It was a great car , I bought it in 2009 with 120k on it I was 16 when I bought it, it was actually in a previous accident and was reconstructed but looked brand new, I never had a problem with any type of engine work or anything, I did get in a accident with it when I was 18 but I got it fixed and it was fine the only trouble I had with the car was electronic issues like my tail lights were always going out and getting me pulled over and always had to mess with the word and get new tail lights, but I had the car intill I was 22 and had to get rid of it for financial issues. But I would definitely buy another one!

My 2003 Chevy Malibu fuel pump went out. While looking for a new one I found some interesting facts. 1 website had over 90 complaints on that part for that model and year of GM cars. Normally parts for cars interchange every 5 years. The 2003 GM models fuel pump was only put on cars that year. That makes me believe that GM knew the pump was defective. Wy else would GM only install that pump for 1 year when they always use parts for 5 years. Something to think about.

Well, got my first car about a month ago. The Chevy Malibu LS. Got it used for a heck of a deal. Love the power this thing has got, and the interior design is AMAZING! The Radio is alright, ended up replacing every single speaker (4x6 and 6x9) for Rocksfords. The original speakers arent bad though, the bass isnt half bad but not any wear NEAR what you can get. I love the inside of this car. 2 Cigarette Lighters, Easy to open door panels. All i'm getting from now until i die is a Malibu (:

Purchased as a used rental car in 2004 with 15,000 miles. I now have 203,000 miles and change the oil at 5,000 intervals. Non maintenance repairs have only been a fuel pump, thermostat, and alternator. MPG is great. Consistently averages 30-32 highway at 70+ MPH and 26-28 city. Will easily go 55,000 to 60,000 miles on a set of tires. Nothing great to look at but the most reliable car I have owned, especially considering the price. Would like to get something newer but the thing just won't quit.

Going on 14th year since new. Fairly reliable car given normal maintenance. Beside the normal problems others have reported, such as sticky flasher, stuck A/C button, wrapped rotor, etc, I really cannot complaint too much. I did replace the water pump and thermostat, shocks all around 100K miles, the ABS sensors at 115K and again at 153K, by-passed the anti theft system at 147K, fuel pump at 159k, all of these problems were well documented for the model year. Other than that, everything still works approaching 160K. My goal with this car is 250K miles, but I am not using the car as much as I did before and I will see when and if it can get there.

Purchased the car in 2004 with 9K miles. always taken care of the care by doing the maintenance myself. Car has had no major problems since i purchased. Just had my transmission oil and radiator flushed a replaced. Car still performs very well. Taken it on multiple trips a year and always average between 26-28 MPG. Have highly rated All season tires and always perform regular oil changes. Acceleration always begins to be a problem right before oil changes are necessary, but the car performs very well otherwise. Interior is differently not of high quality and things do brake but nothing a little lover and attention wont fix.

Loved car until intake gasket leak, warped brake rotors, anti-theft sensor went out, 4 AC control plates, and now has a slight jerking when softly accelerating. Bought used in 2004, am second owner. Up to 98,000 miles. Decent acceleration from stop if you press gas 3/4 way down. For passing on interstate, floor it and it'll downshift. Am doing mild hypermiling. Average between 22 to 24 mpg in city. Use cushion with opening for tailbone. Seat bucket now painful to my tailbone. Very little rust caused by rocks and parking lot car doors.

To Start off, I don't care about the negative comments foreign car fans have to say. The Chevy Malibu is an amazing car! I got my '03 in'04 as a first car and i'm happy i did. This car got me home EVERY time. Yes i've changed the Intake manifold gasket and fuel pump but like they say, take care of the car, car will take care of you. Just recently, I was coming down the mountain road covered in black ice. Going the 50 mile speed limit, the car hits the black ice and crashes, hitting the side wall. She still started right up and drove us down not to far to safety at a chain instal shoulder. She took all the damage which cost her her life. This car saved my life and the lives of my friends.

I've been driving my '03 Malibu LS (fully loaded) for about a year now. I purchased it used with only 26,000km on it! I really like the way the car rides. It's so quiet, even on the highway, and it soaks up bumps really well. The interior fit ad finish is ok, but nothing amazing. It's got nice pickup in the city, and really good passing power on the highway (I've passed with ease at 150 km/h on a steep hill. The worst drawback for me are fuel economy. I only get about 16 city and 22 hwy carefully, watching my driving habits, 15 & 19 driving normally. The other thing is that it feels cheap at times (ie some of the buttons/knobs). It's not too bad, but should be thought of as 'just a car'.

Where do I begin...I bought this car used four years ago with 77k, it was my first car so you cant really be picky. After three months the problems began, head gasket, bad electrical wiring, brakes needed replaced every 6 months, rotors needed replaced once a year, the fuel pump needed replaced, also replaced the ignition and the body control module due to the fact they told me it would solve my problem of my car not starting while sitting in the sun...no mechanic could ever figure out what the problem was! Signals occasionally didn't work, sun visor fell off, seat recliner handle fell off. I took good care of this car, always kept it well maintained but this car did not take care of me!

I bought the car in 06. I was the 2nd owner of this car. It had low miles on it & was in good condition. I had to replace all the tires on it at the time of purchase. I bought a car remote for it within the 1st yr. I get regular oil changes & last summer had to "fix" the car after it over heated--$600ish. The car remote decided to stop working this past winter. I also had to replace one of the tires this winter. I don't drive it excessively & have never taken it out of state. Farthest I have traveled away from home is 2 hrs 3 times. It's a good family car, but I'm usually the only one traveling around in it. It does guzzle gas--16-20 mpg city. Good car if you have a family.

I got this from my mother who purchased it new. I prefer a different brand, but had to keep her from driving. I'm having same problems as others. I've had to have the AC button fixed several times. You'd think that Chevy would offer some kind of rebate or recall to those of us who have to have it fixed since this is a problem with most of the '03s, but they don't. Once is bad, twice is inexcusable. I also have trouble with the brakes when it rains. Glad to know others are having the same problems. I thought it was just me.

I bought this car used with only 2,400 miles on it. The engine is up to the task, and the transmission does a good job of using the power at hand. My problems center around the cooling system. This is the second GM car that I've had in which the coolant is just disappearing. The thermostat is also broken (locked open I think), and will have to be fixed. Don't know where the coolant is going, as there are no leaks. Probably a blown head gasket. Otherwise I like this car, but those are major repairs that the car will need. Air conditioning isn't working now, and hasn't for over two years. Now the fan control is screwed up too (only works on 4 and 5 settings, nothing lower).

Got the car for my son. I noticed HUGE road noise, especially interstate driving, and just figured that the car was a noisy cheap car. I was trying to sound proof it, but did some research on the tires, and saw that the tires that were on there EVERYONE complained about the road noise, so i switched them out, and the car rides like a dream..much, much quieter

Purchased in 8/2003, and I beat drive this car hard! I rarely give it an oil change or any of the recommended maintenance.....The car runs perfectly! I have never gotten stuck! Front rotors and brake pads need to be replaced fairly frequently. The air conditioning has not worked since 2004. I had a problem with water filling the trunk in 2007. The passenger side gets rust spots which I have noticed on many of the Malibus. But, I have never owned a vehicle for this many (6) years! It has been good to me, I have 107, 000 miles on it!

Purchased vehicle at 31,000 miles, 2 years old. I always have my cars serviced at the appropriate times. Never had to do anything to it until the brakes went after 3 years of driving it (20,000 mi/yr). This past week the fuel pump went, but I purchased a 7yr/100,000 service contract which paid for the replacement. Have always liked the car. No other issues and I'm at 90,000 miles.

Purchased w/ 111K, now has 122K. The ignition switch needs replacing (ignition cylinder/theft system issue), there's a major electric short/issue with ground(using foglights blows fuse for Sunroof). The Heating/Cooling does what it wants, AC doesn't stay on, nor does the Circulate Air feature. Antifreeze needs to be refilled about every 1.5mos (dealership found no leak). The vehicles has major braking issues in the rain...Need I go on? I bought this car by hearing of it's reliability...well approx 7mos & 11K later, I admit that I bought a lemon disguised as a car! I'm quite turned off by GM this is the 4th GM I've owned with Electrical issues.

I bought my Malibu LS new in April 2003, and am in the market for a new car now. NOTHING has ever gone wrong with it, it's given me zero problems. It's been a while though, I'm a little bored with it, I make more money than I did, so I'm shopping again. I've test driven BMW, Lexus, Mercedes and Audi, expecting to be "wowed"......and I really wasn't. Granted, my Malibu has every option there is, and I don't pretend it's in the class of any of those cars I mentioned - but it really stands up very well comparatively, in features, drive and quality. It's certainly made me appreciate it more. Certainly not an exciting car, but definitely both reliable and nice.

Leaking coolant, had to replace gaskets and water pump. I haven't had the car two years. Locks went weird. Overall it's been disappointing to say the least. i'm in school and cant afford a new car any time soon >:[

I am biased to GM as I work for them but this car has been nothing but a pleasure. I've replaced one wheel bearing since 2004. It has great fuel economy on the highway, not great in the city. The car is plain and nobody notices it which is nice when it's parked in a lot overnight. One tip don't skimp on brake parts. Mine squeak constantly and have before when I've used so-so parts.

Bought new - lots of price incentives - good initial reports, including CU. GM just doesn't get it. Poor brake / rotor design - expensive to fix. Flasher problems should have been a recall - hard to get at - poor design. Radio buttons show "wear" - mats slip - ash tray comes out doesn't go back in easily. Glove box opens - bottom falls out. Just the kind of garbage you never see in a Toyota or Honda who "sweat the details". GM deserves to go under - they have had years to get it right and disappoint.

But American cars!

I have a 2003 Chevy Malibu LS.I love my car!I have had to replace the catalytic converter & the fuel pump but I had over 100000 miles on it before I had any repairs. Now I live in Tennessee & I only paid $250 for the Converter & $400 for the fuel pump & w/ having a car payment I'm cool with that. Now My girlfriend had a 2003 Honda Civic & she thought he car was better than mine because it's a Honda but at 56000 miles on her civic the A/C unit went out & she did not get the extended warrenty & we went to 3 mechanic's & the cheapest to replace & fix the A/C was $1350. She never got the A/C fixed she Traded it and bought a 2006 Chevy Malibu. You are gonna have problems with any car you buy. I will always buy GM or Ford to support our domestic car manufacturers!

I bought this car new in 2003. Being a Chevy guy I thought I could look over a couple of things. However at 60,000 and 5 brake changes and 1 rotor change enough is enough! ( I could mention more problems but will not embarrass Chevy futher ) There is a problem with the brakes on the 2003 Malibu. Everyone knows it and us new car purchasers should be given some compensation. My wife drives this car to a part time job plus takes my daughter tom Pre-K. It is lucky if she gets the car up to 45 mph. We live in a rural area with not alot of stop and go traffic. Come on Chevy before you go belly up and amit this problem or I am done with GM cars....

This has got to be the worst car I've ever owned. The air conditioner won't stay in recirculation (coldest) mode. We've had it serviced six times in five years (after warranty expired $400 a pop). It works for a few months, then breaks again. Local Chevy dealer kept it for over a week last time to figure out what is going wrong. Still can't figure it out. Living in North Central Texas, cold a/c in summer (and sometimes spring and fall) isn't an option -- it's a necessity. Our next car will definitely not be a GM product -- from two people who bought exclusively GM for our entire driving lives.

In all honesty the 2003 Malibu has been fairly reliable, except for rotors. I made the mistake of getting the rotors machined back to smooth, all this did was to give the rotors a shorter life. Replace rotors if they are warped, do not machine. It's now in with a suspected fuel pump problem. The reason it's at the Canadian tire is I went to the local Chev dealer, and explained I had a loose connection on a wire leading to the fan motor, a simple repair, at $152. I was furious and got the bill reduced substantially. The air conditioning never worked satisfactorily from day one, it cooled but was never cold. The vehicle was just transport

In the begining it was a very good vehicle. I had to replace the alternator when the car had 58,000 miles on it. A few weeks after I made my last payment, at 75,000 miles, it seemed that everything went wrong. The fuel pump went and had to replace it, of course the car wouldn't run with out it. While that was being fixed I was told that I would have to replace the front wheel bearings very soon, the air conditioner went with a few days of being told that, the paint began to peel off the rear passenger doors, the car also started to leak oil and the door locks started acting up. I thought this car may become a service department regular so I decided it was time to replace it after only 5 yrs

What can I say, its an all around great car. It fits my every need. The motor is great, nice horsepower and torque. You can put a beating on it and it wont die. Has no problem burning out too. Two complaints I always get are the seats are comfortable and it rides smooth. Very smooth and a lot of space inside for leg room. CD player is pretty good, so are the speakers. The trunk is excellent for putting a lot of things in it. Taken it on road trips and has no issues what so ever. Take care of this car and you'll put many miles on it. I recommend to anyone who has a family or carries three or more people.

Now at 91k miles needs a complete new head. Stripped rocker arm bolt out of head and have no idea why. Will cost me $1,500. 48 year old woman drives this car easy, and I kept it serviced with care. Car now has 90K miles on it. The car is reliable and has never broken down on me. Gas mileage is pretty good. Responsive car. OK to drive. Had brake problems in the early year. I replaced the rotors with quality rotors and replaced both wheel bearings. Since those replacements, I have not had problems with the rotors or stopping power. Don't use lifetime pads on this car. At 70K miles I replaced the intake manifold gasket. THis is the only major repair.

The only reason we purchased this car was to tow behind our Class A motorhome. The Malibu is one of only a few cars with automatic transmission that can be towed without expensive modifications. The build quality being a GM product is questionable at best of course. Not much acceleration. A mundane "bread and butter" auto.

I've had this car a little over two years and I haven't had one problem. The v6 engine is powerful, it rides very smooth, and it's very easy to work on. The only money I have had to put in to this car was gas, oil change, brakes, and a tail light bulb. The A/C blows ice cold and if you take car of it, I recommend this car to anyone.

I bought this vehicle in 2004 for only $8,000. It was the best purchase I had ever made on a vehicle. I have owned a Mazda and Corsica and had nothing but problems. When I purchased this vehicle it had 17,000 miles on it and I was working at a state agency so I did a lot of traveling. I now have 83,000 miles on it and the only problem I had with it was a couple weeks after I got it the factory CD player stopped working but I was in a the process of getting a CD player installed anyways and all I have needed done is brakes changed twice and oil changes. Mechanically I have had absolutely no problems and it drives smoothly.

I've had numerous problems with this vehicle. So far, I've had the flywheel replaced due to noises when the vehicle started(this was one month into ownership), the entire fan/blower system replaced (one year into ownership, power steering gear replaced and lower intake gasket replaced (2 1/2 years into ownership). Now that I am out of warranty, the fan system that was replaced does not work - again. This is not to mention that this V6 vehicle has no power or pickup. I would not recommend that anyone buy a Malibu.

We bought the Malibu new in September 2003. Actually we bought two (one basic and one LS), and have been very pleased. This review is based on our experience involving the basic Malibu after 59,000 miles. Mainly interstate driving, 20,000 miles per year. Using cruise control, I consistently average 30 MPG. New tires at 43,000 miles. Replaced front brakes at 56,000 miles, at a dealership cost of $127.90. Rear brakes still good shape. Oil changes every 3,000 miles. We are happy Malibu owners, and armed with hindsight, we would make the same purchase decision as we did in Septemer 2003.

One thing after another. Front brakes and rotors. Tire sizes hard to find, never on sale like others. Driver side window loose. Blower motor resistor just went. Back of driver seat broke earlier. CD player does not eject fully anymore. Plus, the CDs get extremely hot after a short play time. Not the best on gas either. Just my opinion. Hard to resell.

This has been a very solid and reliable car--my experience matches the high JD Power and strong CR ratings for this model year. Lots of interior room and luggage capacity. Fule mileage has been good, with over 30 mpg on highways with cruise control. Strong pickup, decent handling. Brake rotors were turned at around 25,000 miles, which seems normal to me for mostly local stop and go driving. Seating could be better for me on long drives (I'm 6'3" with long legs). All in all, I was pleased enough to get a used model for my college son. It's a good deal for those who keep their cars for a while.

Replaced front brakes and rotors at 6900 milles, again at 30,000 and again at 48,000 including replacing wheel bearings and calipers to the tune of $1200. No, I do not ride the brake! I have been told by several people that GM knows they are installing junk and the only way not to be replacing the brakes and rotors all the time is to replace the wheel bearings to correct the problem. GM should step up. Considering the size and price of the vechile, besides the brake issue, it has been dependable transportation. Mine is a basic model so it lacks in the comfort department.

I sold my 2004 Malibu and got a 2003 one becasue the other one had too many problems. I don't know what people are talking about with gas mileage but when I drove to Florida, I got 32 m.p.g. at 85-90 mph with 4 people and trunk full of stuff. Try using fuel injector cleaner a few times, it'll help. Mixed driving I, usually get 25 mpg. Drove 30,000 miles in 8 months and the only problem was the horn went bad. Turned out I needed a new fuse but it still doesn't sound the same. Gets the job done though. Can't complain; paid $7200 with 38000 miles when it was still less than 2 years old.

Plan on replacing brakes and rotors every 22-24000 miles. Roughly $90, if you do it yourself. Lower intake manifold gasket went at 44,000 miles. I have found this is quite common, and look forward to replacing it at least once more before I can get rid of the car. If you are not a mechanic or know a good friend as one, expect to pay between $700-$1100. This will occur roughly every 40-50,000 miles. If you do not catch it in time, your engine will cease to run. Rear window motor is failing. It will roll down, but fails to travel back up. If you are considering purchasing a 97-2003 Malibu, I highly recommend against it. Perhaps you should buy a Ford Edsel instead.

The 2003 Malibu has been a ok ride. The only major problem since I've owned it has been the brakes anywheres from 8- 10,000 miles alway needing work, recycled rotors, replace pads etc. I have replaced with remaned calipers, that included new pads, I feel it has done some better with anti-seize on the slides as far as the leangth of time between pad replacement? The brake problems appeare only in the front end,due to poor design, not so much in the rear? I love the 3.1 engine power, it has and pickup is great? The Malibu is a comfortable ride, with pleanty of room for five passengers? The arm rest has a tendency to loosen up over time I believe due to poor design? Told 2004 & 5's are better?

I bought my 2003 Chevy Malibu with 11,000 miles on it. I now have 22,000 miles on it. I don't drive long distances (everywhere I go is pretty much within 15 miles of my house), but this car gets me from Point A to Point B safely. I don't worry about breaking down in the middle of the night. I've had this car for about a year and a half, and the only thing it's been at the mechanic's shop for is the routine oil change every 3,000. That's it. This is a very low-maintenance, reliable, comfortable car, great on gas, has sufficient pickup with its V6 engine. Factory stereo/CD system is superior to most factory systems. It rocks. And the car looks nice, too! I'm very happy with my Malibu.

I bought it new, and have only put 20k miles on it in over 2 years. A wheel bearing went bad at 8k miles. The stereo stopped working at 13k, the horn stopped working at 18k, engine belt had to be replaced at 20k. Brakes are shot now at 20k, tires are wearing pretty badly as well, and nope, I don't do any jerky driving or high speed turns. I also get random weird vibrations and noises. i have noticed tiny spots of rust forming on the roof and trunk. The rust is under the trunk lid as well, so I'm wondering what is going on there. The car feels cheap in general, but I think I would have gotten my money's worth if it weren't for these annoying problems. I'm afraid of many more problems happening after the warranty is up.

this "car" is nothing more than junk on bad tires. it is totally unreliable, makes strange sounds and beeps, and the horn honks for no reason. the radio has heavy static or gets 2 stations at the same time. the CD player ruined 2 tracks of a CD. the tires do not hold air. it has never been aligned properly. it gets a miserable 15mpg city and barely 20mpg hiway. it also randomly locks us out, locked me in once. dealership, salesman, and service are rude. none of the problems have been resolved. i was told the noises do not exist, then I started recording them. now there is no explanation. the service department even "scolded" me for not filling out a good service report. a real lemon!

Gas mileage is not a good a GM preaches, i might get 20 mpg on the highway. also the interior is not ergomonically correct, the center console is too high and so is the gearshift. And the tires that come standard (ford affinity) are the absolute pits! they are loud, and they dont handle well on dry road. overall it is a very good car, engine is quiet, i"ve had no mechanical problems so far.

I have had this car for nearly a year without any real maintenance problems, however there are few negatives as well. Fuel economy is fair at best(I have been getting 24 on the Highway), the engine is not very quiet, road noise is loud, and the interior ergonomics are not well thought. I have a '99 LS that is identical to the '03's. With 60k miles I have to say it has been a good car. Initial problems with brakes and tires have been fixed. Only other problem is a short in AC switch & alternator failed at 45k. There are only 2 ways to buy the Malibu. First use rebates, GM card promotions and Insist on Invoice price. Second is to find one 2 yrs old and pay half price since resale value is horrible. Right now in SE Region there is 3000 rebate plus 1500 bonus cash and they are clearing out the 03's left for the improved 04 version. With GM card savings you can get it for 6-8000 under invoice!!!

Basically we stole the car when buying it. I got such a good deal (in my opinion) that even though I wasn't looking for another car we just couldn't pass it up. Its enjoyable to drive but attention has to be paid to handling on the highway, it handles well in city driving but the steering is way too tight for the highway. Not a good highway car for a person who while driving may do things that could take their attention off the road even for 1/2 second.

I purchased this car as a replacement for my everyday car. I was surprised by its ride and features. It has a great trunk and spacious seating. I feel comfortable and secure at highway speeds. I think it speaks well for Detroit that they can get some things right for a change.

Got the '03 knowing full well the '04 would be all-new. Couldn't pass up the lease, however, at $193/mo. GM was basically giving them away at the end, and I moved from a Focus lease to save $50/mo. Hey, it's not like I had a Lexus! Plainest car I've ever had. Does the job and doesn't get noticed (a refrigerator), and a great A-B car. Getting just 21 MPG, but all city driving. Performance and handling are merely adequate. I had to search high and low for a Tan interior. Why does GM love Gray so much? Car rated #1 in JD Power quality survey, and so far I have had zero issues.

When my lease for my 2000 Impala was up, I went back to my Chevrolet dealership. Being 6'3" and nearly 300 pounds, I was a bit apprehensive about going to a smaller vehicle. I was amazed how comfortable the Malabu was. I just drove from Florida to New York and was comfortable the entire trip. Kudos to Chevrolet !!

I had previously driven a Malibu before and fell in love with it, so when it came time to buy a new car, that is the only car I would even consider. I love it. It is very dependable, and low maintance. I love my car so much, that in only a month I have put 2000 miles on it, I love driving it it, it is comfortable, and drives very well. I don't what else to say, except that Malibu will be the only car I buy from now on.

Lots of Bang 4 the Buck! That's the Malibu! The V6 engine has lots of spunk! The transmission is smooth and responsive. Stopping is linear and seamless even without ABS. We love all the space-enough back seat space for 3 car seats side-by-side-by- side with trunk room for lots of gear. But the biggest reason we liked the Malibu is the epic value. Where else can you get a midsize car with a V6, auto transmission, cruise and CD player for under $250/month? You heard me right-under $250/month with no money down! That's with 0% GM financing and our $3,000 in GM credit card earnings, but even without that, it's worth every penny and more!

We love our Malibu. Few cosmetic problems on delivery (scratches and interior grime) of which the dealer took care of right away. Awesome sound system; plenty of storage, and an oversized, "flat" trunk which looks huge. The fold down rear seats are very useful. The features and additions were very plentiful and affordable. We are VERY happy.

For a peppy fun to drive car under 20,000 test drive a chevy mailbu. My car is silent only when you blow the doors off civcs and other punk cars cant you hear the car make noise. Also the factory sound system is very simple to use while driving. The best part is the cup holder next to the steering wheel it has already come in handy many times.

Excellent car, especially for the $.

This is an excellent and impressive car for the money. Good power, and handling and ride as good as the Camry. Very quite, as good as the Camry except for a little noisier engine - at least when accelerating hard. Has just about everything one would want in this class of car. Very good stereo (we have the upgrade), comfortable seats (again, since ours is the LS, the seats are an upgrade over the base - do not like the seats in the base). Very roomy. The original Firestone Affinity tires are the only down side. I replaced them with Dumlap SP's. They improved the ride and handling, especially in the rain.

Plain Jane? Yes. Built like a truck? Yes. Meets the needs of a family of four? Yes. The Malibu was our last 'throw-in" when we made our short list of mid size cars to test drive and after test driving the 'imports' we found this Chevy to more than meet what we wanted in price, build and performance.

I bought my Malibu in November 02. It has ran great so far, but the gas milage isn't as great as I would like it to be. I have the base model with the remote keyless, aluminum wheels, and power widows, locks, etc. I love the color which is the new medium gray. Over all considering I paid 15,000 tax and all, I would say that I got a great car at a really great price.

Mine is actually a 1997, the first year. It currently has 103,450 miles and is doing fine. I enjoy the car, but the engine only has 155 hp because they didn't upgrad the engine until 2000. Overall, the car hasn't been bad and I've not had the brake problems some have had. My gas mileage isn't what I would prefer, but I do drive a little fast. My mom has a 1995 Olds Cutlass 2 dr with the 3.1 V6 with 162,000 on the engine, so I am hoping for the same with the Malibu. It has been a good car and I would recommend it.

This is the first brand new car I have ever owned and so far I am completly satisfied with the car. My only complaint is when the air conditioner/defroster is running the gas milage on this car goes down the crapper. I have taken it back to the dealer but they have not be able to find anything wrong. Except for that, the gas mileage is good for a car running with a six cyl. Handles very well and has a smooth and quiet ride.

After months of searching for the right mid-size sedan, I found out about the Malibu through research on Edmunds.com. I fell in love with its conservative styling, outstanding performance and competitive pricing. Perfect for daily commutes and longer road trips. Plenty of standard features on the 4-dr. Sedan model made stepping up to another trim package unnecessary. An all-around fantastic car.

I have had my 2003 malibu for a year. I love the power it has to start off. The stereo system is awesome with the automatic volume control and the different preset tones. The trunk is roomy enough to carry alot of stuff. The added net is perfect when you just have a few bags of groceries. The interior in may car is beautiful, it is cloth with the Chevy bowtie embossed in it.

We were looking at cars in the $25- $30K range, when we came across this loaded Malibu LS. It didn't take long to see the merit in this car, and we bought it. With the rebate, we saved the better part of $10k over what we intended to spend. It compares real favorably with some of the foreign cars made by H, T, and N. The fit and finish is excellent, and it rides and performs quite well. I even like the idea that it has a older style "pushrod engine". We won't have to worry about spending hundeds of dollars to have the overhead cam drive belt replaced.

My wife and I bought our 2003 Malibu last September. After driving a G20 conversion van for 10 years, it took some getting used to driving a smaller vehicle. But, after that initial adjustment period, we are very happy with our new Malibu. The build quality, appearance, and performance are top notch, and the car is a lot of fun to drive. I highly recommend this car to anyone who is looking for a high quality, mid-size, family sedan.
