I helped my friend buy her car from Fuza. There was no hassle, no presure, and no worry. Everyone was very helpful and had our best interests in mind. I was impressed at how laid back they were about test drives on all of their vehicles. Everything was in good shape and working the way it should. If you are reading this, definitely give Fuza motors a try

Wife has this car for past 7 years. We ran it till 220,000 miles and sold it for $1000. What a great car. 28 mpg, very reliable. The car held together very well. Almost everything worked perfectly when we sold it. It was her car through medical school, residency, fellowship and finally her first year as an MD. Just based on this car, I would certainly buy another dodge car. Can't say enough about the engine and transmission. I've owned nissan's for years, but this dodge really proved that the domestics are doing some things right in the sedan category.

I bought this car used maybe two years ago with 73K and 93K the engine blew. I felt something coming for awhile, and continued to get it check, but nothing was found. Car would feel as though it wanted to shut down so many times, and even sometimes it would as though I were missing a sensor. Got a sensor replaced and it drove better until it finally shut down for good. I also do not like the brake system on this car, very hard.

I am a 21 year old. This is by far the worst car I have ever owned. The first year was okay, Purchase car 4/11/08 from 2 owner WITH 94K. Motor start go BAD 104K AND TRANS TOO ON 5\23\11. Also the power window motor went out 3 time. Water pump went bad too. service and change oil and fluids every 1500 miles. First, the car started burning oil too fast. I was putting about 3 quarts of oil in it every weeks. Daimler-Chrysler should be ashamed of this 2.7L engine. i will never buy dodge again

This car was bought new in '99 by my mother. The car was passed to me in 2006. Since then, every little thing went wrong. First, the car started burning oil too fast. I was putting about 3 quarts of oil in it every 2 weeks. Then the cam sensor and starter went bad, causing the car to stall. They were replaced but 5 months later the same problem arose. Soon after I was putting 3 quarts of oil every 3 days. It could not survive trips longer than 2 hrs. Tire rod problems caused tires to wear down quickly. Finally the cover to the part you put oil exploded while driving. It died at 160k miles, I will admit it was poorly maintained but still lasted 12 years.

The 1999 Dodge Intrepid is a piece of junk.

The intrepid was o k at first but after it got a few thousand miles it started having a lot of trouble. The 2.7 motor is too weak for this car and gives a lot of problems. We had to replace the motor at about 80,000 miles.I am just glad we had a warranty. After that the computer was going out.Sometimes the intrepid would die going down the road and not start for about 10 minutes. One trip it died on me 10 times within a 70 mile trip.A mechanic said a computer for it would be around $1000.00.To me the intrepid was not worth that. The heater fan only worked on high. Some of the windows would not go down. All I can say is the Intrepid was my firdt and last Dodge.

I bought my '99 Intrepid used, after riding in a co-workers older model and finding a back seat that actually accommodated an overweight adult male. I rented a Chrysler Concorde on a trip east for a family funeral, and spent 3 days driving around my parents plus my sister and the widow. They had no trouble getting into and out of the back seat repeatedly. My middle daughter is 5'9" and not thin, and she preferred the back seat to the front because she could actually cross her legs without a problem. I always felt virtuous flying down the interstate with the low front end and raked windshield, as the SUV air plows spent $$$ pushing air out of the way. No other "family" car has that back seat

I've driven this car daily for 4 1/2 years, I have 160,000 on it currently, and the only things I've had to fix are the electric cooling fans, starter, alternator, battery, and a couple of trans sensors. I've studied this engine, and to take care of the sludge problem you need to run pure synthetic oil of the best variety you can find, it will pay for itself by giving you more performance, better gas mileage, and of course not blowing up. Most people treat their cars like crap and expect them to do everything cheaply, these folks will be the ones with the blown engines at 60,000. Also, run premium gas, that will also pay for itself with better mileage. Good car, I'll get 350,000 out of it

I was pretty happy with my Intrepid - only minor issues for 10 years. Biggest item: Starter needed replacement after 7 years and AC gave in. After 10 years, crank sensors gave in (2 different ones), resulting in stalling engine (not funny!) and Starter had to be replaced, again. Engine started to burn oil rapidly, Fan only worked on MAX or not at all. Brake lines had to be replaced - lucky I wasn't in an accident. In the 11th year - BUMM - Power Control Module is giving up! Cost: 50% of what the car's worth. The Mechanic said, the location of the module is bad: too hot and too exposed = design issue. Next issue on the horizon: Oxygen Sensor for the Cat. Convrt. No sludge - not enough miles.

I have owned my 99 intrepid for about 6 months put it through hell and back. a week after i got it i smeared a deer. sat in the garage till Jan. got the new door and fender that was messed up from hitting the deer. yesterday i rear ended someone and totaled his car. only scratched my car. I hit him doing 40. and I'm still driving it. no problems besides deployed airbags now. Love this car! I'm getting another one!

this is a fun car to drive. 1st time owning a dodge. as long as maintained is a good car / risky if buying pre-owned. Common issue is head gasket, pistons & value guides causes car to smoke. After having these issues fixed I haven't been able to go to beach (anything to do with driving over mountains, huge inclines as such) but in city has been good car. Had car accident totaled vehicle I will not purchase another 1 but if had not been totaled I would still enjoy this car. Maintenance has not been to bad, really suggest just keep it up and should be an ok car.

i own the 2.7 model of the intrepid and now i am having to get a new car because the engine is failing me. i really am trying to save you by telling you to not to buy the intrepid with the 2.7 engine, if it has the other engines you should be just fine. i absolutly loves my car until things started going wrong. the biggest thing right now is the oil consumption, i go through a quart of oil about every 200 miles and there is no leak it is all burnt, there is so much burnt oil coming out of the exhaust that it bothers people behind me. the blower motor also just had to be replaced and there are other things that need fixed but since i am getting a new vehicle im not going to waste my money.

i started reading the bad reviews about 4 years ago and was nervous until i realized I had the 3.5 engine. Bought it new and have had it now 10 years with 145,000 miles. It is the most comfortable riding car i have ever had. Transmission problems in 2003, but other than that, nothing major. there have been a lot of little annoying things that have gone wrong: power windows, heater fan, power locks etc. Right now it seems to be running like a clock!

Purchase car August 28 2008. Motor went out December 24, 2008. Also the power window motor went out 3 days buying the car. After going to about 3 auto repairs shops trying to get a rebuilt motor or use motor I was told not to waste any more money on this car because it is no worth it. After talking to previous and past owner of this car mostly the same review, that it is a worthless piece that Dodge could have put out on the market

I bought this vehicle used with 36,000 miles. I've put over 27,000 miles a year on this baby and have had little or no trouble. She now has 230,000 miles and just needs a speed sensor. As long as you service and change your oil and fluids, your intrepid will run forever. She has the 2.7 and I'm very impressed. Too bad they have taken them off the market. I would not hesitate to buy another as long as I have the maintenance schedule. In all I've only put about $1000.00 into her, other than oil and fluid changes/tires and brakes.

I bought my Intrepid in '99. It was a demo with only 3000 miles on it. I loved the car until about 65,000 miles when the engine seized up and had to be rebuilt. I later found out that this is common with the Intrepid. Very costly repair. I gave it to my son to drive about a year ago and he recently totaled it in a crash. At this time it had 140,000 miles on it. Worked out pretty good for me though because trade in value was only about $1000.00 but the insurance company gave me $3000.00!

This was my very first car and I was so in love with it, that I now own another one... Before my first one died though, I purchased it in 2004 with already over 120K on it. This car reliably and safely got me all the way from FL to WA state, while towing a U-haul trailer, and also on one blown cylinder... only one glitch to the trip was it wouldn't go over 40 over the Rockies, but hey, it was missing a cylinder and towing a u-haul. It had its share of minor problems, but the engine never failed to fire up. I got a good solid 3-4 years and about 60K out of mine before it finally died. Loved it so much I bought another 99 just yesterday! Looking forward to life with this one now too!

I got my Intrepid about 3 years ago. It was my very first car so, I took extra good care of it. My dad replaced the engine when we bought it because the previous owners did not take care of it. It runs smooth for me(and I do a lot of highway driving). Plus, the car is very roomy and it has a lot of leg room for tall people, I have a tall family and I am tall myself (i'm about 6'2) and I do not like trucks so I fit very comfortable in it. I recommed this car to any one who knows how to take care of a car, cause lets face it you treat the motor wrong it's going to blow!!

A car that will be missed.

I have owned the Intrepid with the 3.2 V6. It was an excellent car, never any problems, always ran like a champ. I know people say this car has a bad engine. That's only if you get the 2.7, so if you go with the 3.2 or 3.5 you'll be fine. My Intrepid was a great car up until a couple of days ago. I had gotten into a small car accident where the front end went up the SUV in front of me. My passenger and I and the other cars were all fine. However the Intrepid is toast. It still runs and all but needs a new front end and radiator. I plan on buying an Intrepid that has a 2.7 engine that has failed and swapping it with mine.

I am very happy with my Intrepid ES. I bought it with 65,000 miles on it. {100,000 mile warranty} It was a program car that was well taken care of. Leather interior and the works. Beautiful riding highway cruiser. I have 140,000 and it's ready for lots more. So far I have only had to put in a new starter & flywheel. I replaced the front struts and it's back to the ride it was when I got it. The only problem I have with it is the weatherstripping around all four doors has shrunk about 1 inch from time and weather. Dodge wouldn't do anything about covering it under the warranty for replacement. The mileage could be better, but I am really happy with it

i purchased this car used with 16000 miles. It was for taking the kids to school, a 10 mile trip daily .I did go from TN to FL once and the fuel mileage was not as expected. I added Chrysler alloy wheels and the nose and deck spoiler like comes on the later RT models. I only have 43,000 miles on it now. I went to trade it for a new Caliber dodge and the dealer offered only $1600.00 trade-in! The Dodge dealer stated that the motors in these cars are bad. My car runs and looks new. We kept the Dodge for a back-up vehicle for my soon to be a driver teen son. No major defects. 2 recalls. One speed sensor and oil change. Brakes, rotor

This is by far the worst car I have ever owned. The first year was okay, but it went "downhill" after that. The a/c and heating is far from adequate and very loud especially on high. It took the dealership three years to figure out what was wrong.(it was the condenser) The power locks and windows have worked much less than perfect for the last four years. Now 62,500 miles and 7 years later the motor has thrown a rod and I am receiving information that I am not the only one that has had the motor go "kaboom" at 60,000 miles. So, beware if you buy a 1999 Dodge Intrepid.

Good car, no major problems. I'm about 6'3" so the size is a plus. I can strech out and drive comfortably. Decent power. I like the stock rims. In town gas mileage is low, but I have a heavy foot. Good highway mileage for its size. It does unbelivably amazing in snow and ice so long as you dont go too fast. It will go anywhere on slick roads without sliding! But if you try to take off fast on snow, wet, or even slightly wet roads, you will not move, just spin tires like crazy. My A/C went out so it is hot in the summer. I had some problems with the power windows but they all work now and I havent had problems with them for a long time. It has never left me stranded

I am a 18 year old college student. After hitting a deer going 60mph in my 1997 Intrepid I knew I wanted another intrepid. I found my 99 with 88k on it. That was 6 months ago, i know have 96k on it..it has power (mainly from 2500-4500rpm) My biggest complaint is gas mileage. I get about 19mph..but then again I do have a heavy foot and pick up speed fast. My other problem is it has a hard time starting (turns over but won't fire) but if you hold the key for like 4 seconds, it starts and runs fine.. So I'm not to worried about it right now.

The car started off great and roomy enough for two kids, great trunk space. I sit here today car-less because the engine is gone. For the past six years we have dealt with sensors going out, airconditioning, and oil pan problems. The rear passenger window rolls up when it wants to. Steer away from this car.

I bought my 99 Intrepid new expecting to have it for a long time. The engine siezed due to oil sludge before I hit 60,000 miles. The repair was very expensive and time consuming. Since replacing the engine I have had to replace numerous other components and I still haven't gotten to 80,000 miles. I can't afford to sell it because of it's reputation and depleted savings.

I had it worked on at the Dodge dealership here in town. On top of this I have also replaced the computer. The car is well maintained and has less than 80,000 miles on it.

Sorry to see it go

I bought the Intrepid off lease at 17,000 miles. Yes I went through the warranty window motors, big deal. The 2.7 engine NEVER gave me any trouble. The car handled well, I loved driving it. I finally had to trade it off after 115,000 miles. It's TERRIBLE driving on gravel roads. If you live in the country don't buy it, the fan fills up with mud and it takes hours to clean up. It's too close to the ground and it leaks dust in the car.

Awesome, reliable car!

I bought my ES 3.2L new in May '99. We've had it for a little over 6 years now and just recently had to replace a transmission speed sensor. That is the only non-scheduled maintenance in 6 years! Guess I got a good one. We had it in Europe for 4 years and this thing will cruise the autobahn all day at 100 MPH with no problem. It really has been an exceptional family car for us.

I bought my Dodge Intrepid used a few years ago. I loved it despite the window problems I had initially. It was very comfortable to drive and a fun car in general. But then one thing broke down after another and they were all major concerns. My transmission has died costing $2,000 plus the speed sensors and other problems you can find online very easily. The oil system is also a major concern in most models because it was designed very poorly. Although this car seems great at first - try asking repair people their opinions on this car. You'll get a good laugh. Although my family members are employed by Chrysler, after this experience, I will never ever buy a Chrysler/Dodge product again!

I always enjoyed the car. It was comfortable, roomy, and the 2.7L is economical. It was reliable in Chicago winters, and only had minor repairs. At 70,000 miles it threw a rod. Dodge wants $6300 for a new engine. Turns out small oil ports sludge up and kill the engine. Dodge says the problem is poor maintenance, but dealer changed the oil every 4-5,000 miles without warning me that 4-5,000 mile changes are only good on the Hondas, Toyotas, Volvos & Pontiacs on which we've put 125-150,000 miles each in the last 20 years. Who knew? Oh - wait - Chrysler did. If you've got one, find out what you can do to de-sludge it, or trade it in by 50,000 miles.

I have ownd my '99 ES since '00. I LOVE IT. I have had no major issues (with the exception of the brake rotors-- warping--COMMON PROBLEM!!) & a brake sensor -- I have only had to replace my cup holder (broken by my own fault); and my passenger front window motor is slow to roll up/down (due to someone hitting me as I was parked in a lot). I have added several 300 M parts (chrome shifter for autostick), chrome window switches, and 17" chrome wheels. If the gas mileage was better (or had a bigger engine --say 4.5L I would be EXTREMELY happy --I can carry all I ever need with 18.4 CU FT of trunk space!

We've had the car now for 5 years, we bought it 1 year used. We currently have 166,000 miles on the 2.7 V6 and its doing fine. We've had Honda Accords in the past. Compared to the Hondas it rides smoother (except over sharp bumps), similar seat comfort, and is much larger inside and in the trunk. It is not as tight or refined as the Honda. Problems we've had include: Window motors, wiper motors, front ball joints (lower control arm), input and output speed sensors. Overall we're talking maybe $1000 repairs over 5 years and 166000 miles. Though we had fewer repairs on the Honda, I would still consider the car to have been very reliable. It's still running strong and we love driving it.

I bought an Intrepid ES with all options new in 1999 and have taken the car about 65,000 miles. While granted my annual mileage is low, I have kept a detailed log of repair expenses and have found the Intrepid to be very reliable to date. My transmission control module went at 35000 miles (warranty). Other repairs have been Keyless remote motor went ($200), Sway Link (warranty),passenger rear window motor ($150). So overall a very high quality level. The car is fun to drive, especially on long road trips. Handles well and has excellent acceleration for highway. I have found the performance in snow to be disappointing. Overall, when I see these cars listed for around $6K, it's a value

I bought my Intrepid brand new and have been plagued by repair after repair since the warranty ran out. One highlight was when the power brake booster went out and had no brakes! There have been plenty of repairs in between, but now at 60,000 miles the air conditioner went out and the 3rd cylinder has only 60% compression with an idle of a tank. Also, like many others, the motor on one of my windows is also out.

The engine went on my well maintained 3.6L engine at 59,000 miles- no warning- no (reliable) explanation. After LOTS of headaches Chrysler paid half the repair bill directly to the dealer- refusing to speak directly to me at all- and I had to pay the remaining $4000 bill for a car that was not even 5 years old! I have been told that this is COMMON in this car but no one (Chrysler, BBB, Attny General, etc.) will do anything about it.

I was driving to Lake Tahoe on a Saturday and the engine just started spazzing out for no reason. It felt like the timing belt jumped or I lost fuel but I let it sit for 10 minutes and it ran fine. 20 minutes down the road the same thing. 10 minutes later it ran fine. I drove another 100 miles to Tahoe and parked it. I started it up 2 days later and the wipers were spazzing out now. I drove it 120 miles and half way home it Spazzed out again. Idiot light was on and I brought it to the shop. Code was misfire. Light promptly went off and I drive it daily now. These cars are so heavily computerized that I think there is a hot wire somewhere to the trans that's causing this.Disappointe

My good friend bought a used 1999 intrepid with about 109k miles on it. With in a couple months, the engine seized up. As I look at other reviews, I am surprised the car made it as long as it did. Other things he has had problems with catalytic converter went out, problems with the electrical - there is a loose wire somewhere, and now to start the car, one of the doors has to be open. The battery is a full day's job to replace, as is the alternator (you have to take off the radiator fans). After changing the battery and fixing a flat tire, we had 3 of the lug nuts come right off with the bolts. This car shouldn't have ever been put out for use by the public

I loved this car when I first got it. It's so comfortable and drives really nice. I had a couple of minor issues, which you can always expect when you own a car. The problem came when the oil light started coming on a few months ago. My oil didn't need changed so I didn't undertand the problem. The repair shop told me this is an issue w/ Dodge engines. The oil cannot circulate because of narrow passages and therefore cooks the oil, causing a sludge buildup. After researching I found that this really is a common problem among this car. Just do a search on "oil sludge Intrepid". Now my car has 51,000 miles and will die soon.

This car is drop dead gorgeous. It is easily the best looking car with four doors. The interior is huge and very comfortable and it dash and gauges look sporty. While the car is really big physically, it handles very well and is quite tossable on backroads. The base V6 could have been more powerful though, but it was adequate enough for most situations. Reliability is actually quite good with no serious problems to report, though with 75000 miles on it, the power windows are begining to short circuit sometimes. Overall, though, it is a very good car with good value, lots of style, and a high fun to drive quotient.

at 34,000 miles the Cruise control had a problem that caused the rpms to go above 3000mph when sitting Idol. The car would try to move forward with my foot on the break. The car dealership had to replace the cruise control. Also at about 35,000 miles the air compressor stopped working and caused the fan belt to break while I was driving. I lost Air conditioning and to fix the belt and compressor it cost $1200.00 at the Dodge dealership. The car is big and comfortable but I would not buy another Intrepid.

I decided to buy a U.S. car because I thought that by now most cars are similar in reliability. This car was okay until the engine went out at 66,000 miles. My research on the internet has found that this is a common problem with this engine (V-6 2.6 litre). Dodge/Chrysler will not help out in any way (I tried). 3 other people where I work had similar problems with the engine going out (1999,2000 and 2001). Daimler-Chrysler has no idea how many people will never buy a Dodge again. Word of mouth is spreading on the Intrepid; all of the repair shops know about the problem with this engine.

List of Problems a.Driver seat bolt broke. (Thankfully, I was not driving.) b.All power windows have stopped working. (No more drive-thru meals.) c.Speed sensor has malfunctioned 3 times. (Once during rush hour in Atlanta) e.Power seat assembly is broken.(Costs $1K to replace... why throw good money after bad???) Learn from my mistake:If you buy an Intrepid (any model) get a very good price, with a dependable warranty.

Bought as a program car. Have 54K miles on it. Have had numerous mechanical problems. AC out @30K. Front right strut@40K. Left control arm bar@50K. AC and alternator belts@53K. Even the Dodge emblem fell off the front hood. Talk about junk. I tried to trade it in and the dealer would only offer me 2k for it. Talk about a joke. I'll never buy American again.

I was very happy with my car UNTIL I had to start replacing sensors and now my engine is gone. It seems that I've taken to this car to have something repaired way to often! I have 85,000 on the car and have been told by several mechanics that they have heard of many problems with this engine and was suprised that my engine hadn't gone before now.

I love this vehicle. It has plenty of space in the back seat and the trunk is huge! I like the sleek design and the way it drives is so smooth. It has plenty of power and will get up and go. I have had trouble with it not switching out of gear and it was some little wire that had to be replaced. I also had both fans to lock up and they had to be replaced $550). Other than those two things, I haven't had any trouble from my car. I have truly enjoyed the large trunk. We got the car so that we could fit my mother in law's wheelchair in it.

Like others, I have had a bad speed sensor and the driver side window motor has gone bad. Right now my car is in the shop with a bad evaporator. On the plus side, it is very roomy, great trunk space and fun to drive. . I have had no problems with paint as others seem to have had. Glove compartment is very small. Keyless entry is iffy - I recommend getting the battery replaced more often and go to Radio Shack - cost is 50% less than dealer. Concerned about the next big problem - can anyone say "Transmission?" As of today, my car is at 55k.

The Intrepid is a nice car, handles well, and is good on gas for the size, at the time it was the only car in the 20K price range that offered seating for six. unfortunately the bench seat was only available with the 2.7L engine.

I have owned 5 Intrepids (actually 4 + 1 Eagle Vision). The last one (1999 ES) went over 100,000 miles before the first repair ($600). Unlike previous experiences with [mainly] Toyota, where I have spent up to 1/2 the new car value in repairs over the first 130,000 miles, the Intrepids have served me well.

For the price this is a very reliable car. I have 40k on my '99 Intrepid ES. The only problems thus far is, 1) the paint job is chipping, the chrome on the dodge stickers are pealing a bit, I had a bit of a slip in the trany when I had the fluid replace but after about 2weeks that went away. So far its been a very reliable car for 3.5 years. Oh, I also had the headlight switch and one window motor replaced.

I have had this car for 4 years now and it has been very reliable. During that time, I have had three mechanical problems with various sensors during ownership. Other than that, the car handles great and is very comfortable and easy to drive. I now have over 90,000 miles on this car and the maintenance has consisted of two brake changes and one tire change. The trunk is spacious and comes in handy for hauling suitcases. My main pet peeve with the car is the lack of cup holders in the back seat for passengers. I track my gas mileage and the car continues to get 29 - 30 MPG on the highway. I would purchase another one.

The vehicle has a pronounced pull to the left, which despite endless efforts to eliminate, cannot be corrected. Getting into and exiting the car is very difficult for a six footer due to the low head clearance. In summary the car is long on style and short on substsance. It full of 10 cent parts.

Great handling. Easy to control just like a smaller car. 40000+ miles no minor or major problems whatsoever. No parts has ever been replaced yet, including brakes. Amazingly roomy, once carried 12ft long pipe with rear seat folded down. Comfortable, fun to drive. Pulls good but transmission is too slow for manual shift down. The total maintenance cost in 3.5 years/40000 miles excluding oil & gas is no more than a few hundred bucks. Overall this is a *very* reliable car.

I loved this car when I first got it. It looked great and drove great. The problem came when the engine blew. After doing much research, I have found that there have been many problems with this model and the 2000. Engines blow prematurely and it costs anywhere between $3000 and $5000 to replace. I was told by the mechanic to fix the car and then sell it. That would be great, but the resale value has sharply declined in the last year due to so many problems with the engines. I strongly suggest...DON'T BUY THIS MODEL!

We bought the car new. Within the first year we had to have the transmission rebuilt, then the ac/heater went out. The next year we had to have the transmission rebuilt, then the window came off track. Next year we had to have the starter rebuilt and the starter switch replaced. Then the ac went out again and the other window came off track. Finally we had to bury the car as it died. The oil pump went out without the sendor working and this caused the engine to seiz. We will never buy a Dodge product again!!!!

I learn't a very expensive lesson take my advice buy a Accord or Camery for a few thousand more you'll be happier in the long run. I will admit that Chrysler makes nice looking cars but they lack the engineering to real make this a quality car. The biggest problem I had was at 20,000 miles the clear coat started to peal off the front of the car. Chrysler ended up repainting it and doing a lousy job. The trim "ES" and "Dodge" emblems look like crap now that the chrome plating has pealed off. Roters and front brakes at 40,000. Roters warped very bad. The driving lights are very disapointing, very dim, 35 watts and nothing larger available. Water in the headlights is very common. I am told that it is due to a pluged drain. I can't find it! Gas milage is awful. Average is 22-23. Basically the interior trim is ok. Everything fits together but the noise level in the car at 55 is awful.

I purchased the Intrepid after looking at the Volkswagon Passat. The Intrepid was roomier, it cost less, and had a better sound system and climate control. However, after just 37,000 miles, I had to replace the front bearing, rotors and pads under normal driving conditions at a cost of nearly $800. At 61,000 miles, I had to do the same for the rear. I also experienced transmission problems at 61,000 miles. I have enjoyed the room, comfort and gas mileage (23mpg city, 32mpg highway), but I am very disappointed in the mechanical quality of the vehicle.

Had to buy a new engine at a price of $3,000.00 with no help from Chrysler or Dodge... They would not release parts to any other mechanic due to the "newness" of vehicle. You know, nothing of this magnitude should happen to such a new car... So we were forced to see dealership to fix. Constant alignment problems- the car has never driven smoothly. New fuel injection pump also... and now mechanical problems. Also hubcabs are rusted through- no protected finish originally. We are presently looking to purchase a new car and will more than likely take a loss due to all problems.

So far me door handles, air condition vents, rear big brake light, ash trays, and the dash panel around my radio have all been broken. You would think just replace the handel to the door but of course the car is made with it being all attached so I had to purchase a whole new door $500.00, (luckly I found one at a junk yard for $100) air condition vents $27.00 each, panel around radio $100.00. This is my second Intrepid (my first new car purchase). I was drawn to the Intrepid mainly because of the price and the size. I found that the price was very affordable compared to equivalently-packaged Camrys and Accords. (However, the low resale value is going to come back to haunt me.) Being that I'm 6'4" tall, the Intrepid provides me plenty of room without cramping the rear passenger. Overall, my Intrepid has treated me very well. It performs very well on the highway, it's very comfortable to drive in, and the repairs have been insignificant.

My girlfriend bought this car used, one year-old. It has been a great car with only one minor problem (an electric window that won't go down in back). The ride is good and the handling is very surprising for a four door sedan. I am impressed with the car.

We bought this car at an auction. At the time it was only a year old but had been taken care of well. It had 60,000+ miles when we purchased it. It had been a corprate car used for a lot of highway miles. We got it with new tires & we believe new brakes. No problems so far. We get over 350 miles to the tank (17 gal, I believe). Great excelleration, even on long uphill stretches. Runs away from anything. Smooth ride but all weather tires make for a noisy ride. Very comfortable for long drives or short. Handles well in cornering. Loads of trunk space. Full size snowboard (for 6' son) fits inside trunk with all the other gear. Can't say enough good stuff about this car. Thanks Dodge.

I have driven this car for 3 years. Previously owned 3 Fords (Taurus). Liked the Intrepid very much, very roomy inside and large trunk. Car handles very well, with good power and great highway mileage. I would buy another Chrysler product.

Brakes went 2 times, After Driving it harder then 6 cars put it one, Floored on Every STOP LIGHT, Brake Usually last minute, Hard Surfaces, Stop Go Driving - CAR IS GREAt, Dont tell my dad bc he thinks the car sucks bc brakes went 2 times, but its really my fault, Started driving carefully now though, hope it lasts cant let it die early..

Excellent vehicle. Runs well with minimal problems. Good pick up and great for long drives. Lots of trunk space and interior space.
