I've purchased this car only for the fact that the manual transmission has 6 gears. The interior looked really sporty and its was all red inside somewhat like material used in jerseys and I really liked it. The car currently has 186,000 miles and I drive it really hard and always responds aggressively. I have toped the speed at 140 miles per hour in a safe straight away and it still wanted more. I've only changed the normal wear tear items like wheel bearings and the brakes and a power steering hose that leaked and that's it for the miles this is a great car. After modifying the exhaust and added legal CA headers it added much more power. The car does feel solid for its size and takes turns like a champ.

This car was given to me to jump start my life again my grandfather bought it for $700 with 236,000 miles and I have had few problems the belt tensioner pully needs to be replaced and the front shocks need to be replaced, I replaced the brakes (someone didn't know what they were doing so I completely replaced everything). I love the way it drives , the brake feel is fantastic, it has cheap tires but you wouldn't guess that it does. The 4 cylinder engine is powerful the transmission shifts smooth but does jerk every now and again, Paint looks horrible. Overall it keeps my insurance cheap and its my daily driver, I plan on getting a newer vehicle but I will keep this car until it dies!

I've had 2 Sentras since 1985, this one being my second. I bought both my sons Sentras when they graduated college (1994 & 1998). The older one was sold in California by my son with 175,000 miles on it and it was still doing fine. My other son gave the 1998 to my sister, and that's still going strong with 185,000 miles on it. If you are looking for a reasonably-priced, easy-to-maintain car, this is the one!

I'm no car expert, but I've driven two Spec-V Sentra; so I figure to have a say. I consider this car to be a very great affordable car. The Spec-V model provides comforts, speed, and good looking aesthetics. The 6 speed version is perfect for your needs on the road. On HWY 1 (Californians will understand) this car has the acceleration to get you over any hills, and the handling for the windy roads you will find.

had this car for two years and from the beginning I had to replace the ecu withing three months.had to replace the 02 sensor twice.had to replace the fuel pump and the transmission control module..spent more time having repairs done on the car than I had driving it..these cars have had major recalls on them and mine had three which were for the airbag, the butterfly bolts on the cat back and the ecu..now I own a mazda and I love it..sorry Nissan but never again will I ever buy one of your vehicles..

After almost 6 years and 55k miles I have replaced almost everything on the vehicle except the engine. Not exaggerating. Wish I was. Purchased with 94k miles and just turned 150k. If I didn't love the car so much I would have sold it for a Mustang. Have a decent amount of mods and heavy suspension upgrades. Everything that broke on the car I replaced with high performance parts. I drive this car HARD Daily. Throw 6 inches of snow at this car and it's useless although it's dry weather fun makes up for it. This is NOT a reliable commuter. Missed more days of work than I'd like to think about being stuck with this car. Will not buy another when I tire of this one. *new* ok so I was asked to update my review! My Nissan hasn't run for about 7 months now. I have a 14 Elantra I use for work transportation and pleasure. Not as fast and fun to drive as the spec v but way more reliable. I wanted to sell the Nissan but it actually died when I was just trying to let it run a few minutes so the battery wouldn't die. Might need a computer who knows. Gotta fix n sell pronto.

This is the second 02 spec-v i have owned. The first was just crap but it was because of the original owner treated it like crap... previous owner was a young girl who did not know how to drive a stick. Now i got another and it had the new motor, tranny, and clutch installed by nissan due to recall on the original motors. Car has about 50k miles on it and i couldnt love it more. I have owned lots of tuner cars and i must say this is by far my favorite. Handles great, amazing power for the 4 banger. I have a few mods to the car nothing to crazy just cold air, exhaust, and suspension. gets pretty good gas milage could be better though. All in all i give this car a 4.7 out of 5

In 3+ years I owned this car I had nothing but problems with engine. The Idle Control Valve, the Engine Control and the ignitions coils went down several times. The engine stalled many times, which makes this car very unsafe to drive. By the end A/C was down too. Never buy any Nissan again

I purchased a 02 Nissan Sentra GXE in Dec of 2001 from our local dealer in Petaluma California. At the time, we also considered Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla but ended up with the Nissan because the interior of the Sentra looked much better than the rest. Big mistake! Our Nissan was ok for the first several years but it started falling apart as soon as it hit 100k. Everything from faded paint to the on board computer (ECM) went out at a cost of $700. Next the transmission went out as well as the seatbelts and etc... Now I understand why people buy Toyota's. Meanwhile, a friend of ours has a 02 Corolla with 200k and it's still running strong.

I just wanted to make a honest review from first hand experience. Bought this car brand new in 2001. First problem I had was a flat tire with but that was a easy fix. I had the oxygen sensor fix, ECU unit replaced all under warranty with about 60,000 miles. At 130,000 miles had the rack and pinion replaced due to leaking. Stuck at the park gear and using the shift lock to release to other gears. Currently have 148,000 miles and still going. The paint on the hood is fading away. Its a 9 year old car. Will have to replace the timing belt soon. I tend to loose power going up hills. Hopefully reach the 200,000 miles. Other than that a reliable car.

I've had my Sentra for almost one year now. I recently had a Nissan dealer do a 25 pt inspection. I was told my rear motor mount was torn, my throttle body needed cleaning as well as a few other minor issues. I have had the car since 55,000 miles and I am at 76,000 now. The thermostat went out at around 73,000. Basically, it is a decent decade old econobox. The factory battery is still in there working fine. I get high 20s in town mid 30s highway gas mileage. A/C kills a lot of engine power but its got a sunroof. Engine noise is not too bad. Road noise can get frightening if it is a nice pot hole. Be careful on windy highways. Performs better than expected in the snow with allseason tires

I bought this car with 30 miles on it, and it now has 112,000. Unfortunately, a rear end collision is forcing me to give up a car I would have kept forever!! Very reliable, and just the right size, this 5-speed manual GXE has served me well. I kept up the maintenance like clockwork, and for that I have never had an engine problem. I am now looking to buy another Nissan Sentra regardless of the negative reviews I continue to see.

I bought my car brand new in 2002. Oil changes were done every 5,000 miles. I did have some trouble with the way the alternator was wired, and also trouble with a sensor. The car would not move when stepping on the gas, even while driving. The emission control needed replaced, but was just under an 8 yr. warranty. I drove the car until 2010 and my daughter drives it now.

I bought my car off of the first owner (personal friend) who meticulously maintained it for the first 41k, it was a peach, after that it all went down hill, the cel is pretty much always on for one reason or another (it eats 02 sensors), fuel economy is terrible, the best I have managed is about 29 mpg hwy and that's shifting at 2k, the trans mission grinds 3rd gear, and the paint has started to Peel at 65k, Peel! And my car has always been garaged! Still, it does have some perks, great handling and torque and great in snow but not much else, this will be my last Nissan

We are so sad to part with our Sentra. (We have to get a bigger car for kids and can't afford to insure two.) I bought it with 30K miles as a salvage and now have 100K on it. The only issue I ever had w/ the engine was fixed for free as a recall. I've replaced a few belts and the brake pads. This car has been 100% reliable. We've driven it, literally, across the country. I'm not into flashy cars, don't care about how "fun" they are to drive. My main concern has always been the bottom line. I really appreciate being able to rely on this car and that I've never had to spend a lot on it. Love this car!

This car is super awesome and fun to drive! The 2.5L in my Spec V pulls hard and always has more power to offer. It's surprisingly powerful for a straight 4. I drove it very hard on the 1st tank and still got 26 MPG out of it. But this car shines the most when you take it out on country roads and take some corners at speeds that don't seem like it should be able to handle, but it does handle them, VERY nicely. I'm the 2nd owner and it's got 85,000 miles and it's never any problems.

This year i am planing to buy a new 2010 nissian sentra. I also love the way the car looks with a spoiler. I have never had a better car. I've had a Ford Fairlane and a Ford Thunderbird. Passed 150,000kms this week. Nothing has gone wrong with this car in nine years of continuous operation. While regular maintenance has helped, I'm astonished that I have done nothing but tires, oil changes, brake pads and a new oil dipstick the entire time. Nissan has been quick about recalls - the throttle issues seem limited to those who fail to heed the recalls. I don't baby the car at all - cars are meant to be driven. It's been on dirt roads to cottage country and through nine Canadian winters with salted roads without rust (save for one muffler bracket which was replaced for $60). While the design is showing its age and it's no luxury car, I am very impressed overall.

Miss my Sentra =(

Bought this Sentra, my first car, certified-used at a dealer. Aside from the fact that I paid way too much for it because of the financing, this is a solid car! Don't let anyone tell you it's bottom of the line! Not a whole ton of horsepower but it gets it done. Gave me no problems until just before 100K, then a couple little things popped up. (Spark plugs, fuel flush, nothing you can't do yourself) I drove this car everywhere. Florida and Canada were no problem! Kept up with oil changes and changed the brakes once. She never failed me. Got totaled just before Halloween, she might be the best car I'll ever have!

I bought my Sentra from a man on Craigslist. He had all the paperwork to prove he had taken care of the car. The paint on the hood and roof was fading already, which is on 99% of all the 2002 Sentras. In the last year the computer has gone out, the AC has gone out and the gas mileage and power has gone down to almost nothing. Stay Away from these cars, I have only had bad things happen. Everyone I know that has ever owned a 2002 Nissan Sentra has had pure hell.

I bought a Nissan thinking the brand was on par with Honda and Toyota...boy, was I wrong. I have never had as many problems with an automobile as I have with this car. When it was still under warranty, I had minor issues. Past 65k...I've had the A/C break twice, normal issues, but the best are the well documented problems with the catalytic converter, pre-cat, and 'recall' Nissan claims they performed on the 02 2.5L engines of this model. Bottom line: Nissan lies, the pre-cat never gets fixed, will fall apart, get sucked into your engine in small bits, mingle with your oil, and slowly eat your engine from the inside out. STAY AWAY!!

I bought my SE-R brand-new from the dealer in 2002. I just rolled 50,000 miles on the odometer this morning on my way to work. I have had NO major problems with the car at all. It handles well and still has most of its zip after six and a half years. Most of my 50,000 miles have been city miles, going to and from work, shopping, etc. But I do take it on the highway several times a week and the little thing still has enough power to run with the big boys. The only issues so far have been minor/routine/cosmetic and I have not had to dump any extra money into it at all. We'll see what happens now that the extended warranty is up!

I bought this car when I was in college because it was fairly inexpensive, and I thought it would be reliable. The car now has nearly 120,000 miles on it and still performs well. The gas mileage is goood, not great - I average around 30-33 depending on the season. The car has had very little maintenance problems. Early on, it had to be in the shop a few times for recalls, but other than replacing brake pads and tires, it has been really cheap to maintain. Performance is what one would expect from a small 4-Cyl. - it does just enough to not get run over by bigger cars. It does suffer from windy days, and it could be bigger, but really, it is a pretty good car.

I purchased this car spanking new and enjoyed its strong engine with gobs of torque (for 2.5 liters), loved the limited slip differential, lots of grip from the tires and suspension. I was excited to finally own a new car I could pamper and keep minty fresh. Well, the honeymoon didn't last very long. From day one, literally, I kept fresh (every 3,000 miles) Mobil 1 oil in it, but despite my efforts, the car burnt more oil than any car I've ever owned, 2quarts every oil change. Also at about 30k to 40K the car lost a lot of power, started blowing black smoke which made it impossible to keep the bumper clean. Also, the clear coat started to peel @ 50K, making the car quite ugly.

Owned this vehicle (GXE w/ cruise control package) from 2001-2008 and through 180K miles only recently showed problems (oil leakage). Prior to that, only repairs needed were for leaking AC (2 times), blocked radiator and oil leak. None of these occurred within the first 100K miles. Car provided 30 mpg this year. For the price, great car.

I bought my 2002 Sentra GXE 6 years ago. It has been great to me so far. I have had nothing go wrong with it and has been extremely reliable. The car saved my life when I was in an accident. I came out alive and in one piece-which meant that the Sentra did its job. It is far from a luxury vehicle, but it is very comfortable and fun to drive. Recent dealer service quote: “will need to replace head gasket, valve cover seal, front crank seal, exhaust manifold gasket, and the intake gasket and all spark plugs. Drive belts are heavily cracked. Timing chain stretched needs tensioner and guides.” Past issues: Oil dip stick broke resulting in removal of oil pan with NTB and dealer service pointing fingers. Brake calipers malfunctioning causing abnormal pad wear and short rotor life on left front. After +$2,000 in repairs, the Sentra just is not worth it. Have owned a Geo Storm, Honda Accord, Chevy Blazer, Ford Mustang, and Jeep Cherokee. All lasted +130k miles.

I bought my 02 Sentra with 25 miles on it. I now has 140,000 and has only seen the shop for tires, brakes, and oil. It gets wonderful gas mileage with the 1.8 L 4 cyl but the car is light weight enough that it is peppy and fun. The only downsides are the seats are not that comfortable for long rides and it could definitely be quieter at highway speeds.

the sentra that could.

I just bought this car last month and I am actually shocked how much I like this car. It wasn't my first choice but ended up with it because of price. Well I consider myself lucky because this car is a blast to drive. It's like driving a go cart as it hugs the turns very nicely. With this very taught suspension you do sacrifice a smooth ride. It does not handle the bumps very well at all but you won't be too disappointed when you see how this baby handles. It has plenty of trunk space for me and my buddies' golf clubs. It gets around town with decent gas mileage and highway miles aren't bad either (23/27). It has wonderful get up and go and you will love zipping around the traffic.

I've owned the vehicle for a little less then a year. It's been fantastic. Mechanically sound even with a few mods added from previous owner. Absolutely fun to drive. Only gripe would be the torque steer when giving a modest amount of gas from the start. For a tuner fan like me though, it provides more fun. For already being a 6 year old vehicle the engine on this vehicle runs flawless with 85,000 miles. A warning to potential car buyers... you will want to drive this car aggressively, it begs for it.

This is my 2nd Sentra, my 1st, a 1991 2-Dr model, lasted until it was totalled in a collision in '02. When I purchased this one, it was a definite upgrade in terms of weight, acceleration, comfort and style. The mileage could be a little better these days (avg 25-30), the leg room in the back is too little for people over 5' tall, and it is very sensitive to the wind. I am overall very happy with the car, it's very reliable and can handle it's own. Other than the above issues, it's a great car for long term owners.

Good car, almost 75000 miles and still running as new. Reaches great speeds in short time, very strong. The engine had a recall but Nissan took care of it. Unlike other reviews where said that Nissan did not notify their customers. Sorry, they sure did, several notes were sent in the mail. Other than this, the car has been great, I do take care of it. Service it on a timely manner (well... I stretch a bit). The little car is still in great condition after almost 5 years and I intend to keep until it dies on me. Thanks Nissan!

Like other reviewers, I passed up a civic for this car. I thought it would be a good choice. I'm not pleased with the gas mileage (22 mpg in the city, and 30 mpg on the highway). My heat also works only on the highest setting so I'm either really cold or really hot. I've also noticed that this car handles really poorly in the wind--I was blown into oncoming traffic once!! And who can forget the paint job--the top coat is peeling in several locations.

I bought this care new with the upgraded Synergy Package and used it for service, I have had it 4 years and have 150k plus miles on it. I have no no problems with it, but the transmission does chirp from second to third gear shifts up and down both, but it hasn't affected the performance of it. I run it hard and its been a wonderful car, I haven't even changed the plugs in it yet. It eats front brakes up about every 35k but I want to keep it and put 400k on it!

For the first three years of ownership of the Spec V, it was relatively problem free. As I write this, the car sits in the shop needing a new head gasket and timing chain. Last month it needed a new radiator and ran out of radiator fluid. I have been diligent about oil changes and routine maintenance. Last summer it mysteriously ran out of oil 3,000 miles after an oil change. Nissan Corp is a JOKE and did not respond to any letters sent its way about this lemon!! As for the recalls mentioned, I was NOT informed of any of them. The car has 60,000 miles on it and as soon as it is returned to me, it will have a "for sale" sign on it. There is a "cover up" Nissan is not mentioning here.

Bought the Sentra SER Spec V; all options. Love the 2.5L 180 HP engine. Torque steer was an issue, but it goes with the territory w/ front-wheel drive. Also bought extended warranty from Nissan Motor Corp. Car's been faithfully maintained by the dealer. There's been at least a half-dozen recalls, all dealer serviced. About one year in, popped a hole in the windshield washer tank. Not covered under extended warranty = $300. Next the horn stops working, electrical short - not covered = $200. Six-disk CD changer - broken - not covered. Next it needed a whole new engine - factory recall, so it's covered. But what's next??? Bottom line ... Don't buy this car!!!

I absolutely LOVE my SE-R Spec V! I have owned the card since it was brand new and have had the car for nearly four years now. The only problem I've had over these past 4 years was with the stereo: the left channel went out about a year ago; it was approx. $250 to have fixed. A few months after I purchased it, one of the fuel injectors went out but it was covered by my warranty. Otherwise there have been no mechanical problems or repairs whatsoever. The build quality is excellent: it is still just as tight as it was the day I bought it.

Ive had my SE-R for a year and half now and have had good luck, it has 57,000 miles on it and havent had any serious problems. Good power for its size, decent gas mileage (better than my 2002 Civic Si or 2001 Z24). Front end looks great, rear end not so great. It is comfortable, I have taken many 4+ hour trips in it and have been comfortable. Surprisingly good in the snow. Assuming it holds up another 60,000 miles, I would buy another Nissan.

This has been an incredibly reliable car for me. I've used the heck out of it, skipped oil changes, bounced over some roads I shouldn't have, and driven the poor thing at over 120 mph on back roads in Colorado. It's been on two cross-country trips. It will be four years in December that I've owned it, and it's been fantastic. The only problems I've ever had with it were caused by other drivers! It has good pickup for a 4-cylinder and handles beautifully. It also has a great, small turning radius, which makes it very maneuverable when necessary.

I purchased this car and right away started modding it. I put on all the bolt ons and really noticed a promising gain. The header itself gained 12whp and 11ft/tq. Torque is definatly not a problem in this car. The interior and exterior fit pretty well and you have 4drs+ a trunk for practicallity. They say the suspension is great however i have aftermarket and still am experiencing a lot of body roll. The performance is good but a little more hp couldnt hurt. I dont really see a need for a 6spd but its something different for a car like it at the price. Overall you get what you pay for.

This is a fast, fun car to drive but I was unhappy to find that one dealer said a sensor was out causing the transmission to malfunction and then they replaced the sensor again because I didn't make it around the block without the check engine light coming on again. Two days later after the second fix it happened again. I took it to another dealer who correctly diagnosed it as the computer itself and replaced it under warranty. I hope the new computer will last longer than another 46,000 miles!

I bought this car simply because it was cheaper and a heck of a lot funner to drive than a Civic. It has not dissapointed. I have over 60K on it and it is still running like new. No major repairs at all. The only problem I have had is my front rotors warp very easily. I'm going to keep it well maintained and expect over 200,000K from it. The gas milage is acceptable, would probably be better if it didn't turn almost 3500 rpm at 75 mph. All in all, a blast to drive, looks great and holds up well --- I'd buy another.

My 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V has had some problems. The parking brake is insufficient to hold the car on a steep incline. I had an insurance claim due to this. Also, the recalls have been plentiful. The interior and exterior panels are cheap. On the plus side, Nissan powertrains are near indestructable. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance and don't abuse them, they will run 250,000 miles with minimal problems. The 2.5 liter engine is very torquey and powerful for a 4 banger. Combine this with a close ratio 6-speed and you have a very quick, fun car to drive. The handling is phenominal for an old school chassis. The car rides rough with a good bit of road noise. Overall, it's a good value. I'm at 20,000 miles and am still smiling. I would buy another.

I bought this car instead of a civic and it's the biggest mistake of my life. It's been towed back to the dealer 4 times because it simply refuses to start. the official response is that I've flooded the engine and needs a $115 fuel system service. nissan corporate customer service is worthless. The paint is of very low quality, sprayed very thin, and has orange peeled. It looks worse than my 7 year old honda. Now it needs a $700 airbag module that is not covered by the warranty, at 47k miles! cheap interior is falling apart and showing signs of wear already. There have been 3 or 4 recalls, which I have not been notified of. I'll be selling this car very soon, despite being $2k upside down.

Nissan dealer did the recall service, after that I had replace the Oxygen senser under warranty. Later Nissan replace the entire on-board computer. I think they short-out my chip while they fix the ECU recall. The car runs great. After 40k, the car still run like a new car. The paint still shine even I park the car outside all the time. Got rid of a 98 Jetta VR6 because I was having a ton of problems with it. I figured you can't go wrong with a Nissan. I was completely wrong. So far, the car has left me stranded 8 times. Sometimes, out of no where, the car just wont start. It gets towed back to the dealership, they don't know what's wrong with it, then they try to charge me for the tow because they cant find the problem. Crank position sensor replaced twice, radio melts cd's, almost starts a fire. New radio stops working after 2 months. Everytime someone gets in the passenger seat and pulls the door shut, the door handle comes off in their hand. Terrible gas milage, 5-8mpg under stated #'s

This car has a lot more torque than other small cars in the same price range - and that's what makes it a very fun car to drive. The manual transmission is a bit notchy, the interior materials arean't of the highest quality, and the red-colored instrument panel is tough to see sometimes.... But you need to remember that this is baiscally a cheap economy car with a big engine dropped in it. If you take it for what it is, it's a great car. I've been averaging 28 mpg with mostly highway driving - not great for a small car, but there is a lot more bottom end on this engine than on a Civic or Corolla engine, so you are trading mpg for torque.

When I first bought the vehicle it was a really good value for the money. Lots of features and excellent performance. After two years of ownership and 80K km the car is still pretty solid but the performance doesn't feel as good as it did. I've had numerous recalls and the ECU decides to act up every now and then by stalling the engine - the dealer still can't figure it out. The interior is not the greatest, design or material wise, but the build quality is pretty good and the seats are great for hard driving. Although the colour of the fabric (red/mesh/black) is not the best, I think the material is excellent - with the exception of a little fraying on the seat back.

I was one of the first proud Spec V owners in CT, no others on the road until May. Great handling, stock tires sucked though (Replaced with Conti Extreme Contacts) for us winter drivers. MPG is a joke!!!! Gets many looks and I have kept it stock except for stereo & tint. Good civic killer, yeah you heard ME! Drove mine off the lot for $17,500 (Thanks Jamie @ Exec. Nissan.) To many recalls though, and rattles.

I have always liked this car, not for it's exterior looks, but for the interior design, the comfort of the drivers seat, and all the cool little features that come along with the car. I have never liked the dorky way the car looks. Of course, I am used to mid-sized coupes and big trucks. But it holds its own, for sure. When called upon, the 126 horses wake up and pull the car forward with a surprising aggression. Great for highway driving. I don't like the way the plastic interior scratches so easily, and the door mouldings tend to fall off if you look at them funny. Build quality is poor, as far as I am concerned.

My sentra was my first car and I was at first excited because I had limited means and the Sentra is an affordable car. I have had the car for nearly two cars and have had to replace the transmission take it for at least two recalls. They replaced the transmission because it had a piece of metal in it and yet I still hear grinding noises when I accelerate. BEWARE

I love my car. It has been nothing but dependable and reliable. And I love the way it looks. I am 19 years old and I had 3 cars before I bought my Sentra and all three of them were nothing but trouble. I had a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlas Ciera, a 1991 Chrysler Lebaron, and a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire. The Sunfire was the worst I had it for 6 months and put almost $1000 into fixing the problems that came up with it. I love my Sentra and I would recommend everyone to have a Nissan!!

I love Nissan.Leased a 98 before buying.Had problems from day 1.The inside is often noisy, the rattles vary in volume, frequency and location. The cruise is intermittent & they can't find the problem. It works on restart but is a concern.A rear speaker has blown repeatedly w/o resolve. Also the entry remotes work off/on. Otherwise, the car is great.Their lack of competency & empathy is disappointing. If resolved,I'd have bought another Nissan. The fact that I've had problems in a new car over 2 years, makes it hard to trust Nissan. Would like to know if others are having this happen, Nissan says no.

I've had my car for 2 years now and it has been nothing but a dream. The only repair that has been done to the car was a hose that caused leakage but that's it. The car handles well, picks up speed fairly well, could be better. The car looks great inside and out, much better than other compacts! My only complaint would be that the driver's seat doesn't go back far enough. I'm a tall guy (6'2) and driving long distances can be a nuisance but for the price i don't think you can beat the value of this car. Oh, get the upgrade for the stereo that comes with the subwoofer....its worth the money!!!

I bought this car in the beginning of 2002. Today is the 2nd year I own this car. This is actually my first brand new car purchase. And in my opinion, this is a very solid car. This car has very good power, quick acceleration, useful accessories, good styling, and good handling. The only complain I have, is that this car has been recalled 4 times already. Hopefully they fix all the problems. Sad to hear but, I will be trading this car for a 2004 Acura RSX Type S.

2.5 L engine!... NO BOSE! It's a fun little car. Not the greatest of build quality, but I haven't had any problems yet. The interior has some cheap plastics, and rattles a little bit (noticed a lot more in cold climate). Gas mileage isn't bad for a 2.5 L engine with a good amount of torque. I average more than 28mpg on every tank. The 5-spd manual is really rare. I've seen only 1 other automatic, while the rest are all spec-v's.

Fast as hell for a little four and an automatic (My son is yet to teach me stick, so no Spec V for me). But the build quality is so much lower than my past three Altima SE's. Numerous problems with the brakes and even the parking brake (it was not holding the car). Also body hardware is cheap. Happy with the aftermarket leather. Car has refinement issues, and the driver- comfort level needs improvement. But it is a blast to drive and turns heads, since people confuse the front fasia with a body kit. But why did they take it off on the 04's? It looks less agreesive. Oh well. Hopefully it will hold up through the end of its lease in 05'.

This is my favorite car ever. I have had cars of varying makes and for some unknown reason, I love this car more than any of them. I have a nearly bare- bones '02 XE (CD, spoiler and A/C are the only options) and I'm just as comfy as can be with it. This isn't to say all is perfect. The seat fabric in the XE is just embarassing - some weird triangulation thing going on there, but the cloth is extremely durable. Overall, an excellent car. I wish it were still built in the US of A (built in Mexico), but at least the engine and trans are still built in Japan.

'03 Spec w/ 8k mi. What it has that its competitors do not are 1) torque 2)limited slip differential, 3) 4 doors. Hands down best value under $19k (fully loaded). Car has great feel to it. Bolstered seats, leather wrapped steering wheel, sweet shift knob. Red-lit dash great at night. Car is all-round performer. Tuned suspension and LSD enable it to handle with the best. 2 words: Canyon Carving. Gear ratios perfect for accel, although the Spec kinda drags (lots of wind noise too) beyond 115 mph. 6th gear short = rather high rpm (3100?) at 85 = bad on gas. Easy to launch, can lay down rubber in 2nd and 3rd. Decent aftermarket, for NA or FI.

Great car that could have been better.

Have about 18k miles on the car in two years. Has been in the shop twice for recalls, and has a consistent problem with starting. Dealership says it probably floods, told me to press down gas pedal when starting if this happens. Has happened about 12 times in last year. Problem still not found, though I've towed it to the dealership twice. A shame since it's less than 2 years old. Almost always takes a long time to start. It does, however, get a LOT of compliments when out driving.

I drove it to New York and it was a very comfortable ride. It also handle the tough New York streets beautifuly. I heard this car was good but I didnt think I would get such a wonderful car for a good price. Its basic, no power windows or locks but it does have AC, CD, and AM/FM. This is a car for a true enthusiast. There is now other way to get close to the world's greatest hot rod, the Skyline GT-R V Spec, for under $18,000 used. If you just want value for the money, stick to the 2.0 GXE or SE-R, but for that extra adrenalin rush on the road and at an import car show go for the bigger engine, nicer wheels, rockford fosgate in-dash with an 8" boom generator in the trunk which is part of the "audio fanatic" package. The car does 120mph as easily as 50mph thanks to a great stock body kit. This will be a classic that everyone will want once the Civic craze dies out in the near future.

My friends who are taller (6' and up) are quite amazed that they fit so well in the front seat. As for the back seat -- well, that is another story. Sentra has many benefits over other cars of its class including Civics, Corollas,& Focus. For the same if not more features the price is much lower. I also haven't had to do any major maintenance. It is also much better powered and performs better than the Ford Passing on highways is extremely easy for a car of its size & you can barely hear the engine while acceleating.Shifting is very smooth as is the ride for a car of its size Only two complaints. One,front driving seats are a bit uncomfortable & gas mileage is not as good as Corolla or Civic.Only 28 in the city & 32 on highway.

This car will absolutely smoke cars so many cars that are so much more money. I'm sure all driving enthusiasts will get a kick out of the "Helical" limited slip front. I don't think another front driver(stock)can hook up it's tires any better. It's really quick off the line. While the other guys engine is reving up you're blowin by. Front end also works better than any other I've driven in the corners so it's fun on the back roads too. So many kids (and Bemers) will want to race you in this car! -It's a lot of fun to own.

I have owned this car for a year now and still grin while driving it. I drive like a bat out of hell and the worst mileage I get is 22 mpg -- which is terrific for a performance car and the way I drive. I traded my 2002 Impreza WRX for this and have ZERO regrets. That thing was falling apart from day 1. Nissan makes great cars, loaded with low end torque (which is where the power is) and I thoroughly enjoy owning this car. Plus, it smokes most cars that test me. The power is even throughout the power band. I have the silver with the red/black interior and it is awesome.

I just bought this car a week ago, 2003 blue se-r spec V. I was surprised by the performance and how many heads it turned. My friends love the 6 speed stick, and everyone will want to drive it. This is a great buy for 19000, I recommend it, but if ur gonna buy a sentra, make sure it's the spec V.

Bought the car new 9/02, ripped 25k out of it as of 6/03 and it's as good as new. Mechanically very sound little car, classy interior that blows Civic and Saturn away. Can't beat the price either and at 38mpg highway, it's environmentally sound as well. Drove it from Charlotte NC to Washington DC during Presidents' Day Storm and the traction is GREAT, I passed spun-out SUVs left and right. Worth your money.

If you buy a Nissan, buy it expecting never to see the dealer again, as they are about worthless. The car is incredibly fun to drive, is responsive to simple performance add ons like a header/exhaust system, and is relatively cheap to run. Get 24-5 mpg avg. For 16g you can't get a car that's funner to drive. At this price point there is no better car. For a bit more the imprezza's a good buy, but not as fun. I'd recommend the spec v only if you love shifting and/or live in a snowy climate, as the differential could come in handy there.

I don't know what's going on w/ Nissan, usually their car is reliable but my car has been a problem car since I bought it brand new. First, its hose was loose when I got it from the dealer. The radiator fluid leaked. Then recently, the bumper paint started to chip out. And finally, this really blew my mind, the car would not start!!! I don't think it's the battery because the lights can be turned on. Now it's going to end up this car being towed to the dealer for service, this is crap because I need a car everyday, I thought Nissans are reliable, guess not...This stinks!!!

Some other guy said spec vs handle bad in the snow...this car doesn't have that problem at all. never slides anywhere and I beat on it too. I had it up to 120...I think it can do 130. Overall I love this car. Fun, conveinent(4 doors), quick, had a pretty good stereo(workin on a better one...hehe). Great car for the money.

I traded my 98 wolfsburg for this vehicle for more power at decent price. I couldn't believe no one mentioned premium gas. My salesman filled it for me and I bet he put in 87. Even with the right gas, the mileage is poor at best. I do like the kick and the front end styling. Had to get the sunroof, which is nice. Hit the gas from dead stop and you might as well just get out and puncture your tires. It is nice vehicle, but nothing special. I wouldn't recommend.

I was choosing between a Golf GL, Acura RSX base a Honda Civic Si Veloz edition and the Spec V. Drove all four and checked out the insurance rates for all. The Spec V won. After taking the Honda out a realizing how good the fuel mileage was I thought that was the one. I then took out the Spec V. If your into power and control, it's a no brainer to get the Spec V. I bought this car in 5/02 and the second day I had it the flashers started blinking very fast. Brought to the dealer the next day they told me there was nothing wrong. Happened again and brought it back the next day. Took them until 10/02 to repair it. THen in 11/02 the heater stopped working and they did not repair that until 1/02. Then on 2/02 the car died in a parking lot and the dealer said the radio was draining the battery and replaced it. The car has been at the dealership more then 60 days of the time I have had it and only has 7000 miles. I have never had it in my possession when it was in working order without awaiting a part.

Good reliability, poor handling in the snow. I didn't expect for it to be great, but I got stuck on a slight incline and had to hoof it home. I have read about the tires and that is where Nissan seems to have gone wrong, although I think that it will still have problems after new tires are installed,I think it will be better. Other than that, this car is awesome. Handles very well in dry conditions, good pick up and go. Back seat leaves a little to be desired, but if you wanted a back seat you would get an Altima. The back seat is big enough for a car seat, and maybe one adult. This car is absolutely great for 3 seasons,

I like the looks and engine has decent pep. The manual transmission leave a lot to be desired. Had nothing but problems with the manual tranny. The gear ratios don't seem right and shifting gears is problematic, hard to do and often caused grinding. I've driven stick for 20 years and never had this before. The Audio system is overrated, for the price. The dealer turned into a #@$ after the sale, when I complained about the transmission.

A great car for the price - you'll swear the engine's not a 4 banger. I'm 6'1", and the head room and leg room in the front are plenty roomy. This car loves mountain roads - the tires are nice, until you wear them out from spinning them on fast starts... I just bought my Sentra XE a month ago. I had a 1994 Mazda Protege which pretty much decided to fall apart on me at 70,000. For the money, you can't go wrong with the Sentra. I just wanted basic equipment at a good price. At $13,200 with A/C, AM-FM-CD Stereo, Armrest Console, Coin holder, All Cloth Seating, and Automatic Transmission, how could you beat that? The 1.8L DOHC has some good muscle because of the 126lbs torque at 2400rpms. As well the car is very comfortable on the highway with very little wind noise which most compact cars do have. I highly recommend this car to anyone.

Fantastic deal for the price. 2.5 liter Altima engine in a car this size/weight makes it feel like a mini-muscle car; can burn rubber from a dead stop, acceleration from a stop is awesome and power going uphill and passing from speeds from 55-75 m.p.h. is amazing. Handling is excellent with sport-tuned McPherson struts and strut tower brace up front, improved torsional rigidity of the body due to 3rd member, large anti-sway bars front and rear and multi- link beam suspension in rear.

My Sentra now has 4100 miles and I am having problems already. I feel like the car is impossible to control at high speeds. As far as the summertime, the AC completely kills any power the car has. It makes merging a nightmare. Have taken to turning the AC off (our turbo switch) to get that power back in a merge situation. The sunvisors on both sides are completely inadequate. There is WAY too much space on the driver's side windshield wiper that is not wiped away (it makes a big difference when you can't see). My ABS brakes are starting to grind already.

I got mine with the Synergy Package (bigger wheel/tires, better radio, spoiler, fog lights, map lights, cruise control) and still got a great price. It's loaded with features. Mine was a lemon, it was built with an alignment problem. The reason why I would give this review a negative one, is that the car company, should be more helpful in getting you into a car that built correctly, they are just interested more on how they are going to loose money rather than the safety of your family! Not that great on gas also...some other issues may be a problem (it gives too much power when pressing on the gas that the tires screech)........buyers TEST IT WELL before buying it

I test drove the top of the line Honda Civic, the 2003 Corrolla S, and the Ford Focus and this car hands down blew the competition away! It is very fast, and a total blast to drive. The sun roof is quieter than most at 70 mph. If you like acceleration, you will like this car. I presently have 7,900 miles on it and only one factory defect upon delivery. (The auto trunk release did not work). Nissan needs to advertise this model more. If they did, I believe they could corner the small car market. I never would have considered a Nissan for this size car if it wasn't for a friend of mine that advised me to check them out.

this car is fun to drive and has more than enough power for a mid size sedan! There's only two things i can say about the spec v that i don't like. One is the second power source next to the emergency brake can't be used at the same time as the other one or your turn signals and hazard lights will blink extremely fast. Nissan still hasn't come up with a solution. The second thing is I feel they gave up on designing new tail lights for the spec v. The new maximas and altimas have them why can't we. It seems that all models of the 2002 sentra have the same tail lights.

I test drove a GXE in April but was not impressed with it, however I was impressed with the SE-R. In July I found payments higher than I liked and was persuaded to test drive a GXE with the Synergy package. I was amazed that there was a difference in the driving and feel of the car. I was trading in a sport suspension car that hugged the road and wanted the same in a larger car. This drove almost the same. I had a power sunroof installed and am totally in love with this car. The hp could be more making it better but otherwise it's a great car. Don't quite understand how the "stone" color is tan though.

I bought this car looking for a sporty, fun car that I could still drive my friends around in when we go out. The four doors are great, but the engine is unbelievable. The key with this car is the torque available to you. The powerband is huge, and the car goes when you want it to. Turning is no problem with the added struts, and launch times are low. My best on my second ever 1/8 mile run is a 10.28. Basically, this was a well designed car with great modification potential. But if that's not your bag, no mods are needed...it's a stock rocket!

Bought my Nissan Sentra Spec-V on July 16, 2002. It has been a pleasure to drive … ample power, handles great, stylish, fun to drive. Love the six speed stick, the interior is very cool and it is the best car in its class for the money. However, it only has 318 miles on it and it has been to the service department 2 times already! Currently it is in the shop to repair the clutch noise and because the engine is knocking. Sounds like a diesel truck when I start and turn off the car. Other complaints – gear shift takes some getting used to (a little stiff and plasticy) and the rear end styling could use a touch up to match the ultra- hip front.

I must say this car hits the spot for bang for the buck. I just replaced my first spec-v after it was totaled from a head on collision at 35+mph. I walked away with only sore muscles and nothing else. The whole front end was smashed in but there was not damage done to the interior. I must hand it to Nissan for building such a safe car.

This car is one of the best cars you can get for the price you pay. There is no other car on the market that can do what this car can do for under 20K. It's got great acceleration and it's just fun to drive with six speeds. The car handles smoothly and the seats are very comfortable. They hold you pretty well in place when you make those sharp turns. And for 17" wheels, the ride is extremely quite and smooth. The interior is spacious and there is a lot of trunk space. The car is big enough to fit 4 while sporty enough to have fun with. The gas mileage is good too for a car with this capability.

Well I bought this car about 3 months ago and Im very pleased with it so far. I really like the exterior styling opposed to the older sentra's. One thing I dont like is the power, I wished it had more. I know there is the Se-r and Se-r spec V but 126hp in isnt a enough for the GXE. The 2000 sentra Se even had around 140hp. I think Nissan should have kept that horse power in the GXE for 2002. But overall its the most reliable car you can get. I would much rather have this car than a 2002 Honda Civic any day. I recomend this car to anyone who is thinking about getting a economical car that isnt over 20,000$

This car loves hills (thanks to high low end torque) and curves (thanks to the best balanced sport suspension on the market, in my opinion). It is unbelievably fun in the curves. For 16,500 you can't beat this car. It's so fun and yet so practicle. I average 26 mpg. Changing the muffler to a ravin performance stainless steel and putting in a Holley Performance drop in filter which will give me about 10-12 hp. The muffler is 215 at midas, and the filter was 38 at advanced autoparts. The holley pn is 221-14 and outperforms the k&n by 10%.

Needed: a long-term reliable commuting car, quick and fun, for a little money as possible. At $18K fully loaded, there's no decision to make. Key attractions: Altima engine, big for the Sentra class, delivers serious torque without a turbo- or super- charger; 6-speed; handling-oriented suspension; and driver interfaces for real drivers (seats, steering, etc.) Strangely, while this car is clearly targeted at the 17-25 demographic (black-netting-over-orange fabric, Rockford-Fosgate stereo w/ trunk mounted kicker box), it only comes with 4-doors. Fortunately, Nissan did a great job of giving the dull Sentra body a totally different SE-R look.

I did alot of research into all the other makes and models and test drove almost all of them(no american manufacturers). In my opinion the sentre se-r gave me all of what i was lookin for at the best price (17,200).Yes there are minor things that are not great about the car but, when you compare it to the competition they become irrelevant. Do yourself a favor and test drive one.

This is my second Sentra I have owned. The first one was a 1986 model and took me to 186,000 miles before the tranny gave out. Already that says something about the Sentra's reliability. So far, this car has been great!! It's very quiet on the highway, the ride is very comfortable and has enough power to get on the highway. The handeling on this car is great. We've driven the car from CT to VT and got there on just under half a tank of gas. The trip is about 260 miles!! Amazing! The styling of the car is just beautiful. It reminds me of a miniature Mazima (one of the reasons we bought this car). Overall, I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

Smooth, powerful (as a small car can be) and handles like a sports car. My only gripe is the styling. Now if Nissan could make the Altima look and drive like this, they'd have a real winner.

All of the controls are easily laid out. I got the moonroof and spoiler and the side moldings on this model really gives it a sporty look. I thought about getting the Rockford Fosgate option but the standard 180 watt CD system has a lot of booming base in its own right. An overall excellent car for under 20K!

And after you purchase one you will do the double take back at your car in the parking spot and smile. Feeling like I got the best car in the lot. (figuratively-$$$) I need not say more. I almost turned into a salesman trying to get all of my boys to buy one. It is that impressive. Sunr/f, Audio Fanatic, 17in, Spec V, got in 11/2001 19000 after tax title

I have really enjoyed my Nissan Sentra. I think it is also a relatively good deal in comparison with most competitors such as the Toyota Corolla or the Mazda Protege. Handling is very nice and engine performance is very much to my satisfaction. That engine purrs like a kitten when it idles and growls like a leopard when performance is needed. Even in higher gears this car easily pulls you up on most gradients.

No problem at all so far and I just feel it could run forever trouble-free! I commute about 110 mile a day now and very comfortable with this car. Gas mileage is about 33 to 34 on highway with auto. This car really has the best overall value than any other comparable cars and its TCO (Total Cost to Own) is alos the lowest 5 years from now. If someone can please show me a better car that came fully loaded with a cd player, 6 disk changer, 9 speaker system, subwoofer, sunroof, front and side airbags, ABS, spoiler, helical limited slip differential, and 17 in flossin Enkei rims, I would really like to see. There is no doubt in my mind that this car kicks ***. I am a junky for the turn, and if you like to take turns at high speeds, then this is the car for you.

In comparison to the 01 SE 2.0, the new SE-R 2.5L is leaps and bounds better. Dead starts will decrease by at least a second. No longer does the cruise hunt between 3 and 4 on the highway. AT shifts are smoother, 40 more ft/lbs means less shifts for tranny. Lower profile tires mean a little firmer, sportier ride. On the downside, gas mileage seems to lack so far, upgrade 170 watt stereo is still average, bad Pontiac red instrument pod, "Gotta get used to me" front end.

i just bought the 2002 nissan se-r spec V about a week ago. this car i VERY fun to drive and VERY fast. the 2 things i don't like about it is the color of the seats, there all red unless you get the leather package and the dealership where i got the car (Colonial Nissan) gave me s**t about getting the floor mats that were supposed to come with the car. other than that it's a good deal!

Just purchased in mid-April 2002 from Libertyville IL. The sticker was $18,800 for the Spec V w/ audio fanatic & sunroof packages. Ended up paying $18,000 even, which isn't bad (vibrant blue). The 6 speed manual is great, a lot of power. The ride is a little rough, but that is expected with the performance suspension, but overall is not that bad. The 300 watt audio system is great, enough bass, but also has good clarity as well. Styling is cool, 17" wheels look fantastic, agressive- looking front end, and 4-dr still maintains sporty look while providing more room. Overall I'm very happy w/ my purchase.

If you are looking for a compact per- formance vehicle for around $20k, this car is PERFECT!! After driving a Honda Civic Ex for the past 3.5 years, I'm in heaven!! We're talking 175hp vs. 127hp. It MOVES!! After reading another consumer's review describing the Spec V as a "pocket rocket", pretty well sums it all up.

Drive it to believe it.

For under $20K my car can performs in a class with $40K competitors. Contrary to Edmunds own statistics, its capable of 7-7.1 second 0-60 times. Most 5- speeds will hit 60 in second gear, but the Spec-V is geared lower in 1st and 2nd and hence you must get into 3rd to hit 60 mph - but by that time you'll have a smile plastered across your face. The car feels solid, with a suspension that makes most sedans feel like SUVs when cornering. Dual anti- sway bars and a front strut tower brace lend rigidity to the frame. Edmunds says its styling is boring, but compare it to car makers trying to be cool with their wavy lines, and the Spec-V simply looks better.

Sporty features and better than average performance, for a car of it's class, have made this a fun car to drive. Both interior and exterior features are well designed and give this car a feel bigger than the compact cars of only a few years ago. My only complaint is that the suspension got much softer after driving it for 3000 miles than it was during the test drive.

I test drove many cars before I bought my SE-R. I test drove Cougars, Celica GT's, Grand AM GTS and the new 2003 Tiburon GT. They all were fine but none in them put a smile on my face the way this car did. It gives you all the power you need when you need. It gives you a great sense of the road with it's somewhat stiff suspension and can brake on a dime. At under $18,000 how can you go wrong.

I bought my New 2002 Sentra in December 2001 & I have had nothing but problems with it since then. I am dissappointed with the performance of the vehicle. At 200 miles the service engine light came on, and they had to replace my thermostat & gasket. Once the problem was fixed my service engine light came on again at 427 miles. Only this time the dealership had my car for 18 days. I have also had trunk release problems and the radio stations get bad reception. I don't know if I just got a bad seed or that Nissan isn't making quality products, but I am very unhappy with the car and would not recommed this car to anyone.

I thought this car was fun to drive. Great for what you put your $ into. Not as powerful as a V-6 but peppy enough. What can you expect for under $20,000..? This car drives very smoothly. I used to drive a 6 cylinder, so changing over is quite a difference. Backing out is in full view. I havent found a blind spot yet. Want to look for accessories though.. I have had my SE-R Spec V since mid January, and have loved it the entire time. You know you like a car, when walking away towards a long day of work, you look back 3 or 4 times before heading into the building. Sharp acceleration speed, even when already up to 80 mph+. Great road feel. A very nice stereo (Audio Fanatic Package) right out of the stock model. Me's love the car. PS: Its relatively cheap, for the way the car feels.

This car is so much fun to drive. I decided on the SE-R, not the Spec V. I don't think it was worth the money, plus the dealership were much more willing to come down on the price of the SE-R then the Spec V. The seats are great. I love the confidence i get when i speed into a turn. My butt stays planted to the seat, and i don't slide around! I previously drove a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. So the acceleration was stunning to me, but the amount of fun it was to run through the gears was quite fun. I love all the standard features you get with this car, to go along with the great power and handling.

I got my Spec V a little to soon so I had the pay the MSRP. Overall I like the way this car drives, the shifter is very nice once you get a hang of it. very fun to drive. the rims are nice but they chip very easly since they are painted rims. For the price and performance you have to give up some thing and I guess nissan was willing to give up workmanship. the paint job is not to good and most of the sentras are not painted under the doors.

Automatic, ABS & Side Airbags. Problems after 2 wks: rear fold-down seat locks missing; windows sticking; CD player skipped from day 1; map lights sticking. All minor but makes you wonder how well car has been designed/assembled. Took 3 days in a rental car and 2 trips to get all resolved; windows still stick. Tranny shifts out of 1st too early, can downshift roughly and slowly out of o/d and gets lost when you're on and off the gas. The plastic by the ignition and on door panels is scratched after 4000 miles. SE-R does handle great, gets decent gas mileage (22) and looks good but my ’91 Stanza with 138 hp and automatic would run circles around it. Disappointing. Shoulda looked at VW more.

This car is simply outstanding when compared with other cars in the economy sedan category! The SE-R comes with many great standard features in addition to its horsepower, and looks appealing. The car offers plenty of zoom plus the benefits of a 4-cylinder--great gas mileage! (I average 27mpg with combined highway/city driving) The car drives wonderfully-nice combination of smooth steering and that "road feel".

A pocket rocket with practicality too.

If you only care about getting from point A to B, get a Cavalier. If you enjoy the drive, get a Spec V. Precise steering & great seats let you carve corners w/ confidence. Power is always available. The Jetta 1.8T has a nice interior & great engine, but had a lot of body roll. The Impreza 2.5RS has good handling, but the engine didn't impress, even w/ similar HP. While nice, they don't to have the Spec V's combination of sportiness & refinement (& cost a few $K+).

I was trying to decide between a 2002 Accord or a Civic EX. Having owned preludes and accords in the past it seemed the way to go... until, on a fluke, I test drove the 02 SE-R. What a value for $17,500! It had the performance lacking in the accord, and the difference between the SE-R and the Civic is night and day. Value is apparent in that the SE-R comes standard with side molding, fog lights, spoiler, real rims. For the same price, the Civic EX gives you HUB CAPS of all things!!!

Test drove SE-R with auto tranny. Salesman said someone ordered it then brought it back 3 days later. I can understand why. Car is not as powerful as numbers suggest (165hp) Car did not handle well on turns on bumpy roads, the rear end losses grip easily and also likes to bounce around over rail road tracks. Probably due to the fact it does not have independent rear suspension like most cars in its class. I think it is over-priced for what little it offers.

I've got 5500 miles on it so far. It's been a really good car. Very fun to drive. The rear end likes to slide; but, it's nothing a better set of tires wouldn't fix. Seats are perfect. I took a 2000 mile trip and didn't have any sore spots. Shifter gets bad reviews; but, I got used to it very quickly. Only option I didn't get was the ABS/Side Airbags. I wish I had gotten the ABS, those wide tires like to slide on wet blacktop streets.

I've had my eye on the Sentra for some time now - and when I missed my chance to get an SE last year - it turned out to be the best thing. I hadn't sat in this car long and I knew I'd buy it. The interior is laid out almost perfectly, the shifter is crisp and clean, the acceleration spirited, and the value is exceptional. It is practical (4-dr) and actually roomier than most competitors.
