Being a paraplegic and towing a small travel trailer this car meets my needs. It has plenty of power but as soon as you take it out of over drive pulling the trailer you mpg takes a nose dive. The Crown is still one of the finest looking cars on the road!I love it!

Forget it, this car by far is the best car that i have owned. Every aspect of this vehicle adds up to it's greatness. At the beginning i was a bit concerned about mpg, reliability, and comfort. I drove from New York to Vermont, last exit before Canada. I got 28.5 miles a gallon, even with the heat on. Have you seen the size of this car? It could be -30 degrees like it was out there and it started up right away no flaus and the heat of thr summer up to 105 degrees, no problem. This car offers a smooth ride, and fun to drive. I Love This Car.

Everyone in my family either has this car, or has had one. As a previous owner of 3 of these cars (2 police editions, and 1 base version), I cannot state how reliable and dependable this car is. The thing I truly love about this car, and cannot stress this enough, is that it is true quality engineering for the American car makers. I don't even believe Asian/European car makers can come close to how awesome of a car this is. Yes, the car is practically a submarine on wheels with its size and looks, and the entire isn't anything fancy. But what this is, is no stupid computers that break down, just quality mechanical engineering, and we truly need more of these types of cars now!

Great road car. Very comfortable, quiet and responsive. Good gas mileage-never below 20mpg even in city. Open road always 25mpg or better.

We've had this car for almost a year as of this writing and are very, very satisfied with its performance and comfort. Large, yet modest. Doesn't leak a drop of nothin', except a/c condensation. Yes, we did have to replace a rear axle shaft a few months in, but flawless otherwise. Though it gets a lousy 12 mpg in the city, it gets 28 to 30 on the highway - incredible! And that's with three adult-sized people with luggage. Smooth as honey on the interstate.

I bought my green/grey LX because I wanted something more reliable for a long commute, but it turned into something much more fun. I'm from an area where winter takes over half the year, and have experienced a fair number of fender benders that haven't left a mark! Reasonable fuel economy and luxurious roomy interior makes my car a favorite for road trips, V8 power makes passing a breeze, and the spacious truck can easily haul anything I could ever want. Being a 20 yr old student, I didn't think I'd love this land-yacht so much. But no cops pull me over because they think I'm a ghost car, and nobody passes me for the same reason! Talk about added safety features. I don't think I'll ever sell.

This car is so comfortable for long trips that I prefer to drive 12 hours rather than take a 2 hour flight. When I turn the key, the satisfying V8 burble soothes my ears and I wonder how anyone can stand the sewing machine whine of a V4 Japanese engine in a cramped little Honda or Toyota. The dashboard is plain and functional- oil gauge, temp gauge, and a speedometer, with a compass above the rear view mirror; there are none of the electronic gimmicks that other cars are tricked out with.

No real problems so far. Generally good performance & economy. At 73000 km both are starting to slip a bit but it's due for a tune up & sits a lot, so ethanol in fuel could be playing havoc with injectors. In warmer seasons, gets about 20 mpg city cdn & 30-33 on hwy. Wife has severe back problems & finds car very comfortable. But ride could be smoother. As someone else said, trunk lid holds water & soaks you when you open it. Pins & bushings in front door hinges worn out. Car is very well maintained - go figure? For 1/2-1/3 price of high end used import, take the Vic! Read consumer info! Fuel consumption in line with larger imports. With proper maintenance, I expect to have it a long time.

I purchased this car new after owning a couple of Tauruses, a Sable and a Grand Marquis. I chose the Sport package and it is awesome. The power, handling and seating is so much better than the Grand Marquis. This car has done 90,000 miles, both long trips and local driving and has only had one non- maintenance repair, the rear air suspension compressor at 60,000 miles. Fuel mileage is consistently in the 26 mpg range even with the lower differential gearing of the Sport pkg. I'm in process of buying a 7000 mile 2006 LX Sport to replace it. Best car I've ever owned.

Rear axles went bad 2 months after warranty was past, but less than 36,000 miles. The car was on recall for this problem if it was a fleet vehicle, but not for a private owner. Rotors went out of shape at 39,500 miles. Wind noise around the front doors at highway speeds. It's interesting that Ford now gives longer warrantys for the same car. Is Ford hurting? No more Fords for me

I've had this car from 22,000 miles, now have 86,000, all trouble free. I've taken it on several road trips, even went camping (the trunk fit tents, 4 sleeping bags, a cooler, and a camp grill). I bought the car back when I worked at a Ford dealership, because I had seen how well built they are, and how rarely they had any serious concerns. I intend to keep it for a long time. Some reviews on here talk about weak brakes, but I've never had any trouble bringing it to a quick stop

I've had three Vics (85,89,03). I like the room (I'm 6-3). You can fit two child seats in back and still squeeze someone in between. And the safety of a larger car-it can take a decent thump. The car "sits" nicely on the road (not a "boat"). Aerodynamically quiet-I can have the windows down at 55 and the air flows quietly around the car. Unfortunately, the noise I do hear comes from the tranny (my '89 was the same way!) a sort of low pitched whine - like blowing across the top of a nearly full soda bottle.Another peeve is the way the trunk lid holds water until you open it, then it drips into the trunk and on your head. Gets about 20mpg on 300 mi./wk. mostly rural, varied. Not too bad!

Bought an 03 Crown Vic LX Sport for the trunk and low-tech V8. I'm young and wanted the sport for the console and more aggressive look. Have had only minor problems (brakes) in 70K miles. Did have to replace the AC control unit ($900) when it went out at 60K. Best mileage on a tank was 23, mostly highway. Tires are a little pricey. Also seems a little hard to control at speed in the wind.

Purchased used with only 4200 actual miles on vehicle to replace a '96 Impala SS (245K miles on the clock). Wanted a large, US brand 4 door, V8, rear wheel drive car under $25K to drive on company business (1996 was last year GM made the rear wheel drive Impala SS). I now have 27K on the Ford odometer and have had no problems so far.

Ride and handling are excellent but not for long trips. Bucket seats should be standard on all models as well as a gps system for police models. Otherwise leave well enough alone and keep making a quality product. I love my "Vic."

Bought LX Sport 2003 for 40% off MSRP used and enjoy every moment of ride. It is a lot of car for money. I have all luxury options, excluding only heated seats and sun roof. I like firm suspension, handling, amazing passing power on high speeds. Car is big and VERY comfortable. On negative side has more inside noise than my 10 year old Grand Marquis. Since mine is black, have to mention police car effect on the road.

Not just for taxi cabs and police cars!

This is far and away the best ride I've ever owned. The interior is very roomy and quiet. The leather seats are so comfortable, especially on long road trips. It is amazing nimble for such a large car and I love the power under the hood. Surprisingly good gas mileage for an 8 cylinder engine makes it an excellent commute car.

A great feeling having that much space around you, makes driving a pleasure. Great for long or short trips, excellent manueverability and handling for its size. Offers a very controlled yet smooth, almost luxury ride.

The poor thing's been hit twice inside first year we've owned it. Once parked at a Hotel parking lot at son's wedding and once rear ended. Both times damage was small and almost un noticed. Door rocker panel came in right about $1K. The rear end under $700. Was hit hard too but except for TOYOTA imprinted on bumper panel and minor scraps, not one dent and you really would not know it was hit... See, truck aren't only thing biult Ford Tough!!

Too much wind turbelence and had defective steering box, replaced at 2000 miles, damaged arm rest, they installed one with a fabric that did not match. AC had leak and would not cool properly-dealer is rated tops in south but wonder why as too many complaints and mad people when you visit. Requires one to fill out survey about service when vehicle is picked but tell you what you report goes against service writer. That way they manipulate the owner into giving them a good review.

DID A RECENT SURVEY WALKING ACROSS PARKING LOTS AND NOTICED THAT 95% OF THESE CARS HAVE PILLOWS OR SOME TYPE OF CUSHONING ON THE SEAT. WHAT A SHAME FORD. BAD ENOUGH FOR ME TO WANT TO SELL CAR. When my other car went south on a trip to the west coast in Albuquerque,N.M. we purchased a 2003 Red sport model Crown Vic and the rest of the trip was a fun time. The car has a great ride and is just outstanding on the road plus its power to get up all of the mountains in Ca.,Or. and Washington. The XM radio the dealer installed was great we could receive the same station no mater where we drove.

This is my 3rd Crown vic in the past 11 years. Being tall (6'3"), I need a larger car. The leg room is great! The new bucket seats in my LX Sport are very comfortable and suportive. I have traveled for as many as 8 hours at a time, no back pain no muscle cramping. Traction control is wonderful. Compared to the 92 and 93 Crown Vic's I have ownered, excellent skid and "fishtail" control in snow. Great for a full size long wheel based rear drive car. Quality has been excellent during my first year and 31000 miles, no problems what so ever. I'd recommend this car to anyone who wants a full size sedan!

We've been buying CV’s for many years and owned at least 4 or 5. We currently own 2. What makes it great is its safety, it is constructed on a metal frame/foundation. My mother was in accident in which she was rearended and smashed from the front. The other cars were wrecked, the CV was fine and no one was seriously hurt. My father will not drive any other car and i definetly agree with him. Best part is people assume youre a police cruiser and tend to get out of your way. I'd reccomend this car for anyone in the market for such a vehicle. The only negative is people who get car sick will get sick quicker due to its smooth ride.

This car is a great vehicle to own. Potential buyers should be a aware that you're looking at a car that has the same chasis, engine, and trans as a Town Car and it's about $14K less. It performs exceptionally well and it's overall comfort is exceptional. There has been some criticism of the fuel economy. 20-22 MPG is very acceptable with a V-8 that performs so well

The new Crown Victoria has several design and mechanical innovations for 2003 that improve its ride and handling, but it will always be what it has always been - a large, traditional, body-on-frame, rear-wheel drive sedan that comfortably transports 5 or 6 adults. It is excellent value for the money it costs, and maneuvers in city traffic more nimbly than one would expect of a car this size.

This car replaces an 11 yr old, 1992 Saturn SL2. It is intended to be another long term car (10yrs min). Very good highway ride with crisp handling, and surprisingly nimble around town too, thanks to the new rack and pinion steering and suspension improvements. Low rumble from exhaust during warmup indicates need for slightly more underbody sound deadening. Exceptional room in the front for tall drivers, but rear seat leg room could be better. Controls are well laid out and visibility is very good. Leather seats don't provide enough grip during hard cornering, but are reasonably comfortable on 4 hour trips.

GREAT CAR EVER!!

Fortunately, there is still a nice driving rear wheel drive sedan. The Crown Vic' has plenty of power for the highway, and is comfortable on long hauls. The only thing wrong with the car is the dealer that I purchased the car from. If you're ever in Southern California, avoid San Juan Capistrano Ford. There are plenty of other Ford dealers.

This is not your grandpa's Crown Vic! I have a black on black, VERY nice look! At first I wanted the Merauder but for $ 7,000 more Mercury can keep it. All that's lacking is about 60hp which with a couple of cheap add ons, you're right there. I intend to keep this car for a long time. The only thing it lacks is a sun roof and manual trans. Believe it or not!

This is 4th CV I have purchased new in a decade. All of them have been EXTREMELY reliable and trouble free. Gas mileage is very good - comparable to smaller cars with six cylinder power. ONLY complaint ... needs to have a bit more power - ALL CVs need the extra power from dual exhaust. Best value in a car today, considering cost, maintenance, upkeep.

This is the first Ford product I've ever owned. Thus far I'm very satisfied in general. It's a "big" car with rear wheel drive. Not used to that. Traded an Impala which was the second one I had owned but retired and wanted a "large" car. Car is not a responsive as I'd like it to be but guess I'm not used to the "bigness". Ride is perfect and wife loves it. See how it does in time.
