Notes

You are purchasing a 2002 Volkswagen Eurovan Camper with only 356 Miles!!! yes! Finished in white over gray patterned cloth upholstery, the van is powered by a 2.8-liter VR6 mated to a four-speed automatic transaxle. Equipment includes a pop-up camper top, fog lights, external utility ports, air conditioning, cruise control, a kitchenette, a fold-down bed, hand controls, and a Sony CD stereo. The tires and fuel system components were replaced in preparation for the sale. This EuroVan camper has 356 miles, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title. This van was never sold anywhere else. registration is up to date. The van is finished in white and features a pop-up camper top. Additional exterior equipment includes fog lights, a sliding side door, a rear liftgate, a rear wiper, external utility ports, and a single exhaust outlet. The cabin features front captains chairs and a rear bench upholstered in gray cloth. Amenities include a swiveling passenger seat, air conditioning, cruise control, hand controls for the brake and accelerator pedals, and a Sony CD stereo. The four-spoke steering wheel features an attachment for a steering knob and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 356 miles. The rear of the van is equipped with a kitchenette that features a sink, a refrigerator, a stove, a table, storage cabinets, a fire extinguisher, and a rear bench that folds into a bed. The 2.8-liter VR6 was factory rated at 201 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. the fuel tank, filter, and pump have been replaced. Id like to explain this unique story of the history of this vehicle and how it is in such immaculate condition for its year. This van pertained to a family of two people. One of the owners had a disability and unfortunately he passed away just a few months after they had bought the vehicle. After his passing, the vehicle was never again moved out of the driveway. The vehicle had a wheelchair ramp located on the sliding door therefore that is why you can see a pack of cables, due to the wheelchair ramp being installed on that side. Also, the drivers seat had a handicap swivel base, that is why you can see that the floor is marked on that side. The modifications done to the van in order to make it handicap accessible, was done professionally by a company called Advanced Mobility which you can see the labels that were placed on the doors. You are also able to see the hand controls that I did not remove located on cabin pictures. Furthermore, In regards to the paint, the vehicle was not moved from the driveway for many years, the clear coat on certain parts of the paint peeled off so it had to be redone. In reference to the rims, they were redone. about the inside panels keep in mind that the vehicle was not moved from the driveway therefore the panel has some discoloration only where the sun reflected (thats why it shows a perfect line), one panel looks new as the vehicle is and the other is due to the sun beams reflecting for so many years. As you can see all the tags are still attached to the seats as you can see in the pictures including the fridge, stove, and the tables. Another thing Id like to add is that the windshield still has the original registration from the Volkswagen dealer and also has the business card attached on the windshield with the salesman from Volkswagen when it was bought, which has not been removed since bought in 2002. ***THIS VEHICLE CAN BE VIEWED BY APPOINTMENT ONLY*** LOCATED AT: SELECT AUTO, 612 E. I have had this car for 10.5 years since new and still enjoy driving it. Just coming up to 70K so low mileage. I do almost all the work on my car so the maintenance is not bad. Repairs that have been needed to date are: coolant temp. sensor $30.00, MAF sensor ($190) and now just need to replace the O2 sensor ($76.00). New front end bushings need so installed new front control arms and tie rod assembly with alignment ($1,000). Replaced original brakes at 32k(front) and 34K (rear) and now have about 10K left on 2nd set so have drilled Zimmermann brakes and EBC pads to go on. Tune up easy to do. Most important service is to change transmission fluid per service manual

Bought a Eurovan used with 60,000 miles. In great condition when purchased. Car computer died at 80k, the dealer told my wife the car had "a head ache" and it would cost $2500. I refused and insisted it must be under warranty and under my persistence was then covered by my warranty. Hmm. The car drive like a giant box. The interior is average, the seat are uncomfortable for long trips. The cup holders and plastic part break. A sliding window took 5 trips to the dealer, 18 hrs, and $600. The transmission is going out at 120k, and the brakes are expensive and require special tools. One door handle is broken, the window is stuck, the dealer says $500 to fix. AC died. Hard to find a mechanic

Love the power and sitting up high. Suggestions for improvement: remote control that only unlocks driver's door, not all doors at same time (this could be unsafe; a stranger could jump in other side as one enters driver's door), automatic door locking as vehicle starts to move, glovebox in front of passenger seat. would like FLAT back seat so when it's turned into a bed it is not so lumpy and uneven. I was disappointed that my new 2002 did not have a standard CD player (only am/fm/cassette). I'm the original owner & have owned 2 other VW vans.. the 1990 pop top was superb. I'd love to see the 1990 set up, but put the engine in the front and add safety air bags and a v-6 engine.

Editors comparing the EuroVan to a Honda Odyssey completely miss the point. The Euro is big. It's not a minivan. It's a full size van. Compared to the smallest minivans like the Odyssey, it's kinda boxy and rolls in the turns. But compared to a Dodge or GM full sized van or the bigger SUVs, well, there's no comparison. You can put seven full sized adults in a EuroVan and drive across the country comfortably. Try that in an Odyssey. You can move couches and washing machines and your old big-screen tv in a Euro. Try that in a Dodge Caravan. Your three-cart trip to Costco disappears in the EuroVan. And it's still reasonably fun to drive. It's heavy. 15 mpg if you're lucky. We love ours.

This is a follow up review of a positng I did in 2002. EV now has 38K on it and I have not had a problem. Suspension is still great. Had engine replaced at 17K as my father hit a drainage grate that was sticking up on the a new section of the I-5 freeway and took out the oil pan, which damaged the motor - thanks WSDOT ! I don't drive this much as I am overseas for 4 1/2 months/year, but every time I return it starts up just fine. Only needs routine maintenance. The resale value is very high in my area as well.

I'd like to get a gas miser to drive, just so the oil exporting countries don't get more money, but I can't give up this ride. I have over 100,000 miles on it and it runs like new. It's never had a tune-up...no plugs, nothing. I change the oil every 5,000 miles; it doesn't burn it at all. The seating position gives me a great view of the road. It's like sitting in a comfortable chair in my living room watching my HD big screen. It should have a popcorn popper built in. Besides being able to see traffic well, it handles like a car not a truck. It's built on a very strong truck frame, solid and secure. I can fold down all the back seats in seconds and put in 4 x 8 sheets of plywood.

We bought our Eurovan this summer for frequent weekend trips. It is wonderful, exactly what we needed. It's very roomy and easy to change the interior to match our needs. The seats come in and out quickly, The poptop is easy to put up. The car holds us, our kids, and our dogs with no problems. Put the bikes on the back and we are good to go. This is the best vehicle we have owned.

The Volkswagen EuroVan is the perfect vehicle for me because it can do everything. If I need to hold 7 passengers, it will. If I need to carry sheets of 4x8 plywood, it can. Want to bring my bike to the trail? No problem. Long trips...wonderful. This van is comfortable, has great visibility, is smooth riding and quiet! I love it!

Wow! I don't understand why more of these sold? I love my Eurovan MV - Comfy, usable space, easy to drive and the fit and finish is great. About the only thing I think I miss is rear AC, my kids have to wait a while to get cool on hot days. I plan on driving this car for a long time and I'm completely satisfied with its overall performance and ride. I can't find any safety data about the Eurovan, but I found a danish site that rated cars by accident per million miles and fatalities etc, and the VW van was rated excellent - for all years including the newer faster types like mine.

I originally wrote a review back in Nov. 2002 when the van had only 5500 miles on it. Since then I have had no problems what so ever. Overall, the performance has been excellent. Had the engine replaced after my father hit a drainage grate on a newly built section of highway and it took out the oil pan - thanks WSDOT ! Engine replace with lower mileage engine and so far so good. The fuel economy is a little less than before, but may be due to using regular unleaded and more city driving - averaging around 16.5 - 17 mpg. Had to replace tires at 25K, and babied the Dunlops to get this much out of them. Keep wheels balance and van aligned per schedule. Otherwise van has been great.

As a salesman with bulky samples to lug around it is perfect, small outside, huge inside. "removable" seats aren't very sophisticated, the driving position is very awkward, needs the Passat tilt wheel ( why DIDN'T THEY!)also needs a REAL overdrive to help improve mileage. The handling is quite good, feels solid, it IS a little noisy at speed . I have over 58,000 now and dealer says the A/C compressor might need replaced ?(choke) overall, it took awhile to "get used to" but it suits my needs quite well.

We had our Eurovan for about 1.5 years before we traded it in on a Honda. The car was in for warranty work on a regular basis. Fortunately, once something was fixed, it didn't seem to break again. Overall, the van was tippy, noisy, and poorly designed inside without convenience items like reachable cup holders. The rear seats are almost impossible to take out, which defeats the purpose of having a van in the first place.

problems with paint chipping. The dealer said it was from rocks. I have had the problems since before 5,000 miles. Always garaged just went over the 24,000 mark this weekend. Rear facing seats must be positioned straight up in order for the front seats to be comfortable. Brakes replaced at 20,500 miles - our Dodge Caravan has 49,000 miles and has never had the brakes replaced (not the norm, but indicative of our driving habits) or the paint damage the Eurovan has. Vehicle surges when driving. Van has been maintained by VW dealer per manufacturer's recommendations. Dealers not much help. Wrote to VW customer when van was new - no response.

The most roomy and best looking of all vans I've seen.. Great to take out one of the middle seats and it's almost like a living room! We have 2 small kids and this is the best ( cargo and comfort) for a road trip/vacation. Have yet to have any problems to speak of.. A/C went out but dealer replaced it promptly (covered on warr.) Ride is nice but lots of noise from outside. I'd buy another in the future...

This has been a nightmare. The broken air conditioner in the first month, ruined our vacation plans (we spent it in the repair shop instead) The tires wore out by 10,000. The seats are impossible to get out or back in. We think they are in securely and then 1 hour later they fall out, with a child in the seat. Can't drive with the windows open. The whole car vibrates and sounds like a helicoptor. Bad choise. Never again.

This is the perfect family van. Useful and fun! The MV seating configuration sold us. Traveling with kids is great. Handling is tight and precise. I did add a european headlight switch to activate the rear fog light circuit, and installed a rear fog light. A lot of technical advise is available in Yahoo Groups, under: "ev_update" My wife gets a big kick out of teenagers stopping her in parking lots to tell her "That's a really cool van!". NOTE: I find most written reviews on this van to be either wildly inaccurate, or so full of personal bias as to be useless, if not offensive.

Great van for a larger family. Chose the Eurovan MV as our 3rd child was on the way, and needed a van able to accomadate 3 child seats across the back. Eurovan was the only "minivan" which could. Slept once on the fold down bed- not bad. Averaging around 17.5 to 18 mpg combined. Have 5,500 miles on the clock. Great handling, performance for a van, with loads of room. I seated seven with 5 full size suit cases & 3 carry ons in the back. Climate control works fine, and engine configuration is accessible for those who want to work on engine.

A good value given the standard equipment. Materials do not feel as cheap as in some competitor vans. Drives a bit more truck-like than some competitors but not harsh. The view is commanding and pick up is outstanding. We've averaged about 19.5 MPG so far. Features such as the storage shelf in the rear are great. My wife loves the room and that she can actually move between the seats easily as we are loading things. Build quality is generally good, but glove box has broken twice and a rattle in the door pillar caused by missing/ damaged liner clips from the factory was disappointing. Response from VW has been sympathetic but not what we hoped.

We have owned our EurovanMV for one year. It is an exceptional van in many ways, and a horrible van in others. The best feature of ALL is the fact that you aren't driving the same old soccer van that everybody else is driving. The worst feature? Really awful AC/Heat "Climatronic" that needs to be overriden all the time.

We love our Weekender, and we use it hard. It tows our boat well in the summer, and is even better in winter than our 97 Passat GLX (we live on a pass in the White Mtn. Region with unusually extreme winter weather - 250"+ of snow per season). The brakes are fantastic, and the avoidance handling is far better than expected for a big, clunky, top heavy bread box.

The Euro SHOULD be the best (un)minivan in America. It is not. While it does have VW build quality and performance, it is obvious that the Euro's origins are that of a cargo van. The dash board is the most user-UNfriendly I've ever seen, the seats cause actual pain over longer distances, and the climate control system needs to be drug out into the street and shot. All that aside, it is a great van.

The new VW van still has enough of the qualities that made the old vans so much fun. Its big with a lot of usable space but it is still small enough to park and move in traffic. The VR6 is the best thing that ever happened to this car. It has adaquate power and is smooth and responsive. Handling is great for a van.
