My first car was the '95 Bonneville SE, and I loved it! I went in the service and GAVE my car to my brother (he needed a car that fit him & 5 kids). He was drinking one night and crashed dead on into a cement wall at 100 mph (no kids with him). All he had was a bruise on his chest. I saw the car a few days later and was amazed because even though the entire front end was destroyed, the passenger compartment was relatively undamaged. The doors wouldn't open and there was glass all over the front seat as the passenger window broke, and the engine had pushed the passenger side of the dash forward about 6 in. The backseat was untouched. Just bought a '99 and I love it.

I'm a 16 year old senior this year and just got rid of my 1995 Pontiac Bonneville SE. My Bonneville was the most dependable ride ever. I could fit 5 comfortably when heading to the beach but had 8 in a one time. This car accelerated very fast for such a heavy car. The only thing I could not stand/ afford was the gas mileage. it was terrible. Besides that i'll def by another Bonneville. I got a new car now its a 1996 Chrysler Sebring LXi. I hope its has reliable has my Bonneville.

The car overall is a gem, it's older so i obviously expect repairs. Think of it this way get a newer car that looks ordinary and is basic or get an older car and spend a little money to make good as new and it'll be different in so many ways compared to the new ordinary ones. overall very solid, always getting compliments on it.

Best and worst car I've ever owned. Has all the speed and features I could want but a long repair list. Transmission went twice, engine once, radiator and hoses, all major brake components (computer, valve, etc.). Gas lines leaked, fuel pump and sender shot, tail lights leak like crazy causing shorts, suspension bit the dust twice, several electrical problems, interior leaked like crazy, cd player has broken more times than I can count, The supercharger went even with good maintenance. Now the wheel hub/bearings need to be replaced because t bearings are bad and 2 abs sensors went. If you want to throw your money to the wind this is the car for you!

Bought this car 6 years ago with 50000 miles on it. Runs like a dream. Replaced motor at 90000 miles not because the motor was bad but because the intake manifold line busted and leaked all over the motor. Would recommend anyone who had this vehicle to replace the original intake manifold line.

I've owned this car for 8 months as of this writing and I'm not impressed with this car from GM. I've had to replace the water pump, UIM gasket, ECM, and have delt with a persistent water leak into the interior (now solved). I've always purchased GM cars and this one doesn't add a great mark for them in my book. Fuel economy is not as high as previous 3800 powered cars I've owned. I average about 24.9 in my Bonneville. That's what my V8 powered Oldsmobile Aurora averages. The engine/transaxle combination feels somewhat taxed in this big front- weheel-drive. It is as bout as fun as my Aurora to drive though. Good firm suspension.

One of the best !

Around town I get 21 mpg, on the Interstate at 75-80 I get 27 mpg. It is one of the best driving cars I have owned. It has 111,000 miles now and have only done routine maintenence, change oil, filters, tires, brakes when required. Use the best oil and tires. I'll probably give it to one of my kids, who are 45,52, and 54.

the bonnevilles are great cars. the fuel economy isn't the best but it's good for its size. the top speed isn't what i though it would be, 110mph@4500rpm's then the car shuts down. other than that i love my car.

Plastic Lower intake manifold had to be replaced at 100k ... Luckily I do my own work so I saved the $350 labor bill. I also had some minor brake issues. Great Car ! Just tired of driving it ... had it since my nine yr old twin boys were born. Selling the car now ... has 125k and still runs strong

I love my Bonneville!!

This car has had NO major problems and it now has 115,000 miles on it. Aside from a plugged gas filter, it has never broken down, has driven with race car precision through Chicago traffic and has been comfortable on long hauls. It's the best car I have ever owned; I have owned 11 cars or trucks. I can't say enough good about the car!!

Just as reliable as any Toyota!

This has been an excellent car. It has 164000 miles on it and I have only ever had to put a water pump and a crank pulley on it. I do all my own work, and I know what a problem free car is, and this car is it. Fun to drive with the supercharger! I love the options (leather, sunroof, etc.) too. I love the design (even better than the 2000 model type SE). Gas mileage is not as good as I hoped (24 hwy on premium), but that might be a fault of the supercharger. The only other fault I can claim is the lack of lumbar support on the SE model. I treat the transmission well and it has lasted too!

One good car for first timers

Bought used with 31K miles, turns out to be the best car I've ever owned. Until 162,000 miles have replaced only intake manifold and water pump in addition to periodic maintenance schedule. Many 1100-1500 mile straight-shot drives. Absolutely reliable, fun to drive, cruise at highway ++ speeds all day, and this with 24-26 mpg average. Extremely safe and handles like a champ in water and snow. Superb car in every respect. Engine called it quits at 162K and I am replacing it as car is still a tremendous, safe, smooth and solid ride. My overall rating is a full 9 out of 10.

Bonnie has been an OK vehicle. One week after I purchased it the sound system smoked. Ride control option with air shocks is great. Promotes ride like some European performance sedans. The engine is the first appearance of GM's 3800 II and has used oil since the day I drove it off the lot. No excuse for poor engine quality. The only reason I have kept the vehicle for this long (10) is that the ride is much better since I installed Michelin tires. Will never purchase GM product again.

Purchased car from daughter-needed a van-at approx 45K. Now has 190,810 miles. Gets low 20s mpg in city even with A/C and high 20s highway. Great ride, but miles tell on rear axle supension with rear seat passengers. Console cup holder broken & radio controls on steering do not function now. Front profile is now dated; however side & rear profile look great. Normal minor repairs, water pump, fuel pump, & master cylinder. Engine & trans working great best GM combo manufactured

GM has poor quality, being kind so as not to offend. Things that broke with less than 100k: engine & transmission (both replaced), driver's door lock, brake master cylinder, steering wheel radio controls, center console latch, automatic headlights, jack holder bracket (spot welds missing/failed), fuel pump, fuel gauge, paint peeling on roof & rear quarters, and headliner falling. Dealer of no help. Purchased from coworker (2nd owner), car had all maintenance performed at recommended intervals, was NOT abused or neglected. Owned mostly GM in the past but no more!

Bought the car after totalling a 98 Mazda 626. great car for travelling long distances (as I do frequently) moderate gas mileage for its age. Transmission died, and replaced. Head gaskets blew and warped heads. Other than the mechanical parts, the car has been great. However, these cars will never re-sell for a decent price...Paid 6K in 2001 (cheap for its time), now the max price i can get from mine would be about 3K

Since I have purchased this vehicle about a year ago, I have felt really comfortable driving. This bonnieville was my first car I have driven since I have gotten my license also about a year ago and I tell you that I wouldn't have any other car then a pontiac. Since being a senior in high school I had a lot of money going out and I didn't really want to have to worry about gas money all the time and with the bonnieville I didn't have to worry about the gas.

I've owned a 87 SE, 88 SSE, and now my 95 SSEi. The 88 has over 200k on it and is driven daily. I always wanted a red Bonne, and though I liked the styling of the 88 better, the 95 SSEi still turns heads and can outrun a lot of sportier cars from the light. It's stored and has only 64k on it now. I only wish it had the CD player, otherwise it has every option. Styling of the 88 was better.

The Supercharged SE offers ample power (255 hp)and exceptional fuel efficiency for a supercharged car. This car has all the comfort one should expect in a premium vehicle--leather, premium CD player, performance/normal shift, power everything. The seats are comfortable on long trips, steering is responsive, brakes are firm, crash rating is good, and room is exceptional. This car is lighter than the more handsomely equipped SSEi but shares the same drivetrain, giving it a sleeper effect. Reliability is very good.

This Bonneville has by far been the best, most reliable car I've owned. I bought mine new, and at 8 years old, it is in better condition with fewer repairs than any other car I have owned. A word to the wise on shopping for a Bonneville. They are not all the same by any means. Depending on how the car was optioned, it might ride smooth or firm... have just ample power or smoke the tires due to various drive ratios. There was a SLE version (now a separate model) of the SE which can be more of a performance car than the basic SSE - all depending on the option list. So drive the specific car you are interested in and don't judge this model by the cover.

I purchased my Bonneville used with 48000 miles on it. She was fun and nice to drive everyday. I kept her for four years and added another 90000 miles to her. Headgasket replaced at 115,000 and the transmission started acting up at 135,000. Good car for the first 110,000 miles, after that prepare for the nickel and dime stage.

My dad bought this car for me because he figured it was a great car for a 17 year old kid. At first I was a little taken aback because of the lenght and width of this car but in time it grew on me. Right now I enjoy driving this car more then my moms 2002 Nissan Pathfinder. It has all the necessary things that I need to drive in comfort and also I installed an aftermarket MP3 player so now I have enough music to last even the longest trips. Also,my car is special because it was originally purchased with the 16 inch wheel option which adds to the the performance value. Its powertrain is VERY capable.

Center cup holder broke about 10,000. Sunglass holder broke at 100,000. Smooth quiet ride, wonderful climate control, excellent handling. Even w/meticulous maintenance, engine blew 120,000. Replaced w/rebuilt & hasn't been the same since. Regrettably,I must trade her as I have moved & need a 4x4 for the hard winters.I would buy another in a heartbeat.I will truly this car. Thanks Pontiac,it has been a GREAT ride!

My mom recently bought a Ford Mustang Convertable so I got her hand-me- down '95 Bonneville SE. She still misses her Bonne because it has all of those extra options that her sports car doesnt have. I drive it around all the time and it has excellent handling and smoothness. I'm starting to modify it and put eXtras on it. This car is awesome. It's pick-up and speed is very nice for my liking for a 4-door sedan. I'd say it could handle way more than half the cars you see on the street.

Have experienced too many problems even though vehicle only has 75,000 miles. Purchased unknowingly with improper wheels which restricted proper front brake work. After replacing wheels and having complete brake work done the vehicle still seems to have problems. Have replaced water pump, master cylinder, as well as alternator tensioner in an effort to stop persistent noise no one seems to be able to diagnose. Hate the way it sounds at 35 mph and above and hate sudden braking. Do not enjoy driving it.
