I've owned this vehicle now for over 10yrs. Bought it with 150K miles and have 265K now. I've only had to replace starter, glow plug solenoid & batteries. Plus regular wear items such as brakes, tires & shocks. It's been a very reliable, dependable truck!! Definitely have the 7.3 Powerstroke engine though.

I bought this truck off the first owner back in 2006 with 100k. I paid $14k for it. It is an amazing vehicle, with fit, finish and power. The paint is nicer then my new cars, no rust, no scratches, no dents. It now has 150k. I have done usual maintenance, water pump, fluids, brakes, tires. I HIGHLY recommend this vehicle. My only regret is that I didn't buy the Crew Cab dually, because then I could tow a HOUSE.

Highly Recommend this truck to anybody!

I own a 2000 F250 V10 Crew Cab. I bought the truck back in 2005 with 31,000 on it. I bought the truck to pull trailers. The smallest trailer I pull with it weighs about 5,000lb. the largest is 22,000lb. fully loaded. It does awesome. I get about 10 mpg. pulling the largest trailer at 65mph. That's pretty dang good. The truck has almost 130,000 on it now with only a couple small maintenace things. I've had to put shocks, brakes, surpentine belt, and tires on it. I constantly get compliments from people saying how nice looking the truck is. The truck does awesome off road too. We consistantly get 12-20 inch snows around here in the winter time and the truck gets around awesome. Way to go Ford!

We have owned our Working Ford to haul landscape equipment up mountains. Strong, Reliable. We hauled our home to Vegas and now driving it on the beach and recreational with our kayaks and to go fishing. We Love Ford Trucks, always owned them. One of the few investments that have turned out good for us "middle Class" folks!

Upgraded from a f-150 what a change this is what driving a truck should feel like 7.3 P.S.D. great motor pulls anything you can hook it to. Exhaust, intake and, chip make it a whole new truck. Couldn't be happier with a vehicle.

Ive owned this for 10 years and have ran up 56000 miles. I use it mostly for towing and it works incredibly well for that purpose. The only problems I have every had with this truck were self inflicted. With a lift and bid tires one of the hubs went out at 45k mi. Washing out the engine compartment lead to a shorting COP (coil on plug). Its been a great truck.

Hardest working truck I ever owned. In 7 yrs and 150,000 miles the only repairs, out side of standard service items, were ball joints, 4 spark plugs blowing out of the head and the front left universal froze. The the 5.4 has pulled over 8,000# with barely a whimper. In the hills of western PA that is a real job. I have pulled trees, traveled to the bowles of earth and traveled to 1/2 of the States with it and always made it home. I blame the spark plug problem on the mechenic that did the plug change. I tapped and inserted heli-coils in the bad holes and had no furthed problems. I replaced all the plugs my self at 140,000 and have not had further problems. So I am sure he did something wrong.

While my wife has her little car, this is our main transportation for highway use, and it's my only form of transportation. We bought it a decade ago to pull a 30-foot 5th wheel camper, and that's been its primary "truck" use. Problems included a half dozen or so glow plug replacements, some kind of clutch problem (warranty) and a couple minor (cheap) glitches that resulted in limping to the dealer. All were fixed quickly.

It's been good to me

This truck pulls anything I hook up to. It has 169000 miles and still going. Wanting a crew cab now. When I had younger children this was great now my son is 6ft not as comfortable for him now. Where crew cab would be great for anyone. The V10 is great. I will buy another Ford and probably keep this one. Not worth much as trade but great for work

Only problem to date was cam sensor went out while covered under warranty. Great handling truck! Pulls 30' fifth wheel travel trailer just great. Had to replace original sport mirrors with the extendable trailer mirrors for better view, though. That's just the way it came, didn't order truck, bought off lot.

I love my truck. It's big enough for me, my tools and all the heavy and big stuff that I carry around town. Although I see people complaining from harsh ride on the road when not loaded, mine rides extremely soft and comfortable even with bad shocks...hehehe. With 140,000 miles on it the Diesel is still ready to work; no mechanical problems whatsoever. Telescoping mirrors stick out a little too much and kind of hard to maneuver around tight spaces, but excellent view for daily driving and tow. Excellent interior, comfortable, roomy, you sit like a king above the crowd!

This is our work truck. Used to pull heavy fifth wheel loads. This truck had the optional v-10 engine. Loads of power. Gas mileage was horrible (about 9 mpg, 4 mpg when towing). Overall this was a fairly reliable truck. Truck had 75,000 miles upon recent trade-in. Problem areas: clutch went out, u-joint problems, steering stabilizer, bad seals in tranny. I personally don't like the way the truck handled on the highway. Felt squirrely and wandered quite a bit. Good clearance for off roading though.

Verry sturdy platform for a work truck and not to bad as a daily driver. the only thing i wish was better was that i only get 13.6 miles to the gallon no mater how i drive. other than that i see myself driving this truck for atleast 10 years

If you are going to be in areas requireing a working truck with a dependeable 4 wheel drive system - THIS IS NOT THE VEHICLE FOR YOU. FURTHER MORE, WITH INEPT SERVICE DEPARTMENTS I DOUBT FORD IS THE VEHICLE FOR YOU AT ALL... I live in Colorado where your vehicle can mean life or death - my truck left me stranded three times. The last time nearly cost me my life - that is no exaggeration!

This is the most versitile truck I have ever been in. It's great for work or play. It soes suck on fuel economy, but it more that makes up for that in its ability to pull extra heavy lods, such as a 6 ton wood chipper without bgetting bogged down.

This is a great truck for someone who has a lot of miney for gas, and also who does not have kids. The backseat is not large enough for a carseat and if you but one in the back you can not raise the middle seat up. It averages about 12 miles to the gallon it cost a bundle to fill up. This is not a truck I would pick for someone on a budget or who has kids. Otherwise if you just need a farm truck it would be great.

My Ford ownership experience is tarnished by the following incidents: 1. Brake rotors serviced 7 times(the 3rd. new set of rotors is currently on front). 2. Exterior paint failed and required repainting. 3. Front ball joints failed. 4. Front hubs failed. 5. Power steering pump failed. 6. Water pump failed. 7. Suspension bushing failed. 8. Currently there are suspension problems developing in the front and the hubs do not engage automatically.

Great Truck. I have the 4 door gas v10. Lots of room inside for wife and kids. Hauled everything I've had to so far. The trans shifts hard in low gears, probably due to all the miles. Has great power. Even though I'm a Chevy guy, I recommend this truck.

I traded a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD for the 2000 F250 Super Duty. The Power Stroke Motor gives me 20% better fuel economy than the Chevy. I feel that the Power Stroke has more get up and go then the Chevy 6.0L motor. In my opinion Ford makes a better Super Duty truck. It looks good and feels more rugged all over.

Ford has the best interior layout - the controls are easy to see and reach without searching. The only interior negative is that Ford always places the electronic 4WD switch in a way that you cannot see what position it is in on automatic transmission vehicles when the shift lever is in Drive or Overdrive. Ford trucks are harder riding but longer lasting. If you want a cadillac with a cargo box, buy chevy. If you want a truck that says "Is that all you got to haul?" buy a Ford F-250.
