Additional pictures are posted on I-95 Muscle's direct website. Check out this 1999 SVT Cobra with a cammed up 32 valve 4.6L V8, 5 Speed Manual, and positraction unit with big meaty rear tires. The modification list on this car is long considering an odometer with less than 43k miles. Aside from the black wheels that you see, it has a line lock system installed, battery relocation, as well as an electric power steering conversion. The full exhaust is all new behind the headers with high flow cats, an X-pipe, and Flowmaster super 10's that shoot the perfect sound out of Flowmaster dual slash tips. These cars rewrote the script for high horsepower performance cars in the late 90's and without their success we wouldn't have the 750 horsepower GT500s roaming around today. The exterior seems to be in great shape with no clear coat failure. The front leather seats show minimal wear and the rear seat has been replaced with cloth seats from a different car. It's built to perform and is ready for a new driver that can put it to work. Financing is available and trades are welcome. Call, click, or come by today!

My 60 year old mother bought this Mustang from a colleague of mine who had it since new. She bought it in 2006 with 30000 miles as her condo car (Florida). During her ten years of owning this Mustang, she has driven it about 30000 miles. Since taking ownership she has done regular maintenance (oil, oil filter, air filter). In ten years, it has never skipped a beat. It has been as reliable as a car half its years. In ten years, it has only needed two batteries, tires and an alternator. The Mustang never let her stranded and had no problems whatsoever. Everything still works; A/C, power windows, power mirrors, cruise control, power seat and the 460 stereo is awesome! My mother has graciously given her Mustang to my step-daughter. My mother has bought a new Nissan Altima that has been plagued by minor problems. After owning the Mustang for ten years, trouble free, she appreciates that Mustang. It's amazing that a 17 year old car, that she drove for ten years, has been more reliable than her new Nissan. That little black stallion continues to be very reliable, even if it is 17 years old. Ford did it right. That V6 is no V8, but that Mustang handles so nice that it's still a thrill to drive!

Amazing!

This car is awesome! It has power and feels sturdy. I recently gave up my 01 impala and I don't regret it one bit. Mustangs are the best. It gets great gas mileage as well.

Bought 99 in 2001 new with 5000 miles. Owned it for 10 1/2 years and put about 100k miles on it. Never had one single problem with it ever. Good on gas and fun to drive. The only maintenance I ever did were oil changes.

I'm going to miss my Penny :(

I bought this car in August of 2013. I loved the car. I moved from STL to Seattle and drove her all the way without a single hiccup. The car itself remained probably free I kept it maintained and she proved to be a really awesome first car. Sadly I was t-boned a few weeks ago and shes gone :( but i will definitely be looking for a new mustang!

Bought my 1999 Mustang GT Coupe brand new in June 1999. It's still going strong at 148,000 miles. Other than normal maintenance I've only had to replace the alternator, battery once, and yesterday the intake manifold due a crack. I was told this is common and Ford did extended the warranty for it to 75,000 mi. My car is red and the color and shine is still great. My mechanic just offered to buy it, but it's hard to part with it. Peak performance is on the open highway. A little confining for me as an older guy, but for younger guys, highly recommended. Want it? Go for it and buy it. Good deal all around.

This is my 3rd Stang, having previously owned an 86GT Hatch and an 86LX Cnvt. Bought the 99 with 11,000 miles in 2001. Currently has 145,000. This is a great car. Have had almost no mechanical problems. Great style and performance. Great exhaust sounds. Mach 460 radio/CD is great too. Convertible top works well. Tends to eat brakes. Headlight covers do fog over. Don't hit a bump in the middle of a turn or you'll find yourself in the next lane.

I purchased my 1999 Mustang GT in August 2009 from a private seller. It has 72,400 miles on it. The beautiful red with gray leather interior gets a lot of compliments and the car has always been garaged and looks new!It has a manual 5 speed transmission. I love the exhaust sound but do wish that it had more power in the low/mid range power band. I have owned a Mustang SVO and a 1967 Mustang Fastback over the years. The cup holder location in the 1999 GT is a disaster but the stereo sounds very good and the car handles ok even though the tie rods wear pre-maturely and begin to squeak when turning. Ford should have went to a adjustable clutch cable instead of the automatic adjustment system.

I bought this used in 2000 with 18,000 miles on it and it now has 112,000 miles. Just a few minor problems. At random times, it didn't want to start and after several attempts at trying to figure out what the problem was, it turns out it was in the security system. About a $300.00 fix..The only other issue is the headlights which develop a white film..I am a multi mustang owner and love this '99. My daughter now drives it and also loves it. Very fun car and comfortable for smaller individuals. All cars should be this dependable.

I love the car's style and performance. However my driver side exhaust manifold had litteraly broken twice now. That is quite enoying at a cost of around $450 each time. It only has 85000 miles and the clearcoat is falling off of the car. I washed and waxed the car religiously. The interior is still like brand new.

I bought my Mustang GT back in May of 01 and had the car till Feb of 08. This car was very well taken care of and I drove the car pretty crazy. The only reason I kept it running so well is because my uncle is a mechanic so most of the problem were fixed by him. I pumped regular gas in it but always used 10-30 oil. When it got to 75,000 miles I started using 10-30 high mileage mobil oil fully synthetic. That was the best oil I used. My car never leaked any oil because I always replaced any gaskets or seals that needed replacing. Changed all the normal wear & tear stuff. Always kept the car original except for the flowmasters. When I ran a smog check it had better results than a brand new Mustang

Yep. And it's the truth. I have had nothing but a great experience owning this little pony for the past 9 years running strong. It still shines up nice, gets looks from everybody- and their mom. It sounds cool even with a stock v6. Nice little rumble. Power? Very sufficient. Handling? Does fine, takes corners, stops on a dime. Interior? I have driven the new (05+ models) and I honsetly didn't feel as snug in them. I like the hugging quality of this model over the newer, more sedan-like interiors. Feels sportier. I put GT rims and tires on mine for a little more handling. Never had a breakdown. I have driven this thing across the country, pure joy. What a great car. For the price, a great deal. Great stereo, great motor, looks awesome. A value and a joy.

I got this car as a junior in college. I'd always wanted a Mustang since I was a child. The roar of the pipes and the overall sexiness of the car was totally appealing to me. I've put a lot of highway miles on it due to college and traveling home over the years. As a young woman driver on the road alone a lot it's been very reassuring to know that my Stang is realiable. Only work I've had done is a new alternator and now I need a started. That's it.

I bought this car for 17000 from a blonde girl who owned for only 9 months, and only 11000 miles. The reason im saying this is because she bought a MB CLK coupe with 45000 miles for 30000! Go figure! I love this silver convertible mustang since the very first day. The car looks great. I added 20" black wheels and lowered 2". People on the street always stare. I have owned this car since Dec 2000. The only thing that I have change on this car is the oil and brakes once. Oh I also upgraded the headlights to all clear, and smoke the tailights. The car has 105k miles, and I will keep it for many more years. The car has been super reliable.

Purchased new, passed 100,000 earlier this year. Cars these days have become more powerful, but in 1999, this car was the best bang for the buck other than the high-school-kid-styling Camaro/Firebird twins. Works well as a daily driver, but fun to drive and can burn some rubber when you feel like it. Aside from a few initial fit/finish issues, car has been very reliable with no major fixes. I did recently have to have the rear differential rebuilt with new parts for >$2k due to the oil leaking out after poorly designed speed bumps dented the diff. case. However, I believe this was a freak incident and should be even less likely to happen to a stock car. (Mine is lowered around 1.5".)

I bought this Mustang in Feb. of 2004 with only 52,000 miles on it. It already had the 60,000 miles work done on it. Since then I've driven it to about 88,000 miles. It performs great - good acceleration and decent cornering (though I rarely push either). The top very rarely leaks, only when I've driven in BIG storms. It's only happened twice. This is a big improvement over my last convertible, a 92 Mustang. The only problems I've had are that the cruise control button fell off one day last year (it's still usable) and the front brakes have needed A LOT of work ($1300). They always cover the front rims with brake dust as well. Overall I'm very happy with the car.

I'm a college student and 18 years old. I just recently bought a 1999 Mustang GT anniversary edition. I bought it for $10,500 w/ 51,000 miles. To tell you the truth it was a heck of a deal. But for all the people who are reading these to get an idea about what people think about Mustangs, I will give you my honest opinion. The Mustang GT is fast. 0-60 is around 5.5 secs. And the roar of the engine is to die for. And it handles really well. I mean really well. The car is built to last a while, I can tell you that. The disadvantage is the gas mileage, seating space, and the winter. I average around 18 city and 22 highway. The backseats are a little too small. Overall it's a great muscle car!

I have owned this car for a little over 4 years, and have not had any major problems with it. Of course, the oxygen sensors have needed to be replaced, but doesn't every car have that problem? Periodically, my odometer displays turns off, but this is just a minor problem...if even a problem at all. Yesterday, it wouldn't start, so I will need to replace either the battery or the starter. Now this is no big deal, considering the car is paid for, and this is the only problem that I have ever had. Over all, excellent car and I would buy another.

Quality, durability, and it's fun! Total in almost 6 years of owning for all/any repairs: $350.00. Minor work done. Just now had to change brakes. Other than oil changes no up keep!

This car was my party vehicle throughout my college years. I have 145,000 miles on it and all I had to do was change the oil. My convertible top hydraulics began to leak at 100,000 and that is all I had to fix. Of course since I take the top down and put it back up a million times when I went out it had to break eventually! :) I plan on driving this bad boy until 200,000 miles and keeping it as my fun vehicle.

I had a 1987 Mustang GT that I swore I would never trade. Well that fell through when I set my sights on a 1999 official 35th Anniversary Stang. This car is absolutely amazing. Its muscular yet sexy at the same time. This is my third Mustang and by far my favorite. We're keeping this one and already saving up to buy a '05 as a daily driver. I tell you what that 4.6 V8 has so much power its amazing.

I've owned my 1999 convertible Mustang for 5 years with only 1 problem. I had a problem shortly after I bought it with one of the convertible top hydraulics going out. The car was used, with 17,000 miles on it, before I got it and apparently someone tried taking the top down with it still latched into the windshield and this caused the failure. Other than that I have had no mechanical problems with this car and it is used as a daily driver. The Mustang is a little bumpy because of the sports suspension and height from the ground but that's what you come to expect in a performance RWD car. Don't expect to be riding like a Caddy in this bad boy, but you'll ride in style!

Poor traction with this tire package when streets are wet however.

The Mustang is a great deal, reliable, full of character, fun to drive, and even sensible. Civic, Celica and so on don't compare as a whole package. The 99+ V6 is a bargain in every respect. Trunk space is good compared to most small cars, and fold through rear seats are really convenient. Kids enjoy the rear seat. They don't need an SUV! Adults can fit uncomfortably in the back, but who cares about them? This car is about you, the driver. The manual makes the car alive and gears are flexible through hills. Highway mileage is great for a car like this (27 or so) but city drops pretty quickly to around 20. For what this car costs, buy one and some snow tires!

Great ride!! Gotta love to punch it, so you can make it out in front of any traffic. Sure it handles poor in the rain and snow but it also depends on the driver, I passed many a SUV's on the way to work in the snow (I've never been stuck). Damn those cup holders, my interior would be in excellent shape if it wasn't for the hundreds of soda the gear shift helped spill. Also the standard is a must, the automatic just didn't have the power behind it.

I bought this car in January 2001 and for the most part its been a great car. Been through several accidents, and still in one piece, never an injury! ;) Had to have the brakes replaced and the engine serviced once, but that's really it. Runs well, accelerates really nicely, a fun car to drive (especially in electric green!) I just wanted to reply to someone saying that it ran well in rain and snow- it DOESN'T run in rain or snow! very very touchy. spins out a LOT. I'm trading it in this year for something with AWD. For what I used it for though, it was a great car.

With all this talk of American cars not delivering quality, I have to disagree. I hammer on this car every time I drive it, and haven't had a single problem and it has over 80K miles. Then to top it off the Mustang delivers the best power for your money too. I love getting into this car everyday, even after four years of ownership. My next car will be another Mustang. Thank you Ford.

I bought my 1999 Mustang brand new in 1999. It was one of the first 13 sold in my city that year. From the moment I first sat in the car for test drive I was in love with the car. In a little over 4 years, I have not had any trouble - mechanical or otherwise - with this car. It is a blast to drive and still gets looks everywhere I go!

I have had this car for over 4 years now. I am going to sell it to get the 2003 Cobra. I would say that this is the best car I have ever owned. I only had one problem with it. The ignition switch went out, but the dealer took care of that. No charge, it was still under warranty. The gas milage is not great, but if that is what you want buy a 4 banger.

Overall this is a great car, but I would recomend having another car for the winter. The car has an extremely responsive throttle, making the car very quick. There are many affordable aftermarket upgrades for this car. My catalytic converters became stopped up. And I've heard other other mustangs having the same problem. Othe than that I havent had anyproblems with the car. If you buy a sports car that has a v8 engine you shouldnt expect to get great gas mileage. I got about 14 miles in the city and 18 on the highway(220), but I was accelerating a lot so if you dry the car easier you could probally get about 250 miles on a full tank.

Excellent value for the money. Great straight-line performance but handling is fairly poor. Car sits too high and handling suffers from lack of independent suspension during hard driving. Surprisingly good reliability; owned one for over 3.5- years and hexperienced only one problem (convertible top motor died, but replaced under warranty).

I recently bought my 99 Mustang GT Convertible&have yet to be dissappointed. It's beautiful,&the interior is roomy enough for 2 up front, however,I quickly abandoned the possibility of fitting 2 comfortably in the back.It can be done, but only by scooting the front seats up considerably, which could be bearable for short trips, but not on long ones.Trunk space also leaves a bit to be desired. The stereo system's great for factory, the exterior's hot,&outside noise is pretty minimal considering it is a convertible.I'm impressed! My beauty is definitly a head-turner,&I look forward to thousands more miles with him!

I like the way the car looks-inside and out. I like the way feels inside, and the way that it handles. The power driver's seat has so many adjustments that if my wife drives the car, it takes quite a while to get the seat readjusted properly. It has a nice suspension, where you don't feel every seam in the pavement-on local roads, or on the highway.PlentyOfPower. I bought the car with 39,000 miles on it. The power top works great. It would be nice if the cover for the top fit better. If you snap it in place, it pops back out. I scrapped the cheap material seat covers for new leather ones. Big improvement.

My mustang has good power (if you want more get a GT) and it handles well in dry conditions. In wet weather starting on a hill the wheels may slip a little. In the snow, I don't know. The exterior and interior have awesome looks. I don't have the Mach stereo, but the stock one sounds great anyways (some people thought I had a system). For a sports car it is very comfortable and there is plenty of room in the front. I am 6’2” and 290 lbs. and there is plenty of room. The only complaint is no key lock on the passenger door and when you put a drink in the cup holder it gets in the way of shifting into 2nd. I also get about 24mpg.

A splenid combination of historical Mustang styling and modern technology, this automobile is truly a delight to own and drive. Additionally, dealer service and warranty work is absolutely flawless. Everyone should own one of these.

A 97 Z28 and I had to painstakingly part. A few years later I ran into this used Mustang for a good price and bought it since I was dying to get back into a sports car. The Z had a little more power and cornered a little tighter, but rode a LOT rougher and was a LOT noisier. The Mustang is fun to drive, I prefer it over the Z. It even has true dual exhausts! (The Z has duals coming out of the muffler).

When buying a used car, or any car, some people get good ones some get bad. I know several people who are happy with their mustang (v6) and don't have any problems. I however had problems. The exhaust manifolds went bad twice, but were covered under warranty. After the warranty expired, at about 45,000 miles the transmission started slipping when you tried to accelerate hard, and the valves started to make noise. The dealership told me that the valve problem is common with the V6. It cost around $500 to fix. The top did make some noise around 48,000 miles but it was an easy fix.

This is not a vehicle to buy if you have no other mode of transportation. It handles beautifully in ideal conditions (i.e. dry roads) but is truly awful in all others. If you tend to punch the gas on take off, as I do, the tires will just spin if the road is anything but perfectly dry. Even with an extra 280lbs. in the trunk, it handled like a bobsled in the rain or snow.

I bought my car used with only 400 miles on it. The only major problem I had with it was that a spark plug connection got loose and my car went dead while going 80 on IH-10. Good thing I was in the right lane and next to the sholder. Got it towed and fixed. Other maintenance has been oil changes and tire rotation. All-in-all, a great car. I have been rear-ended and have rear-ended someone else and the only damage has been bumper. The body held up nicely. Wish it was a little more roomy. My husband who is 6'4" has problems driving comfortably.

Great overall car. You get a great looking car, tire smoking power, all the options plus more, and a convertible for a great price. Wish they changed the interior a bit more (from the previous 94-98 Stangs) to give it that "new" feeling but all the controls are easy to use and access so it's not too big of a deal. The new exterior took a bit of getting used to when they first came out but I love it now. You definetly get a lot of looks and nice comments. Also handles good and fuel economy is what you would expect from a V8 sports car.

V6 performance is certainly acceptible and even as a 6 footer I find it very comfortable and pleasant inside. This car is nicely priced with its large amount of standard features(My aunt owns a 24000 accord with no CD player!) The V6 also offers cheaper insurance rates and the aftermarket parts are really opening up if you want your stang to look better and perform better. I've had no maitnance problems and the car is running great with 18550 on it.

I've had an excellent experience with my Mustang. It's been exceedingly reliable and has required very little maintenance. In 49,000 miles and "check-ups" every 3 months, I've only needed oil changes, tire rotations and air filters. On the down-side, it's obviously terrible in snow and ice. However, the traction control makes a huge difference. I've never been stuck and I've driven in a lot of snow living in Northern Ohio and Michigan.

When looking for my own first car, I was lucky enough to have my Dad pay for whatever I wanted. I got to test drive an older Eclipse, and a Z28. Even though i was pretty torn between the Z28 and Mustang, it was really no comparision once i really thought about it. Sure the Z28 is so much faster, but the inside is pathetic and so out-dated. Mean while inside the Mustang is completely different which included a Mach 1000 Sound System. Stick is more than worth it.

The GT, while looking over blown certainly delivers FUN. The fake vents are a little embarrassing but the respectable interior and traction control makes up for it. The TC allows for rapid progress without the need for anxiety attacks, even in the wet. Overall I like the car, it's easy to reach the cornering limits but safe enough to stay there and play a while with the option of a leaving the TC on to calm you down. I get between 15 and 22mpg and for the money what would be more fun?

I'm baffled as to how this car got a 2 for a ranking. I love this car. I bought mine as soon as they introduced the new design and have loved it ever since. Not one mechanical problem yet with almost 50,000 miles.

still loving my stang!

In September of 1999 my husband and I were looking for another car. We test drove the mustang, and loved it. 2 1/2 years later we are still enjoying it, and have only had to do routine maintenance on it. No trips back to the dealer...not once, not yet! It has about 48,000 miles on it now, is a V6, manual transmission, with a rear spoiler. Great car, fun, fast, and easy to drive!

Great car

The only thing I really hate about this car is the cup holder next to the stick shift is all but useless. You can't even put a soda can there as the gear shift hits it in 2nd gear.
