I purchased this 2003 T-Bird (torch red with white roof) new and have had it ever since. It is not our primary car although we originally bought it for my wife to take to work. It was not long before we placed it in the garage (where it is now) with a dust cover on it. With 21,000+ it is more of a "toy" to enjoy riding in around town when the weather is cooperative. It is not comfortable enough for us to take on long trips, but it still attracts attention. I do all of my own service and it has had no major problems. vlh

I own a red '03. I absolutely love it! I bought it back in March and only drove it until September when I placed it into storage. I have wanted one since I first saw a used 2002 yellow t-bird at a Ford dealership. I fell in love with it. No other car in my life has excited me-period. I am 6 years old but feel like a teenager when I am driving it. I get looks from many people including children. I did not expect any of this. I just liked the style of the car. One driver on the road called out to me with his thumb up. Another was stopped by the police for speeding but called out to me and said "nice car". I honestly would not sell this car for $10,000 more than what I paid for it.

Beautiful car. Purchased in January 2013 for wife who loved it. White with hardtop and black and white interior. Had only 73000 miles on it and looked hardly used. came with all service records. Car was fun until the summer when the HVAC fan controller would only run at full blast. Found out that part was unavailable EVERYWHERE in the world but just as important cost to replace was over $1600 in labor! While still trying to find part 3 of the coil on plugs modules failed. Then transmission started to make noises. So car had to go . Loved looks and ride but!

I bought my new Torch Red Premium with the hard top, select shift and full red accent interior in September 03. With 53K miles, it still looks new and gets noticed all the time. My wife and I have 5 kids and 3 grandkids, so we have a Honda Odyssey as well. The T-bird is our date and anniversary trip car, as well as my daily driver. It has been very reliable, with an occasional coil pack replaced under the 10yr/100K warranty. I plan to grow old with this car!

I have owned mine for two years and just love it. This is my 4th tbird. If you are looking for a newly made but vintage looking tbird this is not it. Ford designers missed the mark. I have been told it looks more European than a remake of any tbird by most. But forget its supposed to be a tbird and judge the car for itself. It is fast. It is very well made. It is a convertible or a hardtop. It rides like a luxury car but is still sporty. It is loaded with options. It is very affordable and nothing in its class comes close to having all these virtues. In my opinion it is just one of the best cars made in the last 20 years.

Triple black, color, interior, soft and hard tops. amazing car that handles very well and with plenty of power. Has 95K and started running rough but ford came thru and replaced 5 of the 8 coils under warranty (till 100K on coils)and now runs as new, oh did I say ford replaced plugs and did a tune up for just parts for the inconvenience. I'm 6'5" and with the soft top on its tight but with hard top or top down its fine

I bought this 2003 T'Bird primarily for my wife. We started our special car life with an MGA 40 odd years ago. It was fun, but now in our older years we appreciate the amenities in our Bird. It has good power, special looks and it's fun to drive. It is really comfortable for a car this size and we appreciate that since neither of us is small. And it will accommodate 2 full sets of golf clubs. We couldn't ask for a better, and for us, practical fun car.

The Thunderbird is unique. After almost 3 years of ownership, I still get looks, questions and comments. They call the style retro, but actually it is a modern take of the early T-birds. The interior, I think is not unique but pretty good. For some reason I prefer the T-Bird to my BMW 540I. I like the car, I like the experience of owning the car. I was going to buy something else, but I can't find another $45K car I would rather have. For now it is a keeper. If I buy another car, I'm keeping the T-Bird. I think soon the value will increase, not as an investment but people will appreciate the car for what it is, a unique, RWD, V8, 4 wheel independent suspension, 2 seater, convertible.

Car had no problems until 20-22K. Had right rear brake caliper stick; wearing out pads/scoring disk; Throttle body (fuel regulator system) had to be replaced. Rear defroster switch stayed on with hard top on; drained battery. Had random slap in transmission. Took in twice; tech could not find. Finally at 3 year(30K mileage) another tech spotted problem in auto transmission shifting module. The visor (where you view mileage etc) was dirty on inside; tech got dirty when removing dashboard to replace rear defroster module. Tires wore out at 31K. Car has had tires and oil changed every 3K. Original tires made you feel like you were floating in car. I weigh 230lbs; need seat to go back & recline 3-4 more inches.

Best driving & handling car I have ever owned. Battery was dead upon delivery, but car had been sitting for a long time. Ignition switch locked up and could not be turned - dealer fixed with new switch. Transmission shows "E" while traveling. Water leak in drivers side window. All supposed to be fixed per TSB guidelines. Strange problems for a premium car.

This car is a head-turner. I've received plenty of comments concerning the looks but when asked if it's fun to drive that's a harder question. The transmission jerks when you are coasting, then have to speed up. The hard top creaks and doesn't always provide a tight water seal. I've had several unfound electrical problems such as shutting the trunk causes the lights to flash and sometimes when I turn the wheel it changes from CD to radio. I still like to turn heads and love the nice comments so I'll endure the minor problems.

Car was in 1st 100 280HP 2003 cars. At 20,000 miles stuck caliper and bad throttle body. 30,000 miles bad transmission module which gave sluggish performance from beginning in service date. Interior is quiet with soft or hard top. Have no idea what MPG is. Who cares? Truly a gentleman's sport's car. Local dealer quick to fix all problems under warranty.

Car looks super -- very retro looking. It has great performance and good gas mileage -- hits 25 mpg on highway most of the time. Accelerates like a muscle car from the 60's once you get it rolling; the 5 speed automatic really keeps the engine boiling -- sounds good too. The torque of the V-8 makes passing effortless. More of a luxury ride than a sport car ride. A little soft in cornering but very comfortable on trips. Some body shake on bumpy roads. Stereo with 6-disc CD works well, sounds good. In summary, if you like the feel of a V-8 in a car with dramatic styling, you are going to love this car.

Well this is a nice vehicle. I watched the car for a couple of years before purchasing a brand new one. And there is one interesting thing about the vehicle. It has a winter hardtop salon type roof with the opera windows. You store this on a rack/gurney. When we removed the top to go to convertible status in late May, 2004 the paint all around the trunk where the top meets the roof very easily lifted up. Had to repaint. So here's Ford's 21st century fix. They send you a kit with plastic strips. You place it down along the outer reaches of the rear deck and than you place the top back on. Just not engineered well.

Compared to my previous Mercedes SLK, this has much more power and style, though the handling is no match for the SLK. It is more a mixture of luxury and performance. The engine is as strong as any muscle car I drove in the 60's, yet gets 17 - 26 mpg. This is a real head turner, and a hit with the ladies. The car looks much better with the porthole hardtop than the soft top, unless it is down! The build quality is excellent, with just 1 minor problem in two years.

Unbelievable a car this small could ride like a Linclon and the JAG engine is awesome, fast, fast, fast, 25MPG overall. Transmission like silk and option to manual shift or auto shift nice. 6K miles and not the first defect of any sort. Trunk small and cockpit only made for two. Had a few nice sports cars in my time and TBird the most fun and get a lot of thumbs up from other motorists. Yup, it's definitely a head turner and we get a lot of compliments.

THIS AUTOMOBILE IS SURE TO GO DOWN IN ICON HISTORY ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL 1955 MODEL. THE STYLING TURNS HEADS AROUND EVERY BEND, BUT MOST OF ALL, IT'S JUST FUN TO DRIVE. AND JUST AS THE BEACH BOYS SAID, 'WE'LL HAVE FUN, FUN, FUN TILL DADDY TAKES THE T-BIRD AWAY!!" THE RIDE IS SMOOTH, THE ENGINE PURRS, AND THE HANDLING IS AS GOOD AS ON ANY BMW I HAVE EVER OWNED.

I have had the fortune to have owned and driven some of the best cars ever made, including Mercedes, Jaguar, and BMW.. this car is the only car I claim to love driving, for the whole experience put together. I have been reading with great interest the postings of people who seem to be totally mesmerized by their Thunderbirds. This seemed a bit much. Then came a perfect day in North Georgia and a chance to go to the mountains. The car was clean and shiny, the engine purred with that familiar tune, and the cd player entertained as we headed north. The car and the day were a perfect match and I was hooked. So, now I understand - it's more than the beauty of the car; it's the exhilarating feeling that comes from driving the Thunderbird. What a day, what a feeling, what a car!

I mean... I really can't complain. I've owned an escort, probe, and mustang, all within the last 3 years. I could find several things to complain about with each car though each had its strengths. However, when it comes to the Thunderbird, I just stand (or sit there it the heated leather) with my mouth hanging open and saliva trickling down. Just look at the ratings... 9.8! The consumers have it right this time... not the editors. Ford does have a better idea from time to time, but this time they put all their better.. no best ideas into one car. What a car! The perfect blend of luxury, sport, and classic styling.

My dad bought this car and he just loves it. He left for a week on a business trip and I had the pleasure of driving it for that week:-) This car loves to go fast, or at least I love to go fast in it. It is amazingly quiet at 80 down the freeway, even with the top down. Great to blow the "fast and furious Honda" off the line. This car can hit 130 without much dificulty, from what I hear;-) this car has a kickin' sound system with great bass. Get lots of looks. This car is a BEAUTIFUL Luxury car with the ability to get-up-and-GO.

At 55, my T'bird is helping me hang on to what's left of my youth! A neighbor had a '57 and I just loved his car and dreamed that someday. My T'bird rides a little heavy and sometimes feels like its floating. Both inside and out, it is just retro beautiful and everybody who sees it has a T'bird story to tell me. My story happened last Oct. when a Park policeman pulled me over for speeding. He told me that he had a '56 and that mine was the first new one he had seen on the parkway. He asked me if he could drive mine! And who would say no to a policeman? 15 minutes later he returned with a big smile. By the way, I didn't get a ticket!

We have purchased 2 new T=Birds both 2002's They are the Blue and yellow colors that were both discountinued after the 2002 build year. The yellow car has the worst paint job I have ever seen on a new car. I'm talking about in the small places like where the gas tank nozzel is, mostly over spray with very little paint, paint on the rubber parts under the hood where you would not expect paint for a car that cost this much. The Blue car has more mechanical problems, window track breaking, top making a thud when retracking. little felt things coming out of sun visors, bottoming out-struts were replaced, still bottoms out

Retro bird getting better.

The 03 has added HP and stiffer structure, addressing 2002 owners complaints. The 03 colors were a bit of a disappointment, the 04 designers have addressed this issue too!

The thunderbird is a comfortable cruzer with dashing looks. It grows on you and brings a smile on peoples faces as you drive up. Want to meet some interesting people? Drive this car and meet other owners and people that do not. New stories, old stories, you be thrilled with the over all experience. For a new car it is a dream that has come true.

We've wanted one since 1955, and the need for a new car finally coincided with the availability of a T-Bird. It is a cool car, and we feel good driving it. Furthermore, the 280 hp engine moves it on down the road. Thanks, J Mays and Ford, for keeping the spirit of the Thunderbird.

Ya know, this car has been out for what, 2-3 years now and I'm totally baffled why I don't see more of them on the road. The design is absolutely stunning and it's probably the one car that ford cares about when they build it. From the moment I look at it to when I put in the key to the moment the engine comes to life, this car gets me going. I've been doing this now for a month and it still is just as good from the day I bought it. I love this ride... to the point where I want my unborn son to take his girl to the prom 18 years from now.

It rides like a dream. Very sporty. 2 door removable hardtop. Great gas mileage. Good sound system. I love the dual control air/heat & heated driver & passenger seats. Looks great with the top down. I love the "retro" Desert Sky Blue color. It gets lots of looks! Don't hesitate. It's supposed to be discontinued in 2004 and that means it will only go up in value.

We have only had the car couple of weeks, however, we live in St. Louis, MO and purshased the car in White Plains NY over the internet. It was over a 1000 miles back to St. Louis. We drove through four hours of storms during the trip back and the car handled well under terrible driving conditions. I look foreward to our next road trip in the T-Bird.

I have a 2003 007 edition. I have never had another car in 30 years that has been so much fun. It also moves. The 280 horses are unbelievable. The ride is smooth as silk. I road in a friend's Boxster the other day and was stunned when I realized how much better my Bird rides. The turning radius is the shortest I have ever had. U turns in two lanes leave you room to spare. The radio/CD is fabulous and very clear even with the top down at high speeds.

I have always wanted a convertible sports car and found my dream when I purchased a 2003 Thunderbird. Before I purchased the Thunderbird, I had owned a 1999 XJ8 Jaguar. The Thunderbird performs on the same level as the XJ8 and it's even more fun to drive. No matter where I drive, people are constantly staring or pointing out the car as it passes. If I just take a short drive, at least 3 or 4 folks turn their heads or make a nice comment if I'm at a stop sign or red light. I am fully enjoying this car and at age 55 am having the time of my life driving it.

This a great vehicle which captures a hint of the past with all of today's technology. The ride and handling is superb and the build quality is excellent. This vehicle clearly outpaces it competition by a significant margin. The select shift option is quite worthwhile if only as a second choice behind a standard transmission. The instrument panel should have been complemented with a full analog guage package. Overall it is a 10.

I purchased one of the first all Thunderbird Blue models on the road back in February of 2002, and have loved the car ever since. It is the perfect combination of comfortable road car and sporty performance car. And that body . . . . Now that I've owned the car for a year and driven it just over 3,000 miles, I know that love at first sight has become a love that will last forever. I never thought I'd get a second chance to by a new Thunderbird with the style and class of the originals, but there you are.

Have had the T-Bird just over a year and have had NO problems, other than having to get used to strangers talking to me constantly, waving, giving thumbs up, etc. While seats are adult-sized, which is GREAT, there isn't much room for anything else; I even got a smaller purse. However, have done road trips with 4 cats and 2 dogs with no fighting. Trunk room is small, but I've now seen smaller! (VW new beetle conv.). There is a wave of approval that floats your ride in this car, which is backed up by its exceptional performance (EXCELLENT acceleration when you want it).

There you go!

Compared to the BMW 3-series and other cars of this category, taking into account cost etc. this car wins hands down. Look at this way...would you rather buy a car that looks like a Honda or Vega from the rear or this babe. Come on now...really! Also, she purrs like a cat!!

I saw the picture over two years ago, and started saving right away. The car responds to all my commands, and is built to seat a man of 6', 235. The weight of the vehicle (almost 3900 lbs) makes me feel like i have control and the power allows for quick accelaration and just wonderful confidence for passing. The subtle 'grumbling' of the exhaust has me driving with the sound system off. Although i would of like to have seen a non-Lincoln interior and maybe a bit more trunk space, this car is all i hoped it would be...good job Ford, now teach the dealers what gas to recommend and that this is not a Focus or Mustang and the buyers are a bit more refined.

I then decided to look at a Ford for a third vehicle. By chance, they had a new red T-Bird for sale because the person who ordered it declined to buy it. Well, I tried it out and was really impressed. It had better exceleration and comfort than the BMW 3 convertible I had tried. We could carry on a conversation with the top down at speeds exceeding 70. Every where I went, the T-Bird got people looking at it. Needless to say, I bought it on the spot. I've had it for a week and can't put into words, the pure joy and exhileration of driving it. I never thought that there would be a car more fun to drive than my 98 BMW Z3.

Researched this car for a year, finding that all the Ford dealers were asking & getting a premium price. The test drive convienced my wife & I that it was a very credible performer! The dealer came off his premium price & we made the deal. My wife wanted Yellow & when ask why, she said "WHY NOT YELLOW!" We have enjoyed the stares & wonderful coments were ever we go!
