I've owned two of these beauties and will be sad when it's time to say goodbye! It's a great car with very few negatives. Easiest manual shift auto I've ever driven and it gets great gas mileage. It's a bit noisy but it's a convertible! Very comfortable seats, lots of leg room and did I say fun to drive???

First and foremost, I've driven civics all my life, including the latest, an 02 si. Finally, I get my hands on the S2000 and all i can say is WOW! Pure power delivered by a 9200 redline! There's not much more of a race car Honda could've designed. Its all that and THEN SOME! It handles beautifully, accelerates like a car on a mission! This car will give over 90% of the cars on the road a run for their money or even, a good taste of honda exhaust fumes!

I've taken my Honda S2000 to Laguna Seca twice already, and the car begs to be driven hard. I haven't had one problem with the car, just simple fluid changes here and there and it's good to go. The car handles like a go-kart, and the engine is a gem. For the money, I don't believe I could have purchased a better car in terms of fun factor. The ride can get a bit on the harsh side, but that's mostly on pretty beat up roads. With a good driver, you can pass up plenty of cars on the racetrack that costs much more, or has more power due to it's good handling and balance. Putting the top down on a whim is always fun. And last but not least, the gearbox is plain perfection, very crisp throws.

Very fun car to drive. Gets looks/compliments everywhere you go. People don't expect it to be a Honda, and tend to think it's a lot more expensive than it really is. Interior is a little cramped, but goes along with the territory of owning a 2-seater. Otherwise, the gauges/controls are very driver oriented. Light-weight / RWD / lack of traction control can get a little scary in the rain. Suspension is pretty stiff and not too comfortable. A true enthusiast's car, Honda did well on this one. I'd absolutely adore it if it were my weekend car, but since it's a daily driver, the stiff suspension and lack of traction control and torque can get annoying. performance - yes. Practicality - no.

This has got to be the best all around sports car I have ever driven, and I have owned many. Stylish body lines, suburb suspension, Near 50/50 weight distribution and what has to be the most powerful 2.0 four cylinder in production! Not to mention the 9K redline, and ability to sustain 26 MPG under my abusive driving. Some people have complained that there is not enough low end torque, but I say show me a four cylinder sports car with more. At 60 MPH in sixth gear I rarely have to downshift to pass. Has more low end torque than my fiance's civic Si, and weighs less too!

Fun time all the time.

If you like having fun when your driving then this is the car for you! I've had the privilege of driving some nice cars, but the s2000 seems to have the most "raw" feeling when driving. The handling is excellent and precise and the gearbox is extremely smooth. The interior is great and designed in such a way that you don't have to take your hands off the wheel to access any of the controls(audio/ac). Things to know before you consider this car. If you're taller than 6 feet then you might be a little uncomfortable. It's a little low on torque until you reach 6k+ so if you want power right away or without any noise, I would recommend something else. Everything else is preference.

This is about as perfect a sports car you can get for a relatively cheap price. Car handles amazingly (on dry roads) and is a looker. Subtle exterior design, yet always makes you turn around for a second look. If not for the dreary rainy Portland weather 6 months of the year, this car would be even more awesome. But then again, that's not the car's fault.

I had been wanting a roadster for sometime to take down the pacific coast highway. I began shopping a little over a month ago and hands down, the s2000 far outweighs the 350Z, Z3, Z4, Audi TT, and any American made convertible. The vTec kicks in and you feel it snap you back in the seat. The performance and reliability are second to none. To top that off, the styling is one off. Few people recognize this car and many ask about it. 240 HP in a 2800 lb car is simply amazing. Simply put, this car is the four wheeled brother of the Honda RR motorcycle series. I will not part with it, and am planning on getting another when I am done with this one. Plus, you can buy the hardtop!

9000 RPM in 3rd gear 100 MPH and 3 to go!

I loved my S2000! You have to look at what it is you are purchasing. a 2 door sports car. The car rides harsh, has a lot of road noise, and is not much fun with the top up. That being said, put the top down on a nice day, rev the heck out of the engine and put a wide grin on your face. For this car to require no more then fluid changes and tires it is amazing. I purchased the Honda extended warranty thinking that something had to give. 5 years later and 25,000 summer miles I never had a need to use it! If this is the car you desire I prefer the 2002, and 2003 model years with the 2.0 engine and glass back window with interior improvements over the 2000 and 2001. Later years had the 2.2 engine

From the first day I purchased my 2002 Honda S2000, it's been nothing but pure joy. I bought it certified preowned with 16,000 miles on it in Nov '05. The S2000 is definitely not a watered down sports car. When people ask what size the motor is, I reply that it's a 2.0L inline four. At that point in time, a certain look on their face says "ehh...it's probably slow then." Boy, if they only knew. I give them a ride, and a few trips into Vtec and they're hooked. Not to mention this is in a straight line, I'd probably make them waste their lunch on a windy road. The S2000 isn't the most comfy car in the world, but it's one of the funnest. True sports cars should be nothing less than fun

Not just a head-turner, but a performance sports car that handles with quick & smooth response. The vtech can become addictive at first and the owner needs to choose the time and place to downshift, step on the gas, and be thrown back in your seat! If you want to maneuver through traffic, you don't need to crank it up or slowly guide it to where you want to go, just do it! Reliable, well built. Have had no mechanical issues. Besides an extra set of tires, nothing but regular maintenance. Got great lines, power, and just downright fun to drive. Easy to get to know, and once you're connected, it becomes your extension to the highway. You can move or cruise at will.

I decided to have my midlife crisis at 50 years of age after all our kids were grown and gone. I leased the S2000 with no intent of keeping it more than four years. I bought out the lease this year. I can’t think of a greater rush than 8,000 RPM shifts on freeway on-ramps and ground hugging performance on the mountain roads in San Bernardino County (CA). This is a wonderful car for an enthusiast on a budget. However, if you are looking for a smooth ride and a quiet cockpit, this is definitely not your car.

The top is down and it's a beautiful day, you climb in open roadster style, you put your legs over the door and stand on the seat and then sit down in the low, yet comfy, bolstered seats that will hold you in while pulling VERY sharp turns, floor it all the way to the 9 thousand RPM redline, and then take the sharp turn that says 15mph at 40mph with ease. This is one fun car, I've owned a Carrera 4 and currently own a Porsche GT3 an the S2000 is the best deal out there, a drop top car with a slick shifter and race car suspension for under 35k! You put it on more than you get in it, its like youre favorite pair of jeans, everything else just falls into place perfectly. A very fun car.

Would do it all over again!

I love to drive and specialy in this car, it is like it is another body part. The car and you become one when you drive it. I have certainly had my share of cars and I have had the opportunity to drive just about anything, all except the McLaren F1. Many Ferrari's including the F40. But for shear fun, the s2000 is a very affordable, stable, fast and wonderful little sportscar. The frame is well balanced, the engine is like a small formula one motor, and the shiftpoints in the transmission are simply where you want them to be. This is a drivers car. This is my second s2000 and I would by another s2000 again.

I can sum up in one word what this Honda S2000 is, "COOL". It is registered and regarded as a car. But, it performs like no car that I ever had before. Its performance is more like a four wheeled motorcycle and is low slung like a go cart. It gets attention and looks wherever I take it. I wasn't exactly thrilled about running it on super unleaded gas at first. However, its stingy, strong running four banger gets me 26 to 28 miles to the gallon combined city and freeway driving. When I took it to my Honda dealer for its first service appointment, I was afraid that I was in for one heck of a bill. Surprisingly, my wife's Camry cost more to service. I am very happy with my S2000.

Since my high school days (many years ago) I have always wanted a sports car. For one reason or another I never got one. I retired two years ago and last month I purchased an '02 S2000. I think I have died and gone to heaven. It is a blast. It gets a lot of looks. I realize I have not had it very long but plan to come back to this site in a year and write a glowing report. It fits my needs perfectly. I was not sure about the Suzuka blue at first but it is growing on me. Impractical for everyday perhaps but for a fun car it is great.

This car is fast, sporty, gets lots of looks and positive comments and blasting around on backroads and even around town is a great deal of fun. Ride is good, handling is solid and the engine and transmission 6 speeds are an absolute joy. It runs great and handles very well indeed. S2000 is really fun to drive!

I've had this car for a full month now and I've got to say it is just exhilarating to drive. Such a stiff chassis and almost no lean. Hit the throttle and once it hits 6k you're in for a delight that almost feels like it should be illegal(keep hitting 9k in 3rd and 4th and it will be) You learn to pack light, and just enjoy the car. For those who complain that its bumpy and small, why did you buy an s2000? Thats not the point. If you want a reliable, fun, high performance drivers car this is for you. 6 speed is smooth, integrity is great. Change the factory stereo/speakers though, Tire performance is excellent but wear quicker. Your constant grinning will have everyone think your crazy!

I've had this car since February 2002, and it still puts a huge grin on my face. Even after three years of driving over potholed roads, the chassis is still tight - slight shaking of the passenger seat is the only tip-off that the car's not brand new. Engine's stronger than ever; shifter's still a dream to operate. I've installed a larger wind blocker for better top-down driving. I also removed the tray holding the tools for an extra cubic foot of trunk space. This car's therapy on wheels. It lacks the amenities of the competition, but it's a quality piece of work that rewards a focused driver.

This is as impractical but as much fun as a motorcycle. It's got clean lines and turns heads all the time. This thing revs like my R6. I have to admit that I need to take some driving lessons w/ this car since it's very unforgiving and I have had a couple of close calls when I sled the rear-end, it was a result of my inexperience with sports cars though. I'm very satisfied w/ this car.

I have driven it for 2 1/2 years, driven coast to coast, and 35,000 mi. per year. I have been in an accident, hydroplaneing, at 70 mph and walked away after hitting the concrete freeway divider, returning to the highway doing a few 360's then back to the concrete divider hiting it with the rear of the car. Damage? all sheet metal except the doors were replaced, I drove the car to the side of the road to clear traffic. No radiator puncture no oil leak. Frame was 3 drgrees out of alignement after it left the shop it was 0 degrees out. It has never been back to the dealership for any repair or fix anything.

I am 6'2 and 225 pounds long legged but can drive 200 miles in this car without killing me. Not comfortable but can withstand it because of the fun factor of diving. Mild mannered and fun to run errands in around town yet a serious machine come play time. I still haven't come close to the performance limits of this car which is kinda of scary to ponder. No body flex, amazing handling, Honda build quality, and reasonable insurance. If you want 0- 60 times look at the Evo. For all around performance and fun its right here.

Just traded in a 2002 Miata for a used (only 4000 miles) 2002 S2000. Seems to be in fabulous shape. I am only in my 2nd week of ownership, so can't say I know everything about it. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to trash talk the Miata cause it was a fun car. The S2000 is clearly in a different league. Funny how everybody wanted to race against my Miata, but I don't have many challengers in the S2000. I wonder why? I feel lucky to have landed this car.

This car is truly best-defined as "The sport bike you can drive." Or "A bike with doors." The electric top is a great creature comfort. The car is one of the best handling cars I've ever driven (including Corvette Z-06's and 3rd gen RX-7's). It's reliable enough to be a daily driver. The "lack of low end torque" has never been a problem, except when initially starting out from a stoplight. Once you get moving 10-15 feet, you can blow away anything around you. This car does just fine if you drive around town all day shifting at 4000rpm (not even half of it's usable RPM range).

It's just not possible to go 100 feet in my S2000 without breaking into an ear-to-ear grin that lasts for hours after leaving the car. This is truly, by design, a racing car. The S2000 does not really handle like a car--it's somewhere between a go- cart and a motorcyle. The engine is perfectly satisfactory up to 5000 RPM for driving in even stop-and-go traffic. From 5000 to red line at 9000, you go into warp drive. I missed buying a Porsche Speedster and a 356SC, I turned down a great deal on a 289 Cobra, and I passed on a Lotus Super 7. They are all in the S2000 with the reliability of a Honda. I will keep this car for the rest of my life.

This is an agile DRIVING MACHINE. It can't simply be called a sports car. It's no drag racer, but in all other aspects it excells. It is a great autocross car (7 of the top 10 B-stock cars in 2002 were S's). It should do well in all types of hard driving. I am a bit scared in the rain. The Bridgestone S0-2's are very soft and great on dry roads, but they have no center rain channel and tend to hydroplane. In Florida that is a big deal.

What started out as a weekend/good weather-only vehicle has now developed into "I-gotta-drive-it-every-chance-I- get" kinda car!!! Now, I crave that distinct 6500-9000 VTEC range. Tires go relatively quickly, but these and the car make amateurs like me look like F1 drivers. And if you spend a fair amount of time in VTEC, you'll be adding oil. That's a small price to pay, IMO. Then there's the whole "What- kind-of-car-is-that?" thing that makes you feel even better about your purchase. You will get over some people asking if it's a Miata, because some will think it's a Boxster. Both are wrong AND you can take both!

This car is so much fun to drive. I have driven and owned many cars and for the money, this car cannot be beat. Even below 6000 rpm the car is quick, but hit 6000 and you FLY. Drives like it is on rails and very comfortable (I am 6'1").

I have owned most euro. sports cars over the years and this Honda is head and shoulders above any of them. I was in the market for another German Spotrs car and while at the dealership I spoke with another consumer who couldn't stop talking about the S2000, reluctent to buy a Honda I went and drove one anyway and the rest is history, the fun factor is an 11.

I drove MG's and Triumph's for over 15 years. This S2000 is basically a modern MG-B/Midget (psychologically) with an oversized engine, leather, air conditioning, and vastly improved handling. Oh, by the way it also is ultra-dependable. The British automobile industry would still be in business if they had manufactured anything close to the S2000 (and they fired Lucas, the Prince of Darkness). A lovely car, a joy to drive. A bit tight, badly placed interior storage, acceptable low-end torque, and a horror in the snow. Easily a 9 on a scale of 10 (I've never driven a 10).

Closest thing to a superbike on 4 wheels. This little vehicle handles like few others. The low polar inertia helps the grippy tires to change directions effortlessly. Four wheel anti-lock disc brakes stop the car as fast as any other street vehicle. Below 6000 rpm the engine is just another 4 cylinder, but when the big cam lobes kick in at 6-grand, you'll think a couple of solid rocket boosters went off. silky-smooth 6-speed transmission keeps you in the power range when properly used. Loads of fun to drive. Rock solid Honda quality, through and through.

The Honda S2000 is by far the most exhilarating car I have ever had the honor of experiencing (I've driven cars such as the 300ZX, Porsche Boxster, BMW Z3, and Corvette). Not only does this car possess the handling of a true sports car, but also a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter engine pumping out an astounding 240 horses!

Honda made this car a showcase for its racing and engineering prowess, in the process creating a future classic. Plenty of other reviewers have it right: the S2000 makes few concessions in its quest to put a grin on the driver's face. The money went where it's needed most: drivetrain, chassis, and suspension. I actually like the all- business interior, and the seats are terrific. I've taken long trips with no discomfort. This one's made to be driven hard.

Not many miles but some things obvious quickly. Door doesn't open wide enough, makes it hard to get in and out. Several rattles, something I never thought I would say about a Honda. Shift from 1st to 2nd is rough, sometimes almost impossible in the cold. If you get a bumper scratched and need to paint it, good luck, they don't go back on properly again. This is a summer, top down, short drive toy car. Used that way it's a 10. Drive it every day and you may come to hate it.

S2K is so balance 50/50, make the handling so well. It definitely so nice to drive around the coast on HWY1 along the coast in CA. The car produces one the best Horsepower/liter. Think about 240HP in a 2 liter engine. Honda is also great for the engineering on the engine as well as the reliability... As long as you take care the car, it will run forever. I test drove over 50 vehicles trying to find one that would make me change my mind about buying an S2000. Anyone who says they need more torque doesn't know how to drive a high-rev machine. You can spin the wheels forever at a dead stop forever if you care to waste rubber. Shifting is smooth at all revs but don't try to skip gears at hi-revs. Tires don't wear...get the Dunlop super sport assymetrics at Tires.com for great wet/dry traction, anti-hydro and (relatively)long life...much better than the original Bridgestones. I wouldn't change much of anything.

This is the most fun you can have outside of sex! The power surge that you get when the VTEC cuts in takes you from "driving the car" to "just holding on" is a rush! And the handling was a pleasant surprise... my Acura TL-S feels like a boat now. Thr controls are easy to operate and well positioned for the most part... I'm not real fond of the cup holder in the console since it interferes with shifting when there is a 16oz cup in it. And the stereo is just okay. It could benefit from a few more amps and better speaker placement... the CD also has skipping problems, probably from the stiff suspension... not a sign of the quality unit that I expected.

After test driving one, I bought one not for the looks, but for its superb handling. I begged my wife to test drive it. Golf clubs fit in the trunk unlike the MR2. Seats are reassuringly firm, supportive when cornering hard. After 200 miles, I still haven't found a comfortable position to rest my left arm for any extended period of time (freeway driving). As everyone has already noted, running this car at such high rpm's is different- the ear has to adjust. Top operation is quick and easy. It's amazing that so many people do not even know what it is! Guess they haven't seen "Fast & the Furious."

This is one fun car to drive. If you want to rev, shift and run through the twisties this car is for you. It made me forget about my long lost motorcycle and even the C-5 I sold a couple years ago. In stock form I think it offers just about every feature you could ask for. With it's reliability, power convertible top, and performance, there simply isn't anything close for the money (why do you think dealers can mark them up and won't EVER sell them under sticker???). Don't expect the raw power of a V-8. The rear-end was defective ($7,000!). Honda stepped up and repaired it under the factory warranty.

I bought this car in December of 2001. Lust at first sight and Love at first drive. After six wonderful months with the car the transmission went sour. The dealership where I live, Allen Honda in College Station, TX claimed the car had been abused and therefore would not be covered under warranty. For sure, I drive hard. But... The car has never been on a race track, I have never missed a shift at high rpm, etc. etc. FYI, the Honda Customer Service rep. told me that shifting at redline can be construed as abuse?!?! Needless to say I will never own another Honda for the rest of my days.

I have had the car about 5 months and it was run perfectly. The fit and finish is excellent. The transmission and engine are extremely smooth and feel like a formula I race car. The 9000 rpm red line really is a different experience. It takes a little getting use to the powerband being in the 5500- 7500 rpm range. Not a lot of space but then again I didn't expect much. I did upgrade the speakers and add an amplifier to ensure clearer sound at highway speeds with the top down.

I gave it 10's on everything except interior design and comfort. If you're over 5' 8" and over 160 pounds, it will be a tight and short fit, but well worth the snugness and shortened visual height (w/ top up). Wish it had seat height adjustment. No need to repeat what everyone has said about the remarkable engine and even more remarkable body and handling characteristics. A pleasure to drive, and I love blowing away BMW Z3's, M Roadsters, Audii TT's, and Porsche Boxsters (including the Boxster S!). Unbelievable peformance value, but need to find an honest dealer. Bought mine for 2K over MSRP last year.

If you want a fun car with lots of stares - this is the one!! It has great pick up speed but not too much torque so you can drive fast without feeling your heading for light-speed. Handles well around corners. Easy to use automatic convertible system. Not a lot of extras in the inside- it's simple. just a great driving car!!

I'd had my red S2000 for quite some time now. I've driven from Santa Barbara to Las Vegas several time, to the Red Woods, and San Diego. A treat every time I get to drive it. And in my opinion..... a Red S2000 is the only real S2000.....!

I’ve been driving sports cars for decades, but the Honda S2000 is the most impressive vehicle I’ve driven in the price range. I’ve tried every other modern car in its class (Porsche Boxster, Audi TT, BMW Z3, Miata, MR2), and none of them create as much pure excitement, hair-raising speed, and surgical handling as the little Honda. My MGB has not been out of the garage since I brought the S2000 home.

Just got my S2000 and it has exceeded expectations. This vehicle takes getting used to.....its bumpy, loud, and a little tight inside (esp if you're 6'1''). However, I wouldn't trade it for anything! The acceleration after 6000 rpm is incredible and it doesn't even break a sweat when cornering @ 45 mph. And for those who were wondering: 1. just enough room in trunk for 1 set of golf clubs (ping hoofer bag) 2. plenty of head/leg room for driver/passenger up to 6'2'' 3. great gas mileage 26-27 mpg ciy. 4. if you're self conscious then don't buy one b/c everyone STARES!

For those who think a 4 cylinder normally aspirated engine can't be a thriller - you are WRONG! Take a 2 liter 4 cylinder, put it on speed (9000 rpms) and you have an incredible rush. The sound is sweet. Above 6000 rpms the sound is incredible. Think of your favorite Formula 1 arcade game, and place it into a real vehicle. The sound - the cockpit - the feel.

There is no bigger thrill-ride available on the road today. Hit the little red button, use your fingertips to shift the flawless stick, and let it rev. When I got in the cockpit I first got a positive impression of the car, but given time, other things came to my attention. The Car's performance would satisfy me if the price was around $25,000 because let's face it: 240 horses isn't extreme power by anybody's standards. I was dissappointed by the car's lack of power more than anything, although other aspects of performance were better.

I know that sounds crazy, but after testing a Viper, Boxter, and NSX, I had to settle with S2000 - it's faster then the Boxster (which I just proved the other day), it turns tighter then the NSX which I didn't think could be possible, and it's just more then 40% of the cost of the Viper. The S2000 is actually a little difficult to learn to drive correctly, it really does require practice to shift quickly and keep the RPMs up between 7500-9000 but who else short of indy cars can say that they get to do that.

This car is simply awesome. I test drove several competing vehicles, including bmw m roadster, mercedes slk32 AMG and porsche boxster s. The fun factor on the honda beats them all - you can't help but to smile when driving this car. Mercedes comes automatic only, so though a bit faster than S2000, a sports car with an automatic is an oxymoron, and Mercedes felt heavier/less nimble. The 2002 BMW M a bit faster than Honda as well, but loses on handling, as I've helped to prove on the autocross circuit. Boxster S very similar performance, and some say easier to drive Boxster S faster, but a good driver in each car, and it's anybody's race, drag, track or autoxx.

The new kid on Hondas block is very much making a statement. A formula one wanna-be is actually close to the real thing. Obvious styling cues have been taken from Honda Racing Division. Not too surprising, considering some of the boys at Honda Racing had a major voice on the engineering aspects of the car. Bottom line... next time ANY type of Mustang pulls next to your S2 at the line, have no fear, S2000 will lead.

To anyone interested in buying the S- 2000.It does have some short comings in creature comforts. However, it is the most fun I've had in any of my 13 cars. It is almost like a four wheeled motorcycle. If you can find one, drive it. If you have to pay over MSRP, do it. I did and I sell them. It's worth it. Break it in right. This is the highest quality Honda I have ever seen and I've been around them since my '88 CRX Si. I traded cars with my friend Jorge, for a day, and his Boxster is no match....Don't bither spending $10,000 more for a Boxster / SLK / TT, etc...The M-Roadster has a little more guts, but the S-2000 makes it all up in the corners.

Just picked up my 2002 S with silver/black. What a car! I have owned a '97 328i and '00 540i, and I can tell you that the S is the most fun of the three (with much lower maintainance costs). The engine is a blast, but the suspension is what puts it over the top. Cornering at 40 mph is dream, interior is minimalist and slick. I am sick of paying the status prices according to BMW, Mercedes and Audi. They do make excellent cars, but nothing they make in a roadster can touch the S (having driven the M roadster, SLK, and TT). If you love to drive, this is the car.

Those looking for wood interiors, heated seats, and traction control shouldn't look at the S. The S2000 is everything the 60's British roadsters aspired to be . . . but without all the fussing to keep them running. Throw in cornering ability that was unheard of back then, an engine that revs to 9 grand, and every trip to the store is an adventure. Some have groused about a lack of low-end torque. This may be true if you are comparing it to a V8, but next to many other cars, the Miata for one, the Honda has more torque. Certainly power below 6K is not awe inspiring, but it is adequate. Above 6K - - unbelievable!

Above all else S2000 is meant for fun, driving fun. It's not the fastest. It is one of the best handling with excellent brakes. To accomplish it's main objective, it has an engine that begs you to push it harder. It's chassis dares you to dive into the turn a little faster. Like a mistress it's not good for more mundane things like picking up your mother in-law from the airport. It excels as a second car that you take out on the weekends and nights when the journey is meant for the soul. This is a sports car. Be sure what you ask for.

Very tight inside, in fact it is close to being uncomfortable. Because of the high revving engine and convertible top, this car is very loud inside. The car is fun to drive on curvy roads but you have to keep the rpms high to enjoy the vtec engine. This car is quick, but does not feel like it due to the lack of torque on this vehicle. The Honda S2000 is a front engine rear wheel drive convertable two seater, and yes, it is a HONDA! This car is amaizing, it handles like a dream, is very quick, and you can drop the top in about 5 seconds. My main dislike is the radio. The radio is completely inaudible if the top is down and you are traveling over 45 mph. the lower marks I gave the S2000 were for interior design and comfort. The radio is bad, and this car is not made to be comfortable, but to be driven hard.

When every dealer around was gouging customers I found one that sold the car at sticker price - no hassles. Performance is terrific, but the ride on city streets is almost unnacceptable and the engine make a lot of (not unpleasant) noise. But, once at speed (and if you own an S2000 you'll be at speed any chance you get) the car is in it's element. The ride smooths out and everything just feels right.

This is the only roadster I found for less than $50k that offered the combimation of extraordinary handling, good acceleration and the build quality and reliability I demand. I also considered the Boxter S and BMW M3 (but not the M roadster). The ride quality is very acceptable for a roadster, and the well bolstered, form fitting seats are superb. I opted to add rear speakers to improve the sound system.

Fun, sleek and reliable.

My silver S2000 with red leather interior has been trouble free ever since I bought it in January of 2001. It has averaged very good gas mileage (for a sports car) and outstanding performance. When I took it to the beach last summer, it averaged 30 mpg over 500 miles of highway driving! The only complaint I have is with some minor vibration noises coming from the top and poor visibility through the plastic top window. Other than that, the car has been a joy to own.

Cool.
