After 5 months of experience driving this truck, I can truly say it runs better than most new cars today. There is plenty of effortless power that comes through the 4.7 liter engine, however an extra gear would be helpful when accelerating up an onramp while towing. Driving the truck can be wiggly on very bumpy roads, however a majority of the time it just floats down the road. While stopping quickly from a high rate of speed, there is a noticeable shake coming from the pedal, but that is a common problem. Overall it is a very powerful and nice riding truck, and it is much safer than other trucks from the year 2000.

Bought in 2004. 68,000 mi. Now 160,000 mi. Contemplated trading for '07 Tundra, but couldn't. Love it too much, plus its paid for. Drives like a Camry. Comfortable. Quite too. Only had to replace radiator and valve cover gaskets. No other issues. Only gripe is the front brake rotors warping every year. I can switch out the front rotors in 30 minutes I've done it so often. Interior has held up very well. Known to have transmission issues with OD gear. I never tow heavy loads like my 30' RV in OD, but I tow a 12' cargo trailer full of tools and sometimes cabinets all the time in OD. No issues so far. Needs paint job, but that's my fault. Never once washed or waxed it.

My dad gave be the truck when I went to college in Virginia. It's been great! I drive there and home 4 times a year. Thats 1679 miles from Wyoming to VA!! 25 1/2 hours and it's still running great! I love it. I also pull the horses, not to school but locally. I would definitely buy it again.

i love my yota, i am always looking for things to make it look better. The build isnt very sturdy how ever. The thing will dent easily and will be crushed like a tin can if in a wreck. Also it seems a little low. If you put a leveling kit on there however, that truck will look mean. It sounds fantastic with pipes. Oh and it tears through mud, even for a 2 wheel drive truck. Need new tires and the brakes need work but overall a fantastic truck. It has been through alot and always finds a way to crank up. When this baby finally quits on me, im going straight to the dealership and buying a new one. The back seat is too small, but im always driving and im a big boy, and i fit in there just fine!

Bought truck used in Oct. 2005 with 76K and have driven daily since then. Unfailingly reliable and built like a tank. Drives like a big Camry, far better than our Honda Pilot. Hauls anything in reason in total comfort. It's a bit of a gas guzzler, but what full-size 4wd pickup isn't? Can't wait to upgrade to a newer model!

Sold my 93 4WD pick up with 233,000 miles. Purchased this for $8500 with 111,000 miles. After driving it for two month and through three blizzards I must say I'm impressed. It's eerie to drive through 3 feet of snow in almost total silence. I found the original invoice, close to 36,000. This is the Limited model with few features. Everything works as it should and the ride is much better then I expected. On highways you really don't know you're in a truck. Not a luxury ride but pretty good. In the meantime I look forward to many more miles. You can't expect to have a truck and not have maintenance costs. None so far but I believe in preventative maintenance.

I bought this truck new and started having problems after the first year. Wiring harness under spare tire burned off,the frond drive housing was not properly tightened and stripped the threads causing the 4wd to be replaced. the dealership said it was fixed and it happened again,so i took it to a back yard mechanic and he fixed it again replacing the frond drive AGAIN. Then cracked manifolds. check your rear bumper it is also probably rusted off. MY LAST TOYOTA.

I love Toyotas and will always own at least one. 100% reliable is why they get my business. However, this truck is weak and a total gas hog. Not made for pulling anything heavier than a jon boat. Look for to owning a full size Tundra.

I have over 130k on my truck and it still runs like a champ. I've never had any problems with it... not even one. I only change my oil once or twice a year and I beat the heck out of it but can't seem to break it. I'll own this truck until it dies and then I'll buy another Tundra. There are some minor changes that I made. I added a rear leaf springs because the stock one was two light for hauling loads. Also I didn't like the look of the front end pointing downward so I added body leveling rings. Finally I added some tougher looking wheels.

Since purchasing this vehicle about 2 months ago I have had nothing but a great experience. This is the Limited Edition with leather interior. Even though the vehicle had 112,000 miles at purchase it looked new outside and minor wear on the drivers seat. Although the gas mileage is nothing to brag about it's about what I expected and could care less. On the highway it's like driving a semi-luxury vehicle. In parking lots it's a beast to park but that also doesn't bother me. In short for $8500 I feel like I got a great deal. I'll drive it until it hits 220,000 miles and at that point it will still have value.

I have a 2000 tundra, it just rolled over 290,000 hard miles on the ticker and it is still going strong original engine and tranny, beat that big 3!!! Had to replace the coils 20k miles ago and after that she's a new truck!

Ball joints went out without any warning of indication they were bad. The drivers side suddenly dropped to the ground. The brake routers have not held up very well at all. My 4 wheel drive went out, had to replace a small electrical box by the passengers side floor area. 2 Ignitions coils went bad and the CD player suddenly stopped working. I have had the truck serviced by the dealer every 3 to 5 thousand miles. I called Toyota and they said sorry, and that was it. I think I will go back to Ford!

We bought the truck new 2/09 it was teeboned at a inter. Bent the frame only about a foot in from front. It was a total. It ran great to that day no problems. We just bought a new 2009. We will be looking forward to keeping it for life. We really loved that Toyota feeling. I replaced the front brakes only once at about 5000 we put 2 sets of tires on it and Toyota replaced the front axles. Rear window, and oxg sensor. Never pulled, always ran true. Ended up with 77,000 mi, still could be a great truck for someone.

So far so good.

I just recently purchased this truck, however, I am impressed at how well it has held up. I've caught up on required maintenance. Though expensive, I should have many thousands of miles to look forward to without having to pay for repairs. Ride is great, I forget I'm in a truck.

Bought with 36k in 2002. Only problem is O2 sensor went out but I elected not to fix for $300. Runs fine. Other than that still runs like new, comfortable on the road and does what I need off road.

Ever since I bought it, this truck has been nothing but reliable. The one problem I have had has been with brake rotors. After turning the existing rotors and eventually replacing them with new ones, I've pretty much given up on a shake-free ride. However, on rough terrain, I have never owned anything more solid. My Dodge diesel feels like it's going to disintegrate if I get off the pavement, but not the Tundra. It has decent power for such a small V6, but the fuel economy isn't that great when taken in context with the small body size. I can get 20 mpg. if I baby it, but other than that, 17.5 is about average. 24-25 mpg. in high altitude, though. This is one tough little truck!

This truck is great and will really go through the snow. Fun to drive but a little heavy on the gas. Biggest problem is cracked exhaust manifolds. Took truck to Toyota dealer and they want almost $900 just for the manifolds plus labor and gaskets. In doing some internet research this seems to be a standard problem and Toyota refuses to acknowledge it and take care of the problem. This is the first time I have known Toyota to not cover a defect. Remember they bought back all the Tacomas with bad frames but they refuse to take care of this. I love the truck but I can't say my next truck will be a Toyota.

I bought this truck brand new. I've owned a Ford F150 and a Nissan pickup. This has been the best truck by far. The ride is more like driving a car than a truck. The V8 has more than enough power; I pull a trailer for work and never had any problems pulling up very steep inclines. I use this truck for hunting and have not gotten stuck yet (2wd). I have 117,000 miles and still drives like new. Other than routine maintenace, I've had to replace 4 O2 sensors three on front and one on rear; there are four total on the V8. The factory toyota front brakes rotors will only last 30,000 miles. I got an aftermarket set which came with a lifetime warranty and are holding up better.

This was an excellent vehicle for my family. I purchased based on the history of quality and safety of Toyota products. It was an excellent truck. I recently was hit at a high speed and rolled it at least twice... and I was safe and secure in the cab with minor bumps and bruises. My next vehicle will be another Tundra.

Seatbelt doesn't retract well. Seatbelt retract-stop button broke off, easy use no abuse. Co2 sensors bad, relaced myself -then recall- but $0 reimbursement < refused by Toyota dealer because I did it myself and they went bad before recall. Head gaskets leaked and expensive to replace gaskets -desing/bolts. OEM Brakes went out early, as per typical.

I bought my Tundra in mid 2002 with 44K miles. Drove it approx 35K per year pushing oil changes to every 10K. Replaced one set of front rotors, one fuel pump (it was blowing the EFI 1 fuse) and one set of spark plugs. It was an outstanding truck. I say was because it was totaled in an accident with 206K. Had it not met an early demise I believe it would have easily rolled 300K plus. I missed it so much I replaced it with another one with a young 148K on it.

It's not all that it is cracked up to be

Many problems with the brakes. Was told the axle has to be replaced to fix the brake problem. Exhaust header gasket replaced at 50,000. Panel light burnt out as did the rear license plate light. Went through 3 starters. Paint was very susceptible to scratching. Brackets holding front wheel well trim corroded in under 70,000. Oil dipstick was the wrong length. Door screws come loose. Electrics in drivers door replaced.

I bought mine with 50k on it. Now it's 90k. Had to replace shaking brakes at 60k. Otherwise no problems, it runs like new. It rides very comfortable and quiet at any speeds. I used to average 19 MPG, up to 22 MPG on highway at 80-90 mph. But now I put 1 size bigger tires and I'm down to 17 MPG, 19.5 MPG highway. I have tonneau cover too. This truck rides effortlessly anywhere you take it.

I bought my tundra used with 78,000 miles. It was like I was in a new truck, and was very pleased. Until I started having problems with the oxygen sensors going bad. I rated the reliability low because I think Toyota has dropped the ball with the experiences that I have had with the oxygen sensors.

Prior to buying a Tundra, I owned a ford 150 and paid about 3000 dollars less then the Tundra. Over the long term comparison, the Tundra out preformed the ford 150 in every aspect. I enjoy the performance of the Tundra and over the seven years I have put very little money in to repair bills. I have followed all the specs for mileage requirements and my truck looks and runs as well as it did the day I drove the truck off the lot. I plan to keep this truck for another 7 years.

This truck is the greatest truck I have ever owned. I drive a minimum of 120 miles a day. As a Contractor I have owned a truck from 1967 to date. This is my first Tundra; I have worn out seven fords. My truck has 180,000 miles, So far I have replaced the tires, the brakes, the battery. The most drivable and best built truck I have owned. And it looks great.

I've taken this vehicle to Tahoe many times. It handles great in the snow, takes the corners like a dream and it's a smooth ride. I haven't checked out the newer models. I plan to keep my 2000 for a long time. I have 134,000 miles on it. I have the oil and filter changed every 4000 miles. I've had no problems at all.

This was my first purchase for a truck. I was originally going to look at the Tacomas but once I glanced at the Tundra it was love at first site. Then after I test drove it there was no going back. I wouldn't even consider test driving any other truck. I've had my Tundra for six and half years and it still drives like it's brand new. I've had absolutely no problems with my Tundra.

I bought it with 30k miles and now have 60k. No problems except for CD player skips and brake pedal squeaks when depressed. Otherwise runs great, runs smooth, just like when I bought it.

After about 6000 miles the truck started shaking when I stopped. I took it back to the dealer who did a complete brakes job. It drove great for about another 8000 miles then started shaking again. In total, I have had 3 new rotors, 2 new drums, 2 new front calipers, including the last time when they installed the updated brakes, just before the warranty ran out. now it still shakes when I stop. The dealer tells me there is nothing htey can do, since it has all the latest updates for the brakes. Also, the exhaust manifold leaked, and the check engine light has been on 4 seperate time for various emission problems that have totaled over $900.

Great Truck if you don't plan on pulling.

I've had Toyota before and this is no different. Great quality, good ride, etc. BUT, the trailer pulling capacity is by no means what the manufacturer says which is 7000lb. Pulling a 6000 lb trailer with OD off will cause the tranny to work some serious overtime. Suggest don't pull anything more than 5000 lb MAX and thats with a small set of tires and preferrable 2wd. Other than that it's a great truck.

This is also an update to our 2000 Tundra SR5 V8 4x2. Just finished 150K mark on this. Some time ago performed spark-plug tune-up - bingo, this truck runs new like the first day I bought this Big Dawg in 99. Change oil every 5K and this Toyota keeps going 4eva! To date, this truck doesn't rattle, squeak, squeal, or rust. Recently put a another set of Michelin LTX. I do get about 17-18 MPG on mostly highway drive. I have used it to tow just about anything you can imagine (within ratings limits), impressive passing power even with full-load. At times don't even realize we have 5000+ pound trailer attached, power fools ya!

I purchased my Tundra new in September of 2000. Since then I have put 140,000 on it. Other then normal maintenance (oil changes, wiper blades, brakes) I have had only one expense which was an oxygen sensor. Replaced OEM tires with the BFG AT/KO's..love them. Definitely would buy again!

I posted originally in 2003 about the brake problem. Well it has become progressively worse. I can only go 1 year on the front brakes before the rotors go and the calipers get stuck. It is in the shop now for its 5th or 6th (I've lost count) front end brake, caliper, and rotor job. The truck is reliable -yes- but before I tow the horse, I have to have the brakes inspected for wear. They just don't hold up.

I bought the vehicle new. I have 105000 miles on it. For other than normal maintenance, the truck has been in the shop five times, four of which were oxygen sensors which were later recalled. The fifth time was for a water pump. Other makes of trucks I drove before this were in the shop up to 20 times in the first year. This vehicle rides and drives very well and is very comfortable to travel in. We have a 2004 Camry and I would rather travel in the truck. The body is solid with no rattles. The interior is not coming apart and looks as it did when we bought the truck. We love it!!!!

Constant problem with front brake rotors warping. No help from Toyota, turned rotors 1 time during warranty. After 36,000 miles, cost were my own. Occured about every 15-20k miles. Poor support from Toyota. Internet posting confirm that I was not the only one with the problem. Other than that no major problems.

This truck had the shakes. It went back to dealer so many times, I just gave up. Toyota did replace all four wheels, but it didn't solve the problem. Oxygen sensors went out around 30k along with the tires. I had to pay for the oxygen sensors, but Toyota repaid me 4 years later. The tow wiring harness melted. The paint job was very poor. You could thump it and it would chip. The suspension was weak, and you could hit the bump stops in the rear very easy. I installed Bilstein shocks & Timbren ruber springs to solve the problem. I never had a brake problem. The engine was superb. Very smooth, responsive, and did a decent job pulling. I got over half my money back on trad-in after five years.

Best riding & handling truck I've ever had. Liked the truck a lot. Suicide door arrangement was the most the most bothersome part of the truck. It was difficult getting things in or out of the back seat area having to have both side doors open, espeicially in a crowded carking lot. The Dunlop tires that came with the truck all failed within 27,000 mi. The belts shifted inside the tire.

This truck has been wonderful. I have been worried when I hear about the O2 sensor or brake problems but haven't experienced them. The vehicle will really haul, even with a full load and goes great thru snow and ice. My only problem has been the rear seat area...my kids were little when I bought the truck but have grown since and will soon be too large for that area. I drive a Chevvy Silverado at work...nice truck but the Tundra is a sportscar next to it...and much more fun to drive.

My Tundra has 85000+ miles on it, the only tie-up I've had is a tie-rod end on it...I think that it was hit on that side before I got the truck though. I've put on 50,000 miles, never a brake job (try ceramic pads if you have problems)..I tow a 3500# boat 1,000 miles through the mountians without a problem...other than the mpg drop. Avg 17mpg in normal conditions, 11 towing. No squeaks or creaks or anything at all to complain about.

I too had the brake problems from day one, front and rear. Also had both exhaust manifold crack. In addition, over the past year it began blowing O2 sensors on a regular basis. When the transmission began slipping, I had enough. The Toyota dealers refuse to believe that there is something wrong with these trucks. My last Toyota.

This is my second Toyota pickup. I have had brake problems since day one! I have had 3 sets installed already and now Freehold Toyota tells me this is normal! They didnt even have the phone number for the zone rep! I also have a very bad ticking noise when its cold started and I have heard that its a manifold problem I called Toyota direct and they told me nothing is coming up as far as any recalls are concerened! I know for a fact my problems are also shared with other 2000 Tundra owners. I want to get a new Tundra but im very leary now. Its a shame that toyota doesnt stand by their mistakes! They took my money real fast!

I am very disappointed in my 2000 Tundra. I have had brake work every 10,000 miles, $1,000's in other work and at 60,000 had to pay $1,600 to have cracked exhaust manifolds replaced. Both were cracked. Seems clear this is an engineering, maufacturing or installation problem. The most they would offer is to comp the parts, still cost me $1,000. I sold it and bought a much better quality truck, a GMC.

Have owned and loved Toyotas since '85. This was my first big Toyota pickup. It rides cushy but handles great and is quiet at higher (Colorado) speeds which run 75-90 most times. Reliability is perfect - hard to get better than that. Bought it used with 19K miles. Drove it 50K miles so far with just oil changes (synthetic oil) and 1 brake job - no repairs needed. Have to sell it cause I now need a salesman car not a construction guy truck. Resale value is great. Getting 18.5K now after paying 21K 2 years ago. Try that with a Chevy or Ford or Dodge. Snow and ice no problem w/4WD. In short, I love this truck!

Great truck to drive. This is the first Toyota pickup, I have owned. I have owned a Ford and several Chevy pickups in the past. I heard about the dependability of the Tundra and took it for a test drive. I was amazed by the way it handled. I haven't had it for very long, but am extremely happy with it. I bought a used Rav4 a couple of years ago and it has over 135,000 miles on it now and have never had to have anything done to it. I decided to try their pickup, and am glad I did.

I've owned this SR5 V-8 4WD extended cab for four years now and love it as much today as when I drove it off show room. This truck steps over everything. Logs, bolders you name it. I hunt and fish in WV and it has never had a problem getting me to and from. I have 76000 miles on it and only have had trouble with the front brakes. The dealer this year finally put the new 2003 brakes and heat shield on it and what a difference. Toyota picked up the labor and I bought the parts. I'm ready for another one as soon as they offer heated seats in cloth. Not another truck on the road with this ground clearance. Toyota quality is excellent.

1 Have 120k+ miles. So far no major mechanical problems. It does eat tires every 40k if you do not rotate. I do not believe the bad brake comments others complain about. I Change my front pads with Toyota orig. equip. every 60k and there is still pads left before the indicator. Someone is doing something wrong with your car if you have a complaint about quality or engineering. I built my house with mine.

I've gone through 2 sets of disk brakes due to poor design of brake components by Toyota - or some other unknown reason. My Tundra was repaired at 29,000, but the service department had received a "bulletin" that this problem (vibration in steering wheel during braking) would possibly occur. My previous truck was a different make, but I was able to drive 98k miles on the original manufacture's brakes.

I bought my truck used with 25000 miles. I knew about the brake problems and had my rotors turned at 35000 miles. They are already starting to go with only 40000. The brakes will only last about 5000-7500 miles. Then at 40000 miles the fuel pump went. I had to fight with toyota to get the repair and tow paid for. Eventually they paided, however, the engine light came on 1 day after the repair, and I noticed that a bolt was mising from the cab.Once again i fought with toyota to fix the repair that they said that I did. The truck is great, the first year, 2000, models have alot of problems. 31 TSB and 2 recalls.

That turned out to be a cracked manifold. Just got a check engine light. The dealer says it is an O2 sensor. They wanted $270.00 to replace it!!!! I am not falling for that one. This truck has been a disappointment. Toyota quality is all but absent. Granted it is the first model year, but it has far too many shortcomings. Overall quality is poor. The interior has squeaked and rattled since it was new. The suspension squeaks, chirps, and rattles. Teeth break off the spider gears in the rear end. Axle seals blow for no apparent reason. The transmission shifts hard into 3rd gear. Fuel milage and crusing range is unimpressive, After 4 years, toyota has still not solved the brake problem. The 4wd system is failure-prone. I cannot recommend this truck.

I've owned pickups from age 16 on. This one by far is the best I've owned. It rides like a car, but you can load it down with 2000 lbs. It has enough power, even when loaded, you do not know that you are hauling weight. It has a strong 4-wheel capacity to pull through mud, snow, ant the trail; again while driving like a car. I strongly recommend this vehicle for work, commute, play, or as a safe vehicle for the young driver. If you purchase one, you'll enjoy it! Also, it's a Toyota, reliability is never in question.

Really believe those Tundra crash ratings! Took on a 1 ft. diameter tree sideways at 50 mph. Tree impacted the driver's door right by my shoulder. Totaled the Tundra but zero damage to me. I find my 2000 Tundra Limited just an all around quality vehicle. I have owned Ford and Chevy trucks and I am pleased to state the Tundra is by far a better vehicle in all ways. The quality and fit and finish are excellent. The ride is much like a full sized acr, not the hard choppy ride of most 4 wheel drive pick-ups. The one area I hope Toyota has addressed and improved upon are the brakes. They seem to be poor and inadequate for this big vehicle.

I like the truck for it's looks and comfort but Have I had problems. Brakes are horrible designed. Have had three brake jobs. Throttle body went out, that cost $1200. It is in the shop right now because the check engine light came on. Turns out that there is a crack in the exhaust manifold due to poor metalology. Toyota is covering repair but in turn my o2 sensor went bad and there is carbon build up on my valves and "new" throttle body that they want charge to fix. Said Toyota does not cover incidental problems. Please, now I have to hash it out with Toyota.

I bought my Tundra used with 19K on it. I had my heart set on a Dodge Ram 1500. My wife (who sold advertisement to dealerships at the time) talked me into just test driving the Tundra. Wow was I surprised! Handled like a sports car! I now have 51K on it and the only thing I've done is replace a O2 sensor, cost $70 for a sensor and $10 for a special socket at Auto Zone. If you are like me and don't own a lot of heavy farm equipment this is the best truck for light duty. Even my friends who own the other big 3 think it's great, mostly because they've had trouble with there trucks.... :-)

Overall, this truck is a good buy. The only issue that I have had is with the brakes. I had to have all four replaced along with drums and such under warranty due to warping, glazing, and a severe shudder. Overall the Tundra is an excellent vehicle with one major exception. Toyota grossly undersized the brakes on there first full-sized pickup. Even worse they have been unwilling to stand by their product. I have 70000 on my Tundra and have already been in for my 3rd front break job with the fourth shortly following. They have finally come up with a fix, TSB BR br00402, which redesigns the whole system. They won't however offer any assistence to consumers for this suppossed fix. ($1200 + fix!!! for a design flaw)

AFTER DRIVING OTHER MAKES OF TRUCKS I BOUGHT THE TUNDRA AND LOVE IT. THE RIDE AND POWER OF THE TUNDRA IS GREAT.I LIKE THE CONTROLS THEY ARE GROUPED WELL AND THE SEATS ARE COMFORTABLE.THE TRD SUSPENSION THE TRUCK CAME WITH MAKE THE TRUCK VERY STURDY.THE 4WD WITH THE PUSH BUTTON IS A GREAT FEATURE.THE 4WD ENGAGUES VERY WITHOUT A SKIP. SO I SUGGEST THE TUNDRA TO ALL INTERESTED BUYERS.

78000 miles now. Bought in 01/2000. 3 years later I have not had a single problem of any kind. Had a 1995 r22 before this which I put 132,000 miles on before selling and never had a single item of maintenance on it either.

I have had brake problems from day one. Warped drums and rotors are chronic in the Tundra and covered in a service bulletin. Problem is, nothing they do solves the problem. I have had my brakes turned or replaced five times in the last twelve months. I expect the same schedule next year: a day at the dealer every two months.

I was very concerned with the reported steering vibrations when I was buying my truck. I just got 'something' installed that Toyota developed to eliminate the problem. I have no complains so far, my dealer was able to fix all issues for me, e.g. arm rest storage space lid flying open when upright, initial tire wear (got new Michelins) etc.

I've owned them all, chevy, ford, dodge, and Toyota. By far my best pickup for light-medium duty use. I don't haul passengers, so try elsewhere if you want lots of rear seat room, but otherwise this truck tops the others in virtually every category. And it's more reliable. Beware of pro-domestic truck fans who come on message boards slamming Tundras. I also own a 2002 silverado, so I think I'm pretty objective. The tundra is easier to drive and feels more in control. The Silverado has already had 2 major issues, too.

I've had numerous minor problems until summer of 2000 whereby the O2 sensor went & required the entire manifold to be replaced. Then the transmission started making a "klunking" noise around 60,000 miles. Dealer unable to diagnose the problem. Last week it broke down -- whole transmission needs to be replaced -- even worse, I don't even tow anything or haul heavy items in the bed. This is all normal driving usage.

I have a 2000 2WD SR5 Access Cab model. Excellent Build Quality, well thought out design. Plenty of Power. Is a little bit smaller than a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge, but you can still get a 4X8 Sheet of plywood in the back. My wife likes it because it's easier for her to get into. The back seat is quite cramped, and getting a baby seat in there is tough but do-able. I'd buy this truck again tomorrow if I had to choose.

Prior to buying the Tundra we owned a fully loaded 1996 4WD V6 Tacoma, which was a very impressive vehicle in it's own right. The Tundra surpasses all expectations -- comfortable ride, reliable, and great-looking. Ours was one of the first sold in GA and it turned heads, still does!

It does what you want when you want it to. Have had my truck for almost two years and the only problems I've had is a little shaking when braking (which the dealer fixed) and some squeaking with my belt. Has the power to peel out when towing a bass boat, charge up hills, and went up some "expert" 4x4 trails which the fixed up truckers didn't think I had a chance (since mine is stock). The TRD helped with the 4x4ing along with overall ride, would highly recommend.

I've had the truck for about 2.5 years, 38000+ miles without a snag. Only problem was the O2 sensor needing to be replaced, but was covered on warranty. The engine provides plenty of juice when needed, and the ride is great. Went to look at new F150s and Ram 1500s recently and decided I'd be better off keeping my Tundra. It's still a joy to drive. Planning on keeping until the crewcab comes out.

The Tundra is a great truck and will go the distance with proper maint and appropriate care. I have just passed 30000 with no major problems. The only problem i've had is a squeak in the rear suspension when passing bumps. Otherwise a great performer.

I own a 2000 Tundra SR5/4WD TRD Package. I purchased the truck new in Aug. of 2000.This is my 7th Toyota and the first one with any problems. The probelm is when the transmission shifts in to 4th geat it clunks. In addition the shift lever is very hard to get into park. I have had the truck in to the dealer where they admitted that the problem exists but since it did not show a problem on their diognostics computer. There was nothing that they could do. I am in contact with The District Manager and Toyota to resolve this matter hopefully with out litigation.

We upgraded from a 1992 SR5 4WD PU to this Tundra because our rough rock business needed a bigger vehicle. The ride is very smooth even off road. It pulls our trailer without problems, even when the truck bed is loaded with rough rock material. The interior is extremely comfortable and for the most part, the lights and buttons are located within visual range and within reach. Would, and have, recommended this model to those who ask.

The first 6000 miles - (bad rear springs). Non-stop creak in dash - never could be fixed. 30000 miles - dead in rush hour traffic. Police stop traffic and help me push it off the road - (fuel pump). 30002 miles - engine stalls at 55 mph in rush hour traffic AAAHHH! Glad to be alive! (Fuel flow regulator) 3 days later it blows the new regulator. The Toyota dealership calls Toyota for advise? As I write this review no one can fix my truck. I don't trust this vehicle in traffic. Time to trade it in.
