I love this car, purchased in '03 with 30,500 miles on it and have been driving it daily since. It currently has 155k and the engine is still going strong w/ no oil consumption! regular maintenance is a must with any car and with proper care the 3.5 will last for years. Only once has this car had to be towed and that was due to a corroded battery cable, which I didn't realize until it was too late since the battery is not easily accessible. Other things I have had to fix/replace: trunk supports at about 75k, speed sensor at about 125k, ABS module at about 145k, struts at 150k, and water pump at 150k, everything else general maintenance and the list of things I had to fix/replace are short.

Purchased the car brand new, haven't had a major problem yet! Rear shocks squeak a bit, squeaking noise when i turn the wheel, and front speakers blew out, but other than that no problems. Great car! When I first got behind the wheel I expected it to be slower, but its pretty fast! Not as fast as my '03 Hyundai Tiburon, but still has lots of get up and go. Rides smoothly. Great features that come with and can be added on to car. Had the car 10 years and clear coat still intact, headlights haven't even fogged over, still crystal clear!

Love it, and love hurts!

I love this car, I have owned many Chrysler/Dodges from 70's, 80's 90's and 00's. I currently own a 60 Dodge Charger R/T. This LHS is great but some of the problems included replacing trany at 142,000 miles but hey that's 10 years. Plenty of power for the freeway passing and dusting kids in lil toy cars like Hondas. Smooth but noisy and bumpy on bad roads, almost rides like a sports car and feels better in high speed corners than my Charger R/T. Gas mileage for me has been very poor really, about 16- 20 average. I do live in Seattle where there is nothing but hills. But love it, there is too much room! Only complaint in interior is there is no spot to pt cell phone.

I love this car

Best, most comfortable car I've ever owned. Minor irritations: headlight seals, bass speakers, overheats if stands too long, one window motor, occasional short in interior lights brightness dial (and so headlights blink), A/C leaks, trunk supports died, bolts and knobs appear on the carpet. But solid on the road, peppy, smooth ride, looks great after 10 years, leather still in great condition. 14.5 mpg town, up to 33 mpg highway (flat road, no passengers). Had to have the rims specially treated so the seals wouldn't leak. I have 127,000 miles on it and it's still a great car. I just wish it had held its value as well as it has held its style.

But it looks so good....:(

When it was new man...it was a dream comfortable fast and over 30 mpg..first to go trans sensor, then fuel pump..driver window(glued bracket) I am currently replacing it for the 5th time, passenger side 4 times..both fans for engine..transmission died a few months ago..crank sensor, switch for seat heaters,, front speakers,,bug shield for wipers blew off...trunk supports..have 2x4 great replacement...Too bad Chrysler gets you hooked by beautiful designs and then engineers their cars to bring in maximum revenue for repairs and replacement parts....This was my 4th Chrysler and it will be my last...

I have problems getting it started sometimes and over heat problems but other than that once it gets going its really good the heat and air control lcd goes out sometime but one thing that I do love is the infinity sound system its so loud and good and clear the mids and highs are good and the lows is Wonder with that amplifier to pump it up.

The LHS is a gorgeous car even today (10 years later)Comfortable, sleek, nice ride. Some problems we've experienced as follows, Front window brackets bent and broke. AC condenser replaced but still leaking. Rack replaced twice. Alloy wheels erode and tires go flat have to have them sanded down and sealed. center caps rust and break off .Trunk supports needed replaced and most recently the windshield washer fluid won't squirt out. Thought it was an easy fix (pump) but not so easy after all they tell us the problem is one of the three computers for the car has a component that isn't working, But all and all has been relatively good car. And still looks and drives beautifully.

I absolutely love my LHS. Best car I have ever owned. I've had a few repairs done. Window on drivers side, speed sensor, starter, battery, cooling fans, transmission leak (under warranty), brakes, compressor (under warranty), and a few repairs made under recalls. I have the typical things going wrong with my car also seals around the headlights bad, replaced windshield bug guard, trunk release doesn't work. Shocks to hold up trunk are out. Air leaking around rims. Dash cracking on passenger side, window on passenger side doesn't work, windshield washer fluid reservoir doesn't work, clear coat peeling horribly, Speakers in dash are rotted out. But I still love my Chrysler LHS!

Our favorite car ever. Have had same probs as others here with trans sensor, oxy sensor, headolight rubber. I have gotten really good mileage though-- 27mpg local and up to 32.5 highway. This was from time of purchase to about 70K mi--now unexpectedly the mileage has dropped and only getting 25 local and 28 hwy.

I bought car in March 08 and I love it. Once I got in it I was in love. Get compliments all the time and is comfy with plenty of room. I have 181,653 miles on her and haven't had too much go wrong with her. Yes window motors die often in this car, battery to replace stinks, washer pump has went out and had overheating issue due to bad thermostat and clog in radiator hose. Yeah the stuff irritates me but I have learned that no car is perfect and my love for my car out weighs the anger. Newer the cars are the quality gets lower. It's not just Chrysler. Ask yourself, do you love your car....if yes...then it's worth fixing and keeping.

This car is very comfortable, and fun to drive. However it has been more and more unreliable as the days go by. I have had to replace two window motors, the oil pan (leaky), and the speedometer sensor within the last six months. It has gone from a cheap, fun car to a money pit. The rubber around the headlights is falling apart, and the hood trim came flying off a few weeks ago. I am going back to Hondas/Toyotas before the snow flies, because I am scared of being stranded by the side of the road in mid-winter.

Great engine, good handling, nice styling, under engineered windows, engine fans, sound system speakers. Had drivers window go inoperative, tranny sensor quit, speakers fell apart, heater quit working, seat heater quick working, sensor quit, they tell me the only fix is a new $800 Seat. Yeah right, good job Chrysler.

I absolutely love the LHS. I have owned multiple LHSs and keep coming back for more. My sister owns an LHS and I have owned three. After 10 years my '99 is still one of the best looking cars on the road. Driving this car feels like driving a much more expensive, high-end luxury vehicle. Acceleration is phenomenal considering the weight of the behemoth. Comfort is second to none, although road and wind noise is a bit sub-par. It has a few "gremlins", dash tends to split on the passenger side, door seals tend to fall, speed sensors have a history of going in this make, headlight seals like to separate and the headlight lenses tend to yellow and become milky, ect. All of these are EASY FIX!

This is a beautiful car, However, at 39,000 miles the timing belt jumped off the track damaging the engine to the tune of $3000. which was out of warranty due to the year. Chrysler would do absolutely nothing. Then needed a new battery. That's OK However, one must take off the right front wheel (add'l labor cost) to install the battery! At 42,000 miles I had to replace the fan in the radiator area to the tune of $350. The front speakers on gone and the rear window no longer works. I'm selling the car asap. At 44,000 miles (While it is still running ). I was told by a mechanic that at 50K miles these Chryslers begin to have all sorts of problems..

I've never owned a car that required more repairs than this LHS. Love the looks and comfort, but build quality is well below competitors. Here is a list of repairs since ownership: struts, window motors (twice), seat heater switch, air conditioner (twice), wheel bearings, trunk weatherstripping, front speakers, windshield wiper motor, EGR valve, cycling sound of dash motor...most were replaced under warranty. Next vehicle will be reviewed more closely for reliability...I can thank Chrysler for that!

Car has had great reliability, except for electrical trouble w/ driver's side espress-down window feature. Mileage is still 27-28 on highway, low 20's in town. Trunk is huge. Fit & finish not good; big gaps inside around doors, and door gaskets have needed re-glued. Pretty manueverable for a big car. Big blind spots to rear make backing out of parking a challenge.

This car was inherited w/47K on odometer from my mother. She drove about 11K yearly in MI . Garaged and Maintained. It was a bit too much for our family re: size but comfort and no debt overruled an immediate sale. LHS mainly used as long-distance commuter. Major costs were A/C condenser replacement, a few trim items that were costly, and 2 window motors going out. Again, comfort, decent mpg ~26 Hwy, and style won over. During the two years we have own it has been driven ~60K, Upon reflection, the car would have rec'd a higher rating if expenses mentioned above has already occurred. Not my mothers fault!

Excellence in driving, performance, comfort, styling and looks. However, it is a toss up as to what is flawed in an individual vehicle. Chrysler put out an expensive car, then walked away from any kind of responsibility to it's obvious defects. Problem is, once you driven one you can't go back.

I bought the 1999 LHS in October 1999 and compared it to the Lincoln and Buick. The ugly Park Avenue was $6000 more with fewer amenities. The Trunk is cavernous and flat unlike the Lincoln. The ride is great. The sound system incredible. It is the best looking luxury car in the past 10 years. It is a wonderful highway car with plenty of power.

The car looks great. I get comments all the time. Very confortable. Lots of trunk and interior space and fun to drive. Downfalls, Repair cost are very high, A/C condencer 1100.00 dol. Fan replacements 700.00 dol. and it vacates the a/c which you have to recharge. Bad design if you ask me. Electrical gliches with dash dimmer, flicker on its oun at times. Window switch work interminitly. Recommend get a good warrentty and keep it up to date as long as you own the car.

I love to drive the LHS as it is very responsive and a lot of power. However, I have spent several thousands of dollars on oxygen sensors (kills the air condition and will not shift gears- go figure), simple fans ($700) which also kill the A/C, The inside door came undone by the plastic at the bottom and it took many hours to get the door open. Two of 4 windows have stopped working and it costs about 400 dollars to fix. Too many maintenance worries- time to go back to foreign made cars.

Only minor problem was driver side window motor going and switch in heated seat replaced by Chrysler for no charge! I have owned 8 cars so far(GM,Ford,Jeep)and this one is the best so far!

An excellent value! Engine is great, 235HP. Heated leather seats and great Infinity sound system. Fuel economy is good for this class: 25- 30 hwy. The trunk is a huge cavern. Could have shortened the overall vehicle length and/or increased the leg room by shrinking the trunk a bit. The interior noise level is pretty high for a luxury car. It handles well, with 17-inch alloy wheels and low-profile tires, but its not terribly quiet. If you want a sporty luxury car without going to Mercedes or BMW to get it, this is the one!

Drivers window motor replace twice. Car shakes dealer says it's tires, tire dealer says it's the car. Rubber seal came loose from around both headlights. Drivers seat moving as you drive, replacement part has been on order for almost 4 weeks. Noises from front suspension, some repaired after 2 years others we are living with. Way too much road noise. Big disappointment for what was sold as their top of the line.

Lights interior flicker, Tires have been replaced three times, windshield replaced, security key antena replaced, ac out twice in 1 year, noise coming from side view mirrors re plalced, rubber around headlights reglued, Transmission sensor went out twice, overall a very great looking car, dealership (Brevard Chrysler) did what they could, close to a lemon, under a lease, for one more year, can't get any relief, wish I could, would get rid of this thing in a heartbeat.

So Far nothing major.

I bought my LHS in 1999. I have had only minor problems with the speed sensor and some road noise. My speakers crackle even when it's low. After getting rid of a minor vibration caused by bad tires, the car rides great. Overall I have had a good experience with my LHS. My dealership has come through for me even on items not covered under warranty.

Bought this car new and drove it a lot all over the country.Three trips to Colorado from Georgia and at least that many to Florida and Cleveland Ohio. Short trips about 25% long hauls rest of the miles. Normal mtce. Just put on third set of tires. Still with the original brakes,at least 10k+ more miles expected on them! 22 mpg overall and 26.8 on trips. It's an easy ride at and above the limit. I'd buy another one.But it's no longer available but the concorde might be just as good.

This car has been a problem since day one. 3 of 4 windows motors replaced. Heated seats twice. Headlights flicker and Chrysler can't fix. Transmission sensors just went out. I would have to say this is the worst car to own. I am getting rid of this thing even if I have to take a loss. This is the first and only time I buy a Chrysler product.

I love this car! Sure it had some typical "first year" quirks, but my window motor was quickly replaced under warranty with no hassles. Reliability has been great. No other non-scheduled maintenance needed and I am at 40K. The ride is beautiful, the interior gorgeous and classy, and performance is great!

I have had nothing but problems out of this car. first it took 2 years to get all of the electric windows fixed and working properly. At 35000 mi the transmission went out due to the speed sensor failing.I have 56000 miles on my car and the and i just lost the A/C it appears that the Compressor has gone out. The dash board has a crack in it for no apparent reason; my 33 year old truck doesnt even have a cracked dashboard. Over all the LHS has been a bad experiance it does look nice and rides comfortable when it works.

Myself (1999 LHS) and two other owners of (300M) have experienced problems with the windows quite working, heaters quite working, transmitions have problems and the sad part about it, is that Chrysler knows about the problems and will not recall for the defects. One 300M's heater just went out and will cost $800 to fix. We have fought with Chrysler to no avail. Shame on Chrysler, no wonder they are going down.

1999 LHS a great auto
