I have owned Camaros before and loved them. I bought a 2002 SS new thinking it was last year for Camaros, and later sold it because that wasnt the case. The whole time I owned it, my daughter had a 2000 V6 Camaro that I, quite frankly, enjoyed driving more than the SS. When she traded it for an Equinox, I kicked myself for years for not buying it from her before she traded it. Fast forward 5 years. I had been looking for years for another V6 Camaro just to have fun with. I found one on the internet with only 5,000 miles on it and purchased it because of my previous experience with Camaros. This one will always be with me as a summer time weekend driver

This car is arguably the best value out there for a blazingly quick, front engine/rear wheel drive set up, no strings attached. The Corvette 5.7 liter engine has been toned down a notch and dropped into the Camaros and Firebirds for years, but last year GM moved away from the LT1 and switched to the more powerful LS1 engine. The car I drove was equipped with factory T-tops, which were very easily removed and stored and looked fantastic. The car is available with the standard 4-speed automatic, but I would recommend the optional 6-speed manual. This is truly a fantastic value for money, combining awesome power with a great body style. This car will turn the head of any gearhead or car fan.

Great town show off car and runs & drives wonderful on open road. Acceleration at any speed is great stooping very good with the all wheel disk brakes. Have smoked many mustang half its age. Get many remarks about its style and black body with the full factory dress up body features spoilers etc. Full factory stock car. Currently has 34k miles. A well cared for cherry car. Steering hi speed curves super control. Working at Iowa
s largest track "Iowa speed way" I understand car control pretty well.

I bought my camaro in 2008 with 97,000 miles on it, I have put 117,000 on it in 2 yrs, in the 2 yrs of owning it I have replaced the rear end and the clutch, a/c refill, transmission lost 5th gear and it was the c clip fell off, and it blew a head gasket also had a lifter making noise, I paid $8,000 for it and have 12 in and it's broken down every summer the only time of the year I love to drive it the things I love about my car is the t-tops so easy to take off and throw in the trunk, looks, lot of get up n go, great handling, comfortable, I tell myself I am going to sell it after I fix it every time something goes wrong but then I drive it and I don't want to get rid of it, I love driving it too much

Ok kids. You probably don't even know what the review title means, sigh. Look it up. I bought mine new, 4/24/99. Only serious problem - annoying rear end noise, but I'll get that fixed someday. New Katskin Black (real black, not some misnamed gray) leather, new top, just had a repaint, incredible. Bought 99 'cause dealer said no more would be built. Wrong - three more years! However, I've had it for over 11 yrs and it can't be bought. Like my wife and kids, not perfect, but wouldn't trade for anything. Car has many imperfections, but like I said I wouldn't trade it for anything. Defines Bang for the Buck! Great performance, terrible comfort for an old guy, but I'll own it.

The camaro is fun to drive, when it's not stalled beside the road. Since I got the car in 2003 I've had to replace the 02 sensor, temperature sensor, thermostat, alternator, timing belt, belt tensioner, catalytic converter, both window motors, battery, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, and two 2 coils. Both visors have fallen out, roof is not sealed (I get wet when it rains) and water gets in the trunk. The CD player doesn't work anymore, all the speakers have failed, and the car stalls frequently and no one can figure out why. The car is so loud I can barely hear the radio. Oh, and my AC and Heat quit working too. I'm completely disgusted. But at least the car looks good.

I also own a 1994z28 great cars with awesome power numbers for both motors lt1 & ls1 don't let the mustang hype fool you. Any of these motors in stock form will rock a stock 4.6 3v or stock 4.62v. I also had a 2005 gt ls1 and lt1 still beat it. Ford has to use a super charger all in all I would stick with a camaro for performance and ride

Has gone through two manual transmissions, radiator replaced, rear end bearings went out, druveshaft couplings relaced, PCM replaced(water damage, bad design under window sill where water runs right onto it). Seats stink, absolutely the worst design for neck support. Rear seat is worthless. Very noisy car. I wear ear plugs its so loud. Driving lights are useless. Positive side, fast and handles well. Very bad car to drive in winter, no traction control on mine at least. Recommend a second car, this being only used for summer or dry conditions.

This is my first car. I'm 16 and I love this car. Good things are the get up and go it has despite it being a V6. It is comfortable too. I've only had it two weeks but the guy I got it from had it since '99 and has never replaced the AC, which works great. It does creak if I turn the wheel all the way one direction and start moving. The worst part is the K-mart cheap plastic on the inside. Some pieces were already broken when I got it. For a 9 year old car with 113,000 miles it, it is in great condition and works great. I love it.

Bought my V-6 Camaro used with 78000 miles on it and now have almost 100000 on it, and it still looks and drives immaculatte for as much use as it gets. I have not had a problem with this car since I bought it, and this is by far one of the funnest cars to drive. 5 speed manual is a plus, and the clutch and tranny are very well made. The engine also puts out a decent amount of power for a 6 cyl. I love this car inside and out. The handling, braking, power, and looks of this car give it a 10 out of 10 in my eyes. I just wish gas prices and insurance wearnt so expensive so I could afford the SS!

I have had my car now for over a year and I drive it every day. I wrote a review when I first aquired the vehicle and rated it at about 8.6 or something like that. I was wrong. My Camaro is darn near a 10 in almost every area. This car has been very dependable and reliable, I put at least 100 miles on the car per day, 5 days out of the week, it has never let me down. I simply keep up on the regular maintance schedule, put gas in it and it keeps on going. The things that were "drawbacks" for me at first have become non-issues now that I am used to my car. I love my '99 Camaro, I never tire of driving it!

This car is all about performance, so I guess it is not for everybody. I didn't think I would keep it for 8 years, but here comes 2007 and I have no plans to sell. With minor mods it is still faster than 95% of street cars, it has nice fuel economy [especially for 350hp V8, at 28 highway mph only the lighter Vette can touch that], it is pretty reliable (for me the only major item over 8 years was ignition sensor, $400), and being hatchback it is also suprisingly practical and roomy and carried a lot of stuff for me, from Christmas trees to chairs. Ah, and don't forget why people buy it - LS1/LS2/LS3/LS4/LS6/LS7 is the best engine and found its way into everything from Mazda's to Porsche.

I have owned my Camaro for about 2 and half years now and I have loved the car. The power is great and the top speeds are insane. The car has 84000 miles on her and she has had the transmission replace and the rear inner bearings. Other than that the car has been great. The stock air intake on the car dampers the performance, but can be easily and cheaply replaced. The car is amazing stock, but it's crazy with some mods. Pacesetting makes a great set of headers for the car that will give it a great sound out the rear end and boost up its hp, but it kinda takes away from the low end torque. Also would recommend getting wider tires for the rear end if any performance mods are done.

I love this car. it handles beautifully and is a real joy to drive, especially on nice days when I can drive with the top down. The engine, a 3800 series II is sound and runs great. I get super gas milage without losing any "get up and go" My only complaint would be that the convertible is very hard to see out of when the top is up. Lack of good visibility would be my main concern with this car but other than that a super car and a great buy! (I bought mine for $6000.)

I have had this car for a year and a half and commuting. I was very excited when I got it, but then, not so much. I have replaced the spark plugs (3 times and impossible to get at), ignition wires (twice), all three ignition coils, ignition module, drive shaft (have to buy a new 2 piece to replace center bearing, GM doesn't sell the bearing $625, or convert to single piece $180), tires (twice, my fault though), both window motors, clutch, fuel filter, a T-top, catalytic converter, A/C compressor, alternator, battery, rebuilt the transmission. This is insane. I hate this car. I spend more time and money trying to fix it than I do driving.

The Camaro SS Conv. is a great muscle car. It's got the fabled LS1 and a T56 6-speed and makes a honest 350hp stock. These cars are fast and will easily smoke nearly any car on the road. The LS1 is an absolute gem of a motor, the only better one might be the supercharged 4.6L DOHC motor in the 03-04 cobra. Things you should know though, the interior is shoddy, and there is only room for short people in the back. It does get good mileage for what it is, expect 19-20 avg in mixed driving. It does have a long overhang and it feels like a big car. A Mustang GT feels smaller.

This car is a fun car to drive and the V-6 has a lot of power. But thats where the fun ends. In the 3 years I owned the car, I realized there is always something to fix on this car. First off, the GM build quality is horrible. The car is a pain to work on, nothing lines up. The front fenders are totally uneven with the doors and the car has never been in an accident. The glue on the seals in the trunk came undone and had numerous puddles under the rear seats. The driver seat creaks and moves a little while driving.2 pieces fell off from under the car and I do not know where they came from. Watch the weather reports b/c snow will make u stay put, dont even try to drive in the snow, waste of time.

This is a fun car and it looks great, so if you like that for a cheap price this is all you need. But you better have a couple grand on hand for repair costs. AC compressor, fuel pump (TWICE), gaskets, transmission service, brakes, etc. have all failed early, by 60,000 miles. Be ready for headaches to offset the driving experience.

This vehicle has been the car of my
dreams since 1998, when I first saw a 98
Camaro SS. While this isn't the SS,
it's easy to make it look and act like
one. The styling of this car is
controversial, you either love it or
hate it. The front end looks stolen
from the Chrysler Concorde to many, and
share a distinct similarity... but
that's where any comparison ends. This
car is FAST, STRONG, and the very
picture of AMERICAN MUSCLE!

Sept. of 1998, and have absolutley NO
COMPLAINTS. No problems, excellent
performance, and great quality. Five
summers of fun, fun, fun... GM did

This car is a blast to drice,
especially if you crave American
muscle-car performace. V8 Power, a
loud exhaust, and that classic jet
fighter look, although later editions
of this rear-drive torque-monster have
a face like the Concorde, and we are
not talking about the supersonic jet
here either. On long trips the
harsness of the Z28 experience can get
on your nerves but the gas mileage
will be surprisingly good. I have
gotten 26 MPG in this car! driven
strictly around town expect a mere 16.

What a blast to drive! Pop out the T-
tops, crank up the tunes, and find the
road with the most curves! People often
disrespect the V-6 Camaro, favoring the
V-8. Those are the ones who have never
driven one! Granted, it's not a 305
horse monster like the Z-28, but the
lighter V-6 placed nearly under the
dashboard helps for much better weight
disribution and go-cart like handling.
The car has enough power to be fun, yet
is quite controllable and predictable.
It isn't a Z-28 but then again, it has
nothing to prove....only to impress!

At 5000+ feet above sea level
completely stock Z28, my first G-Tech
scored 5.42 seconds 0-60. This car is
tough. The best styling is the rear
quarters and tail pipe design. I grew
to dislike the front head lights--
reminiscent of the new dodge sedans.
This was the ultimate entry level
sports car.

I have been both very happy with my
driving experience and happy with my
dealers who have helped maintain this
car.
I live and work in San Francisco which
is a very car unfriendly place to
drive. My 99 six speed SS has handled
the steep bumpy hilly terrain admirably.
The car has been maintained at a local
dealer and with 65,000 miles has not
experienced any problems.
We don't have any plans on selling this
car. When the time comes we will retire
it to part time duty.
Our trouble will be replacing it with
something as exciting as this SS.

its a good car to drive in the summer
but you have to be careful when it is
raining. Thats why im happy to have
the sgs button to help get traction in
the rain.

I've driven my '99 V-6 coupe almost 50k
miles now, and it has operated
flawlessly. It has only been in the
shop once for a blown catalytic
converter, which was covered under
warranty. Snow tires make winter
driving a lot easier in northern
areas. It's amazing what you can fit
in this car if you're creative - I've
hauled over a yard of mulch, 32" TV's,
gas grills. Gas mileage averages
around 20MPG with mixed city/hwy
driving. Definitely get the manual
trans - my '96 with the auto wasn't
nearly as fun. Overall a great car for
the price! Don't waste your money on
the V-8 unless you live somewhere with
a lot of open roads and no cops.

I really like my car. I've had it for 3
years now and 46K miles and it is fun,
grogeous, fast and was dirt cheap to
buy. Great fuel consumption too. The V6
with the manual is fast enough for me
and insurance is very reasonable
compared to the V8. This is a great car
for those of us who love a sports car
but cant afford a BMW M3 or an AUDI S4.
Only problem has been radio static
since about 10Kmiles. Dealer has tried
everything and cant fix it. It is
really annoying...
I will need to buy another car in the
next couple of years as we now have two
kids and I have no idea what to get. I
wish they made a 4 door camaro... :)

Best modern day muscle car/daily driver
period! Nothing can match the
performance and enjoyablity without
spending at least $50,000-$60,000. I
would be lost without this car!!!

I bought this car brand new in 1998,
Since then, I have taken good care of
it and it has taken care of me, the
only thing that happened so far is the
battery died.

borla cat back exhaust, along with
changing the air induction!i also
reccomend getting the extended warranty!

in the shop more then i would like.bad
water pump,rear bearings,leaking out of
