INCREDIBLE USED CAR EXPERIENCE

5
SL DRAKE on 07/26/2016

Customer Service: 5.0 Buying Process: 5.0

Living in Hawaii and trying to buy a used car in California presents it's own special difficulties. I had researched my cars and knew exactly what I wanted, but was unable to get to the best ones fast enough before they were snapped up. The day before I was to travel to SoCal up popped my perfect vehicle with ultra low, miles. It was Sunday at 5pm in SoCal, but my phone call was answered, yeah!I explained my situation, inquired about the car and was assured it was as good as the 30+ online photos represented. Since I was flying in the next morning, and renting a car to come directly to his lot, the manager made sure the car was ready for my inspection and available to me as first responder to the ad. Upon arrival, the vehicle was PERFECT! Majid had told me on the phone the price was FIRM and since I had done my due diligence I knew this was right. No haggling, just priced right, I liked that. The paperwork was prepared while I returned my rental and Ubered back. While fueling my car for me, a minor glitch showed up, but Majid had it repaired at HIS expense by a reputable mechanic in a flash. The paperwork was signed and I had a GREAT vehicle in tip top shape, both mechanically and visually. Professional, pleasant, plain speaking dealings with vehicles of a dependable quality, what more can one ask from a used car sales experience? I waited 2 weeks to write this review because I have been back and forth to China (Where I am writing this from) and I wanted to drive the vehicle a bit before writing. It drives like a dream and I am SO HAPPY with my purchase.I would recommend Ultimate Autoline with no hesitation. Happy buying!

I just came through Southern Texas thunderstorm where it was raining so hard visibility was reduced to a couple of car lengths at times, or worse. I knew the car comes with a brighter taillight for just such circumstances, that's number one safety. I also noted how other smaller but good cars handled and even some of the SUV's. I was immediately aware by this that the Volvo 960 is not only safe but handles very well in difficult weather conditions. The rain was pouring down so the drains could not get it off the road fast enough - no matter which road. I was impressed how the Volvo plowed through the water and maintained complete stability. I bought it at 62500 and it's great!!!!

very reliable even w/ 200+

I loved this Caesar. Got it will 204000 and took it to 220000 and only fixed a wire with supplies I already had. Never stranded me and even when the wire broke she still got me home. Only sold it because I began commuting and the gas mileage sucked. But that is the only bad thing I have to say about the car. Put all those miles on it and still sold her for a profit. EXCELLENT CAR

This has been an amazing car for me. I got it with a bit over 100,000 miles on it, and have not had to bring it to the shop for anything besides normal maintenance in the three years and additional 60,000 miles I've put on it, even after sitting twice for periods of four months when I went to school. Seats are very comfortable. Coming to this car from an old very luxurious Cadillac was an easy transition; the Volvo is about as comfortable but handles like a sports car. Very grippy, poised, and well balanced. 200 hp isn't a ton, but the large amount of torque hits hard at any rev. It has little cool features too like the door handles and a drip edge so so don't get wet when you pay a toll.

This car is wonderful. I felt very safe and comfortable in my volvo. I purchased this car about a year ago. The only problem (purchased with the car) was a rear main seal leak. Car need more power and rear leg room. massive trunk, comfortable ride, maximum visability, ease of drive, turning radius, and fuel economy make this car perfect for travel.

I purchased this Volvo 9 months ago with 194,000 miles on it, it has been a fun car to drive and haven't had a stitch of problems. The turning radius is awesome and the ride is like a tight sports ride. The body has no rust, which says alot for a Chicago car. I have now turned 204,000 and still going strong. I do like this style better than the newer ones. The only issue is the front seats won't move forward or back, everything else is great

I love Volvos, except this '96

Had it for three months. Purchased with 96,000 miles. We're at 100,000 now with a new transmission, struts, cup holder, etc. It's fun to drive, but I hope the kinks in the '96 were fixed for the 960's last year. I really only gets 17 to the gallon anyways.

I bought this car as inexpensive transportation. It looks great inside and out, and has a ton of great features, especially for an older car. So far everything works great on the inside, I've had problems with the car overheating and a blown headgasket. But, the car has almost 150k, so I guess I should be happy with whatever I get out of it.

It's Marvelous Darling!

It's amazing! Comfortable, elite, handles like a dream. Sharp in looks, classy to own. This is my work car. We own a new 2007 s80 purchased last summer for our "Sunday driving" car, and love both our old and new models!

This is a good car. Body design and put-together is poor. Little things break and fall apart. Drive train is good. very poor mileage for a 6 cyl.

The joint venture with Asia has created a smooth and strong engine which doesn't blink when tested. The sound system, interior, and finishings leave very little to question.

Pleased except for a few very expensive fixes...AC @ $64,000 miles. Recent $1000 expense to replace vacuum system behind dash to support AC system. Dealership has been very professional and helpful...a "10." Still pretty noisy after trying a variety of tires.

This car has been great. I am, however, having to replace a transmission switch that has gone bad. This cost about $115, but has been the only major replacement/repair needed since I have owned the car. It had 94K on it when purchased and currently has 131k and is still going. The paint and exterior has held up great. I hit a pole - almost no damage besides a paint scratch!

I bought this car from a private party when it was 2 years old. It has been a wonderful car to own and drive with the following exceptions: 1) the painted bumpers mar easily, and it's ugly to see the paint scratched off portions 2) the cup holders are a joke; I've replaced them, and they broke again very quickly 3) the a/c doesn't turn off.....in fact there should be climate control installed; but the heater is excellant (guess they use it in sweden more than the a/c?) 4) the leather seats crack, even with my continual maintenance...so suspect quality as being not so good.

It's "OK" but not worth the up-keep.

It's handles very well. I was very impressed with this aspect of the car. The comfort is so so for a big guy like me but my wife really enjoys. When I bought it they replaced the AC compressor and it's going bad 6 months later. I spent a fortune on a couple of oil leaks and some needed repairs. Got it home and the check engine light came on the next day which cost me about $500 more dollars. It's been back in the shop about once a month. The service guy told me last time I've replace most everything so it should be "OK" now. The sad thing is after spending all that money I still don't feel safe in the car. So, if your intrested it's for sale.

I like this car. (so far)

We thought this would be an excellent, reliable family car, but it has been a piece of junk. We've spent no less than $1000 on maintenance. The AC has gone out, the headlights have died; the radio is terrible; the brakes have gone out; the ENGINE BLOCK cracked!! I wish I'd never even conisidered a Volvo and I certainly never will again.

Tightest turning radius of any car I have had 31.8'. You can get hooked on this real quick. Quick u turn to get out of a jam? No problem with this 960. Great ride, high seating position, great visablity, firm but not harsh luxury ride with Michelins, great handling, great dash, quality feel throughout, huge trunk with pass through for ski's. Great sound system. Perfect conservative auto. Does not compare with 5 series BMW though - but it was meant to.

This car has the best ride of any Volvo I've ever driven, and I've driven every model since the PV544. It even equals the smoothness of a Cadillac, without sacrificing handling and performance. In the words of my girlfriend "Wow, it's so easy to drive!" I believe this is the finest car Volvo has ever built.

The car is impressive with respect to safety and braking, although anti-lock brakes are noisy when used. The shape is distinctively Swedan and has a certain amount of respect to its boxy shape. The all inclusive options provided on this car made it very easy to purchase. Great sales experience, brought my car into showroom and then I drove it out myself.

I had a lot of problems with my '96 960. First there was the front end, then the air conditioner went out, twice! There were a number of problems that one would not expect from a one year old luxury car. Check the Consumer Reports Relibility and you will see what I mean. I just bought a Lexus ES 300 instead. Back to Japanese cars.

This car was purchased from an individual in Texas and shipped directly to our home. A Volvo dealer did the pre-purchase inspection for us. This car has been extremely reliable, gets pretty good gas mileage (about 19), and handles great. My husband loves that it will turn on a dime. We have really enjoyed the winter package features and the transmission setting for winter driving is helpful in ice and snow. We have taken two trips cross-country so far, and the perfomance of the car is the same no matter the terrain, weather, or distance. The booster seat is a nice touch for smaller passengers and there is plenty room to fit carseats comfortably.

very comfortable car, exelent brakes, the fuel eficency is not what i expected but is not an american car that`s fore sure. a very reliable car, i found few trobles on the 1993 model, like adjusment of the center console, fuel efeciency, and noice isolation. so safe that you can think than the car is a small war tank.

After many miles(145,000), I still enjoy driving the car. It handles and brakes exceptionally well for a four- door sedan. The seats and roominess make long drives easy as it is fun to drive. The only complaint is minor. The power does not match its precise handling capabilities. The 2.9 inline-6 is smooth and free-reving but this chasis could handle much more than the 200+hp that came from Sweden. Although not slow by any means, I would like to have sports car acceleration to match the sports car handling.
