Year: 1999 Rodeo 2wd Engine: 3.2L V6, Manual Transmission Mileage: 326207 Any major problems: None I bought Her reluctantly brand new with only 40 miles on Her. I had just started a new job (which turned out to be my career), college and my son was 3 at the time. My dad told me I should get a more reliable vehicle and he picked it out and said he would help with the down payment if I got it. I hated it. Did not want a stick shift although I did want an SUV. So I bought it. It turned out to be the best purchase of my life. Watched my son grow up from his car seat to the driver seat in Her, and She carried my second son home from the hospital when he was born in 06. I kept Her up pretty faithfully with my oil changes and tune ups. I have to do a better job with flushing and replacing coolant and transmission fluids; I have done that at about 2x. But NO MAJOR PROBLEMS. Just got a new catalytic converter in 2013 costed me $600 just to pass smog. Other than that I did most of the work myself starter 2x, alternator once, fuel pump, and brakes once (just the front never had to do the back ones yet). Had the AC compressor replaced a couple times, after this summer it may need it again. The fuel gauge had been broken for years but just replaced the fuel pump a couple months ago and it is working now. I have used Her as a commuter from Sacramento to the SF bay area for 6 years. She is still my commuter but now I only work 30 miles away from home. Thought She was a goner a few days ago; all of a sudden She started smoking on my way to work and heard noise coming from the engine. I was sad. But turned out to be a broken Idler pulley. Got her back on the road the next day. She is still going strong, feels like I can get another 300k miles out of Her!

Like a Timex, takes a licking...

I bought my '99 Rodeo in 2000 with exactly 30k miles on it. I am now at almost 350k miles. This is my 2nd Rodeo. At 100k miles, I had to replace the clutch for $1100. That is probably my biggest complaint about the Rodeo. GM built the engine, and clearly they wanted to insure repair costs were ridiculously high. Even to change the thermostat requires removing the manifold pushing the cost at a shop to over $150. On most cars, replacing an $7 thermostat takes all of 5 min and a screwdriver. I also had the rear diff assy replaced at about 150k miles. Bought one used for $500, been fine ever since. My Rodey blows 4Runners, etc away going up I-70 to the mountains every weekend.

Have had this car for 185k and I'm pleasantly surprised that it's still kicking. Sure, repairs have been needed, but the transmission and engine are still good. The 2 major issues were a defect where the steering column wore through a brake line (covered under warranty), and the ECM on-board computer failed at 165k, causing the engine to missfire and transmission to go wacky, took a while to troubleshoot that one. But overall I'm super pleased with the longevity, versatility, ride, cargo capacity, and perfect size in this mid-sized SUV. I'm planning to retire the old boy at 200k, and I'm having difficulty finding a similar sized SUV with a V6 and the same interior space/cargo room

I purchased a used 99 Rodeo just before I became a mom.....giving up my truck. Safety was the #1 factor, and love that it "Frame on Chassis" not unibody. Now with over 185,000 mile on it, it is still the most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. As with the rest, the gas gadge went out...drop the tank and add a new one....and it was worth my sanity. For girls who love trucks, like to 4x4 in the snow, or have to haul a trailer, I wouldn't drive anything else. Was actually rear ended by a Chevy Surburban once, and the tire on the back absorbed both the impact and damage. I also drove it to the bodyshop. As all cars, alternator, starter, h20 pump replaced. 185,000 mile though...and counting.

Bought my 99 Rodeo about 7 years ago "used" with 30K miles. Been the BEST Auto I have ever had and I have owned many ...... !! Serviced and changed oil regularly as scheduled. Now has over 135,000 miles and still runs great and is nice and tight. Only repairs made during my 105k ownership aside from tires & brakes is a starter replacement and gasket leak to sealed transmission about $400.00 cost. and a couple of batteries. Made many long trips it is a pleasure to drive. Average Hwy 21 mpg at 70 & 75 miles an hour. Wish I could find another with lower miles would buy it in a heart beat ..... You gotta shoot-em to kill - em ..... Great Mid-Size SUV ... !!

The day after I purchased this SUV at 63,000 I was replacing parts. That should have been my warning, but I really liked my Isuzu. The truck has a lot of problems that maybe a handy person can fix themselves with the help of a junk yard. I have had to replace problems including both catalytic converter$, oxygen sensor, tires, brakes and rotors, cv boots, the windows don't roll up and or down, Ac, gas gauge fluctuates on a full tank will blink as if on empty and out, power steering pump broke, burns excessive oil, horrible on gas, keyless entry had to be replaced, and heat shield had to be removed. I have owned my truck for a few years, now at 126,000 mi.

I purchased my Rodeo new and used it as my main vehicle for 8 years. One of the main things I was looking for was the ability to transport my bicycle inside the SUV, yet have a mid- sized vehicle that was easy to handle. The Rodeo has met every expectation and at 112,000+ miles, I am still very happy with it. I have honestly not kept up with the scheduled maintenance as the Isuzu dealerships come and go in our town, but have done the general oil changes, etc. There have been very few problems with it, and the only real negative is that it only gets about 15 - 18 miles a gallon at this point.

I bought it September 2007 with 73,000 on it, currently I have 85,500. It's a reliable little suv, and I wouldn't give it up for any similar suv's. I've only had two major things done on it, drivers side axle was cracked, was caught in time, and I had the engine flex pipe changed. Mine does eat up oil for some reason, I can't complain about this car, it's pretty much perfect, if they still made them I would buy a new one.

I bought my Rodeo brand new in 1999. I have had it almost 10 years now. I have been very consistent with maintaining the vehicle. I get the oil changed every 3k miles. I had it tuned up at 50k and 100k miles. I now have 139k miles on it. I am starting to have to replace things. I expect this with a car that is almost 10 years old and has high mileage. It was not fun to replace the air compressor this week! However, how long should one last? At least I don't have a car payment! :)

Two weeks of owning this SUV and the infamous EGR code came up. I tried everything, cleaning out the intake holes, an intake fume flush kit and finally changed the EGR valve. 160.00 NOPE, and then the fuel gauge problem where it would drop to 0 and the light would flash. So I took the dash apart and placed black tape over both of them. Voila. No more lights ever again and back to happy motoring.

I bought a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo last August, this car has given me so much trouble. I have had to replace the starter, tires several times, 2 door latches, EGR valve, throttle position sensor, headlight assembly kit. I have tried to keep up the maintenance on this car and it is a money pit. I love driving it, and I love the comfort of the interior, but this is just not a reliable car. Also, the car idles very high around the 3 rpm's in park and around 2 in drive and reverse.

Purchased car used. Engine is very reliable over the years. Major problem with the axle (breather tube) over heats. Replaced twice. Isuzu was aware of these problems with their car. With exception of axle problems, just normal wear and tear maintenance performed over the years. Mileage never reach potential as I would only get 14 to 20 miles/gal.

I got it when my base model 96 rodeo was dying (almost 300000 miles), and it was everything I wanted in a vehicle. I love how it still feels like a truck instead of a car and it gets up and goes in a pinch. The 5 speed is greatly welcome. My gas gage is one of the few that still works, but it burns oil and its fuel pump is dying. But it's got great room and is fun on long road trips with my friend.

I absolutely love my Isuzu Rodeo. I really never wanted a 4-door SUV because I didn't like the looks. I have not had one problem in over the year I've had it. I bought it with 139,000 miles, and it now has over 148,000. It drives like it's 2 years old, and never seems to let me down. I'm thinking about getting an Isuzu Ascender after this one bites the dust.

Since I bought this truck in May of 2007 with 182,000 on it, I never had a problem except changing the oxygen sensor which the truck had when I bought it. It has remained very reliable ever since. One complaint though is that the front seats are not that comfortable on a long trip. Will still get another one to keep since they don't make them any longer. A real bargain for a used SUV. Buy one and you will be happy.

I purchased my Rodeo new and have loved every minute of owning it. I have taken great care of it with regular checkups and changes. I am at 225k all orig. parts. I live in the country on a farm and work 30 miles in town and it has served me well. The great part is it is still going. I have just recently purchased a small car for work and to save on gas but have no complaints with my Rodeo. It has lived up to it's name in all aspects and I am sure it will go well over 300k.

It had 50k on it when I bought it used in 2006, ABS was out already, but I have no problem stopping in regular or normal Winter conditions, I have added cold air intake to increase mpg/power. 205 hp/217tq are not impressive #'s but it feels a lot torquier than that. I believe I bought a good one (except ABS thing) but Buyer Beware there's badly built ones out there. ISUZU didn't build consistently.

Bought the Rodeo used with 70,000 miles on it in 02. I put on 70,000 in 6 years -- I had to take the car in a couple of times to the Isuzu mechanic for factory recalls, which is cool because it's free and the fluctuating gas gauge and broken gas pedal were starting to get to me. Other than that nothing major. A/C needs recharging every 3 years ($40 a pop -- not bad). And as for the squeaking this car notoriously does, I just took mine in to get every bolt tightened and the squeaks are gone. Should only cost you about $50 if the mechanic is as honest as mine. Ha!

I purchased LS 4X4 new, in 1999. With just over 90,000 miles, it continues to look great and run well. Some of the paint has been "dinged" by off road work. I've been pretty fanatical about keeping a good wax coat on it. Nothing unusual - normal wear items replaced (brakes, tires, shocks, battery). Because the dealer has an excellent reputation, there are many of these running around town and most drivers say they are happy. Gets about 15mg in town, 21-22 on highway. If one really needs an SUV, this is a good deal, given low resale price compared to 4Runner and others.

I bought my new Isuzu Rodeo in 1999. At 25,000 miles, the car died in a car parking lot, could not get it started. Contacted the Isuzu Customer Service to get Road Side Assistance and waited for more than 2 hours; no more showed up. Eventually managed to start the car myself and drove back home; gave the car to the dealership to fix the problem, but they could not find the problem. I ended up on telling them how to find the startup problem and they have no clue how to fix it and they ended up erasing the computer system in the car and reprogramming it. At 52,000 miles, the fuel gauge is gone. At 56,000 miles, the tires were gone. At 81,000 miles, the transmission went bad.

I've had this SUV for about 4 years and it has less than 100k miles on it (only 28K being put on by me). I would never buy another Isuzu. The following has gone out or been replaced: gas gauge stopped working, front and back brakes and drums replaced, in dash CD player rebuilt after eating my CDs, rebuilt the transmission, all four tires, shocks, air conditioning compressor, and the water pump. It was in the shop 3 months ago with a bill over over $1,000. There's now something wrong with the anti lock brakes as the car keeps shimmying when I apply the brakes. It rattles and squeaks all the time. A great SUV if you want to repair it yourself.

I purchased my 1999 Rodeo LS V6 4WD new with 68 miles on it. I currently have 121,000 miles on it and the engine is still as strong as day one. The vehicle is great for trips due to the size of the seating and cargo area. Mine has the tow package and the vehicle excels at towing. My vehicle has never let me down or left me stranded. The engine is rock solid. Note, I have always taken my vehicle to the dealership for major maintenance (30K, 60K, and 90K) which has kept the vehicle running in top shape. I would only recommend an Isuzu Dealership with a Master Isuzu Mechanic. At any rate, my Rodeo is still rolling very well!

This car serves its purpose of getting me to the mountains or on long freeway trips. I don't see it as an in-town car and don't use it much for that. I can easily drive it 16 hours straight without discomfort, so not sure why others complain about comfort. Even mountain driving has averaged 20-22 mpg, so again not sure why others get bad mileage. It's not a love affair, but I've had no repairs and it does what it's supposed to do. Granted, a set of Michelin cross track tires smoothed and silenced the highway ride like I could not believe. No rattles yet, and everything works. Compared to my Honda Accord, it has been a charm reliability wise -- no living at the dealership.

Bought used in 3/05 & had problems right away. Fuel gauge broken, ABS light always on, rear lights all messed up, & hard down-shifting. All were fixed at the dealership's expense at the tune of $800.00! I have replaced rear wiring harnesses & sway bar links for $300.00. Was told by great garage of unusual 1/2-inch sludge on transmission magnet ... very bad sign of huge transmission problem. This was discovered while in the shop for a new solenoid. Seems like problem after problem. Shame, because it's a roomy, fast ride. Seats are hard and the spare squeaks all the way down the road on the back tailgate. Would not recommend. Not worth the money or hassles.

I have owned my 1999 Rodeo LS 4WD Auto since July 1999. The vehicle currently has 112,800 miles. The vehicle has been through several service bulletins (all covered by manufacturer), but no major mechanical problems. Still using the original engine, transmission, rotors, A/C, heating, power windows, fog lights, suspension. The shocks will get replaced soon. The fuel gauge/fuel sending unit needs replacing ($300). Overall a great vehicle. I have done all of the servicing at the dealership, and they have done a great job maintaining the vehicle. When buying a Rodeo, remember that it is not a car based SUY. It is built from a TRUCK and rides like a truck. Thus, the vehicle is very durable.

Overall, I would say I am happy with my purchase. I bought it new in '99 and although the manifold cracked and muffler broke off (under warranty) and had a few recalls, the vehicle has been very reliable. Especially when I replaced the stock Goodyear tires. It was a deathtrap when it rained. Unfortunately, I have 81K miles and I am afraid it's nearing the end. Gas millage is going south, gas gauge is on it's way out, seat is breaking down, oil burning, and it was not designed for desert heat. I had some rubber pieces melt and/or break in the last year. The service guy told me years ago not to keep it over 60K miles, and I see why. Overall, it has served me well, but not built to last a long time.

I purchased this vehicle new. The paint was defective from day one; rust permeates throughout. Dealer also failed to take responsibility for what it called "paint swirls" which were really a bad paint job. Car shakes constantly, probably due to rotors which have been machined twice. Worst fit and finish of any car I have ever owned. The car strangely idles at a high RPM. Defrost function works terribly. Terrible mileage, even by SUV standards. Burns oil. Seats are uncomfortable. There are cars much cheaper than this which are much better in quality. If there were any justice in this world Isuzu would be bankrupt and out of business. I wish this manufacturer nothing but the worst.

I was rear-ended on the interstate. The offender hit me at an estimated 55 mph. I hardly felt a thing! The design really held up! A small problem with the O2 sensors was quickly cleared up, otherwise ... no major problems. I love my Rodeo!

Probably the best SUV around.

bought new in 99'. replaced fuel guage $500--at 40,000 miles---at 25,000 the manifold gasket went which kept the car idle at 4,000 rpm--try to stop when your doing 55 on highway, almost killed myself, fought with isuzu to replace it or i was going to take them to court and papers---they fixed it the next day, obviously they know there is a problem, other than that the car has been fine, love the ride, the looks, and the truck comes in very useful to haul stuff.---you get what you pay for---i would not recomend this truck nor will i buy isuzu again. life is a lesson and the lesson here is stay to the top 3 manufacturers--honda, toyota, and nissan

In a two month period I replaced 2 power window motors, stereo, (which quit working)1 front end part and a thermostat and radiator in hopes of resolving an overheating problem, which later was diagnosed as a blown head gasket. The truck only has 52,000 miles and still under the drive train warrenty-so I thought. I was denied the warranty for several reasons: 1) I didn't take the non warranty work to them. 2) They said I must have overheated it to the point of blowing the head gasket and would not confir with the shop I had the work done to verify that I was not negligent by driving while overheated. 3)They claim that Isuzus do not blow head gaskets. $1500

No problems for 2 1/2yrs. In the last six months the fuel gauge has broke, excessive oil burning, shuddering when changing gears, musty air conditioner, rattling back window, bumpy shocks, back speaker broke, seems to be getting louder everyday. I have not had to replace or pay for anything outside of regular maintenance, except recalled items(under warranty). It was great while it lasted but I believe theirs problems coming. Time To Trade at 80,000.

I was really happy with my Rodeo for the 1st 4 years, then it was downhill. The ABS module was replaced & right after, my fuel gage stopped working-something that is a $295 fix. The needle stays on "E" & the gas light never stops flashing (it started last August & I put black tape over it & use my tripodometer to know when I need to fill up). Now my AC stopped working & they want $1400 for a new compressor & $995 for some valve that goes with it. Lately my gas mileage has gone from about 20mpg to about 14mpg. We bought it hoping to have it for at least 10 years or more. Apparently Rodeos wait until the warranty is up to start falling apart on you.

Don't get me wrong i'm not saying that an Isuzu can equal a Mercedes in anything except price but for the money spent there is not better automoblies avalible.

I have been having problems with the car right from the start. 1st yr, a side door wire short. Had to leave my car with the dealer for 4 days before they could figure it out. 2nd yr, the electric on the remote key entry got screwed up. 3rd yr, The problem with the wire short resurfaced, the dealer kept the car for 2 days, the car was out of warranty, left me with a bill for 500. 4th yr, an engine noise started dealer said, carbon build up in the engine, fuel light always on, another 350 bucks...rear axle seal rupture. Did the 60k servicing, out for 1500 bucks, engine noise persists. Last year itself I have spent 2500 for the car. FOOBARED DO NOT BUY.

Motor blew up @ 75000 mi. Dealer told me it was a common problem w/ Isuzu "you either get a good one, or you get a bad one" I got a bad one. lucky for me I bought the extended warrenty. took 8 wks to replace engine. There were 6 new isuzu in for new motors at the same time. This is my second Isuzu truck. The only thing I've had to deal with so far was a failed hydraulic pump for the ABS (brake system), NOT a safety issue and was replaced for free under recall. If you have a 1999 Rodeo have the dealer check to see if you have an effected vehicle (they do it by VIN #) and have the thing replaced before it goes out (it's a freebie to you), Isuzu did not and probably will not send out recall notices on this because it is not a safety issue. So much for the FYI, overall I've been very happy with this vehicle.

This vehicle has been horrible! At only 90k miles, I had to replace the brakes, calipers, rotors, manifold gasket and the sending unit inside of the gastank. In addition, most of these parts are dealer items only and cost 3 times as much as most other SUV parts. Can you imagine paying $245.00 just for a sending unit inside of the gastank, not to mention the 4200.00 labor to put it in. I have never had to replace this item or a manifold gasket on other vehicles and some I have owned for 14 yrs, with close to 200k miles!!!

It rides well, has excellent pickup (I love stomping on the gas and passing at 85), and I get 20 miles per gallon with the V-6. It was unbeatable for the price. I have used this vehicle for the last 3 1/2 years for my sales calls. It has performed flawlessly. I've changed the oil every 3000 miles, added gas and tires when needed and finally put on a set of brakes at 132,000 miles. I just got it back from the mechanic for some routine maintenance and the only thing he changed was the serpentine belt, the original were still in great shape. See if your Doctor tells you that on your next checkup.

Purchased the Rodeo because my 2WD Ranger liked to bury itself in boat launches. Pros: Great job in snow up to about 36". Great on icy roads. Does a good job of hauling the boat and is adequate with a 6x12 Uhaul. Good cargo and passenger capacity. Excellent visibility. Does very well off road. Has been very reliable for 50k miles. Both dealers I've dealt with have been good. Cons: Had the ABS problem at 45k miles. Seating is uncomfortable on long drives.

$1,200 THIS MONTH in repairs not incl $320 to replace fuel gasket they claim needs to be replaced. Gets more expensive the higher your mileage. Nothing falls under warranty; customer svc non-existent. Once vehicle hits 50,000 miles, get out your checkbook. Check engine light on, transmission jerking, erratic/rough shifting. In shop 4 days, no loan car. $300 that trip. Engine light on again in 2 days, another $400 & 2 days in shop. This time svc dept had to call Isuzu to figure out all the error codes. 2 days later car won't start; $520 for alternator! Ridiculous parts prices. Bought new in '99 with ext.warranty; runs like a 20-yr old clunker.

I had to have the clutch replaced at 22000! I have driven stick shift cars for over 15 years, and never had a clutch go out that fast. My 96 GMC Somona was a 5 speed; had over 120,000K - and I traded for this crap! This truck rides horribly - you feel each and every bump. The original stereo was a piece of crap. It's had at least 4 recalls. It does get very good can mileage - about 20 MPG. The worst thing about this car is the devaluation! My car was purchased for about $19,500 in 1999. The car is currently in Outstanding condition, but is only worth about $5000 per Edmunds & Carmax - so I'm stuck with a car that I'm about $2000 upside down on.

This has been the worst car I have ever owned. Two weeks after I purchased the car new, the gas pedal broke. The next thing that broke was the lever used to recline the driver's seat. At 48,868 miles (11/02), the ABS module went bad. At, 55,886 miles, the intake gaskets on the engine are leaking which is causing the 3rd cyclinder to misfire. Additionally, the AC compressor is going bad and the sending unit in the fuel system is bad causing the feul light to blink continously and the gas needle to stay on empty. DON'T BUY IZUZU IF YOU WANT VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY!!!!!

My starter and battery died and had to be replaced. My right speaker blew I dont play loud music! Same aforementioned problems: 1)Erratic idle -- vehile lurches forward randomly. 2)Minor tap on bumper (airbag did not deploy) and it shattered into 1000 pieces 3)Fuel Sensor died at about 50K miles, dealer refused to fix under warranty 4)ABS light is on. Not sure what the problem is yet -- they're looking at it now. 5)Major problem with wheel bearings. Entire rear end replaced under warranty. This one was so catastrophic they couldn't ignore it! Have over 70k miles on my Rodeo in nearly 4 years and it has been a mixed experience. Love the acceleration, rugged looks, and generous cargo space. Hate the defects like broken gas gauge, faulty ABS indicator, and worst of all - DISASTROUS BRAKES. On wet or bumpy road surfaces in a quick stop, this truck is GUARANTEED to slide, twice causing rear- end collisions and many more close calls. Not safe so is now reduced to the status of a station car. Depreciation has been rapid also. Fast and fun, but in my view, not worth the risks.

Has an irratic idle problem which even the dealer can't seem to fix...causes car to idle at higher than normal RPM. It's totally random, never know when it will occur. Because of irradic idle, when car is stopped or trying to stop, it will want to lurch forward, not allowing you to stop properlly and promtly. Very scary. At ~30k miles, ABS motor went on and kept running until it drained the battery. At 53k miles need to replace fuel sender (~$50 part, 2 hrs labor). At 56k ABS light is on and need to replace entire ABS module to fix ($250 part, 2hrs labor). Loud muffler. Doesn't handle well in snow or rough mountain roads. Will not keep much longer.

I bought my Rodeo from Carmax with 16k on it after a year. Until recently I have had only minor problems-the cassette deck would not eject (fixed under warranty); the check engine light came on at 25k(took it to the dealer only to find out that the gas cap was not screwed on past 3 clicks more than 9 months before - before I purchased the vehicle); when unlocking the rear door with the key, I broke the lock. Then the rear window would intermittently jam - this one took at least 6 dealer trips to fix. Now at 65k, the ABS has failed and the check engine light is on. I want to buy a toyota truck.

Seems to wear a lot worse than other vehicles I've owned, at only 30,000 I had to replace the fuel sending unit as well as a number of lesser items to the tune of $700... replacement parts are much more expensive than similar vehicles and it seems to need to go into the shop for a few hundred dollars worth of work every few months... parts take longer than average to be obtained as well. We won't be keeping it long.

Overall I like this vehicle. It could have a little more giddy-up under the hood. Good acceleration to 50, but then you may as well get out and walk. Performs great off road and under water.

Make sure the dealership replaces a wiring harness when you take your Rodeo in for the "abs" sensor fix. Replacing the sensor will not fix the problem. I have an LS with a 5speed. Pretty quick for small suv. My biggest complaint is loud interior noise. Only reason why I would trade my Rodeo.

For the price, this was not a bad buy. Got a 0.9% int rate too. Not the best vehicle, but also not the worst that I've owned. I had more problem with a 96 Ford Explorer than with this Rodeo.

Have had my Rodeo for almost 3 years and it has been pretty good to me. No major problems ever. Mostly put on highway miles. Great acceleration! Very quick car, even at highway speed. Though the steering doesn't feel that solid as I'd like at high speeds. Handles turns well. Have had my 6CD changer replaced twice!! The front seats are too short and become uncomfortable on long trips. Not enough leg room for me (6ft 2), the steering wheel is too far away. Interior is almost too simple and basic but I kinda liked that at first.

I have had my Rodeo for about a year an d a half. Has been fairly reliable. There has been a few things that have came up that frustrates me. 1) The ABS light stays on - sensor 2) Now my gas gauge stays on E most of the time. 3) I have had 2 situations where it did not start but after trying 5 - 7 times it started right up. Had battery checked and it is fine. Can not be the alternator due to it doing this at the initial start up. Has only happened 3 times within the past 6 months???

My engine blew out before the warranty expired. The company would not stand behind its warranty. The "customer service" people are belligerent and confrontational.

This vehicle is great fun to drive, peppy and looks great. The front seats are too short (not adequate lower thigh support)for comfortable long distance driving. But most of our day-to-day driving is local so this is not an issue. Would recommend this vehicle to anyone looking for reliable, fun, good- looking transportation. We camp and it hauls a ton (not literally) of stuff and drives well on desert and mountain roads.

I have had no problems other than a bad ABS sensor that was replaced under warranty.

I can't wait to buy my next Rodeo

I drive all over the midwest, putting about 33k miles per year. I love my Rodeo. It gets fair gas mileage, actually great for and SUV. I can hall all the gear that I need. I love the split rear fold-down seats. The seats are comfortable onlong trips, really fits my heighth and long legs. I think the look is more masculine that other "yuppie station wagons" on the market. I have had no mechanical problems of any kind.

My Rodeo performs well but seems to have a lot of minor little problems. The interior fell apart rather fast. Air vents broke, the console latch broke and doors in the cargo area warped rather fast. I have also had trouble keeping the front end aligned and as a result I have gone through three sets of tires in three years. When really pushing the engine up hill the engine "pings" even with premium gas. Which brings me to the biggest problem, the gas milage is really bad! But even with all of the little stuff that bugs me, I have enjoyed the car. It has been very reliable, goes great in the snow, and the ride is good too.

This truck is fun to drive. Off road it handles well. However, I've lost 2 sets of front bumpers with minor taps. The seats are very unconforibel for long drives.
