I purchased my 95 T-Bird new and have put almost 300,000 miles on it. It is the 4.6 V8. I just put a Ford rebuilt engine and tranny in it as it was burning too much oil after all those miles. It still ran great, however. I have not had any unusual problems with it other than normal maintenance. It still has the original rotors after 3 sets of pads on the front. Top speed is 105 mph as the governor shuts it off at that speed. It goes back on as soon as it gest under 100. I am now in the process of getting the body redone due to the clearcoat coming off. I have nothing but nice to say about this vehicle. I do agree with other reviews regarding the cup holder. Not good planning on Ford's part.

Love my Bird!

I love my bird, I bought it off my dad and he's had it since it was new. We scored the rare factory Venetian Blue Pearl color so it changes from purple to blue in the sun light. People stop and stare at her she's so pretty! Very fast, she can get up to 100 mph without trying. This car likes to fly, speeding tickets may be an issue.

This car is COMPLETE JUNK. Do not buy one... Quality is awful, layout is very poorly planned as far as the engine bay goes. Engine vibrates, transmission is complete junk. Window trim is complete garbage. This car is a complete nightmare to drive and work on.

I stole this car at $850, charged the a/c and put in an upgardede soundsystem, it goes like a rocket..has a few small rust issue, but that is ohio.. The car runs like a scalded rabbit, tranny shift strong and tight. I think the last owner put a shift kit in it,, Cupholders are NOt very convenient..

Okay so my dad has owned a 87 v6 model, a 91 v6 cougar, and then obviously the 95 v8 thunderbird. He bought it for 1500 dollars with just over 100,000 miles on it and The car rolled over 150,000 miles the day i got my license and ever since that day i have loved this car with a passion. Sure its had to have a couple parts replaced but thats just general maintenance. Its literally the best of both worlds you get a powerful 4.6 which you wouldnt think is that fast but i beat an Audi A6 with no trouble at all, and i kept up with an 93 prelude si and the only reason i lost was because i lost traction. put glasspacks andCats are broken up so im putting on Magnaflows very soon. Great Car!

We've had our problems, but I can't let her go.

I am the proud owner of a 1995 Ford Thunderbird Lx with the 4.6L V8 engine. I love this car. Its big, comfortable, and has alot of power. It hasn't exactly been the most reliable car for me though. I bought it a year ago, and its been out of order for about 6 months now. Right off the bat, it started burning oil. I later found out that this is a common problem in the 94-95 model. The suspension is what caused me to park it. It shakes so bad, that I was afraid for my life, and so was my mechanic. However, I am about to drop a new engine into it and put in all new suspension because this car is worth it. I love the looks, and the power. The 96-97 model is better though, they don't burn oil.

I have had it for about a month now and I LOVE IT! Everything I could have asked for and cheap as dirt! 136000 miles when I bought it 138,000 now. I have had to replace the serpentine belt and a battery connector. Very fast, very reliable and good looking. My T-Bird has all of the options. Moon roof, power everything, Auto head lights, auto climate control, Keyless entree pad, remote keyless entree fob. All for $1900! You just can't beat that! I just wish they made more aftermarket parts for it. Major upgrade from my previous 97 ranger. V8 is very quick on the highway and I get 20 mpg. Plenty of room for me, seeing as i'm 6 foot 5 that's saying something! Great car, great price, SWEET!

I love to drive and this car is like what a mustang should be. My baby gets 20-21 city and 29-34 highway depending on how fast I drive. I've did two mods ram/cold air intake and 2 3" pipes which can be straight piped at the mufflers. I race now and then but manly is my everyday driver. No major problems just a water pump and a MAF. 13.2 @ 94mph in 1/4. Not bad for a Ford that has 155000 miles. Awesome car!!!!!!

Hello I'm 19 years old and have owned my bird for about a year,I have always enjoyed working on cars especially this one. As far as driving goes mine is a V6 so no"show stopper"but for what it is power is not to bad. the independent rear susp.makes for a very good ride, smooth and glidey feeling. The fact it is rwd might deter some buyers, but i live in Michigan and have no problem getting around, the IRS,and ABS systems make this a very easy car to drive. I would recommend this car to anyone. Period give this car a chance bring the super coupe back!!!! Henry ford

I am very pleased with the T-Bird. Great exterior design. Great speed and very comfy ride. Solid built and very powerful.Ford should have stayed with the design. For those who don`t want a Mustang but rather a more sporty look, this is the car. There are a lot of aftermarket body parts that you can get to give it a personal touch. Saw a NASCAR version at a car show and it blew everybody away.

At first glance, this car seemed like a complete junk but after the dealer handed me the keys and said "take it for a spin", I immediately fell in love. For such a small V8 it sure puts out the power, and gas mileage (if you keep your foot out of it) the interior design wraps around the driver and is very comfortable. I would suggest i flowmaster exhaust system...it made mine alot more fun and i get alot of compliments on the deep tone sound. im going on 137,000 miles and not had a single problem except for routine maintenance.

I bought the car for $200. I've put another $300 in it, mostly cosmetic. I love this car. runs strong after 250000 miles, and still looks great. Plenty of power, faster than a 2009 challenger, will probably go anther 50,000 with regular oil changes. I'm like tony stewart in the commercial where he stares at the car all day.

I bought my V8 t-bird when it had about 85k miles. The O2 oxygen sensors were missing and the dealer explained they needed to be replaced and they did free of charge. I was only 17 years old and drove it - ook it without a complaint! It was very fast on the highway! Very comfortable and roomy backseat. I wish Ford would continue to make the affordable t-bird we once loved soo much!

I bought my t-bird about a year ago and love it i have the 3.6 l v-6 and it has plenty of power and good gas mileage. I have had no major problems out of it. The only think that i found was that the oil filter is on the front side of the motor and part of the wiring harness and cross member can make it difficult to change but beside this I would recommend this car to any one.

I purchased a 1995 Ford Thunderbird LX and its the best money I have ever spent on a car. I'm the third owner, and the other two owners live across the street. it has very good pick up, the transmission shifts smooth, the interior is very comfortable, the seats feel like they form around you. It feels like your sitting in a cockpit of an airplane.

I liked the look of the 95. The 4.6 V8 had power like a police car. It would go a 110 miles per hour. It could go faster but I was afraid I would blow it up. I bent the antenna driving too fast. It didn't do very well in snow and ice. It got better gas mileage than the V6 I have now.

My parents bought me this car about 4 years ago. I don't get good gas mileage because I have a heavy foot. The power is great for it being stock. Ive had to change the alternator once, no problems with the engine, changed the o2 sensors, had to taken the stabilizer bars off and replaced. A/C still works. I added a magnaflow exhaust (sounds great), put a sound system in. I'm never going to sell this car, I love it. Now I'm working on a turbo. The handling is great, a whole lot better than others cars I've driven.

I've had my Thunderbird for four years now. I think I spent $1400 for it. In these four short years, I have put almost $4000 dollars into it. I'll done had problems from torch converter cracking to the doors to heavy for the hinges, making the doors start to fall down to all kind of other problems and trying to firgure what's making my knock when I do regular service on my car (thinking pushrods or valves). I mean, don't get me wrong, T-birds are good, fun cars. If it wasn't, I woundn't put so much into it. On the bright side, they're very good on gas. They have alot of power, very fast. They handle curves good amongst other things. Overall I love the 95t-bird, it just cost alot to keep up.

This is the first Thunderbird I have owned and enjoy the car thoroughly. The car was purchased here in Southern California from an elderly lady who barely drove it. It had 25000 miles on it and is in great shape. The only major expenses I have had was a complete fuel injector clean out and new tires. The car has never failed amaze me with the performance and good mileage

Excellent machine and very reliable, usual Ford which will let you know symptomatically that something is wrong before you get stuck, pretty much maintenance free (except for oil changes) until about 150,000 miles, would recommend air intake, O2 sensors, upper control arms and spring (expected in the northeast for the mileage, roads are terrible), traction control feature a must for this vehicle for performance and northeast climate. Will need reliable mechanic for some things as mentioned above, not for old school mechanics; there isn't a distributor so you have coil packs. I recommend the 4.6 v-8 with all the toys, do it right, only complaint is the location of the cup holders in the center console.

I had bought it after a 30,000 mile lease expired, and it was in like new condition. For 100,000 miles of driving, I only had about $500 of repair, a blown fan motor and a small part that I don't remember The V8 engine performance was superior, the handling was very good but not exceptional. I'm selling it to a colleague today for $1, but he's getting much, much more than the asking price.

I bought this car for $3,000 and It was worth every penny! The car was in perfect working order and the leather interior was very comfortable but sporty looking at the same time. The interior set-up was very easy to get used to and the gauges were easy to read and well illuminated. The big surprize comes when you put the petal to the floor! The powerful V-8 leaves nothing more to want for the money and provides easy cruising or powerful takeoffs. An all-around sporty but comfy car.

No major repairs, but starting to have a few minor problems at 122K. Always buy T or better speed rated tires for better handling. Car is pretty easy to work on.

I've owned an '84, '90, and this '95 bird. I liked them all, but I love this one. A wonderful combination of power (4.6 L V8) and luxury combined with reliability and just flat out fun to drive. Have wood trim on dash, nice with tan leather. Have gold trim with chrome wheels, pacific dark green, and it's a beauty even being 10 years old. Still get comments on it.This car drives like it's brand new, and still love to drive it. Have 90,000 miles on it and it has been very reliable. I use Mobile 1 oil, I want to keep this car for a long time. I don't think I could buy a car new today for under $40,000 that would compare.

I am the second owner. This is the most reliable car I have ever owned. Well built, good balance (easy on tires) and does not burn a drop of oil nor evaporate any engine coolant. A/C still blows cold air at 82,000 miles. The style still looks good too. GM owners that say they would never own a Ford have told me; this T-Bird model would be one they wouldn't mind owning.

though this is a great looking car with power, there was a major design flaw in the engine coolant system which eventually caused a blown motor.Ford should have come out with a recall on this model. The first time I had any indication this could be a problem it was too late, the engine had already been destroyed. Apparently there is only 1 small gasket that seperates the coolant from the oil pan. This seal broke, the coolant poured into the oil pan, the car overheated and the head cracked all in the matter of 3 minutes of highway driving.

Wife's pick in 1995. I adopted it from her in '98 because she kept running into things (poor front and rear visibility for shorter people). I was hesitant to drive it because I'm not into the NASCAR thing. But it turns out it is a great car. I was surprised that the vehicle was so quiet - I can't hear the engine on the highway. A few squeaks after 9 years but nothing major. Interior is stylish. It averages 24 MPG. Transmission is smooth. Some maintenance required but nothing too outrageous yet - water pump, suspension bushings, power antenna, minor oil leak. Has 5-star front crash rating! Traction assist helps in bad weather.

I bought this car used in '97, it had only 28,000 miles on it. I love this car handles great and the v8 engine is smooth and quiet. I would buy this vehicle again if i could. Always my choice for long trips. Few mechanical issues but still going strong.

Best ever

Have had it since new. Very powerful and handels very well. Not very good in snow, even with traction control. So I don't use it in winter. That's the only flaw to the car.

Very good used car purchase

I purchased a used T-Bird with V-8. Excellent reliability, and comfort features (if you ignore the stupid location of the cup holder). No problems after 114k miles. Not a winter weather car however, traction in snow is shaky at best.

The T-Bird is great!

I've owned this car since 1995. I have found it to be an excellent car. I now have over 160,000 miles on it and it is still going strong. I've never had any trouble with it. I would love to have another one when this one is gone.

after six years with this car i am still amazed at how fun it is to drive.it has power to spare and my average mpg is around 20 or so.i would not hesitate to recommend this car to anyone, especially people who like to drive. i bought a new suv, and was going to use my bird as a trade in but neither my wife or i could stand to part with it. yes, the thunderbird is that good of an automobile.with its combination of power, reliability, standard ammenities, and classy looks, i dont think i'll ever get rid of it!

I bought this car in 1997 with 39000 miles on it. It now has over 140000 and has never failed once. The only parts to ever be repalced were the battery and MAF sensor and Alternator. I drove between Atlanta and Ft. Worth at 28 mpg or better documented.

Too many easily prevented problems from manufactuer. Head gaskets are a huge problem along with skrawny motor mounts that couldn't even support torque for a 4 cylinder. Honestly the problems are a pitty.

I've had this car for three and a half years, and it has earned it's place in my heart. This is the essence of big and powerful for an affordable price. It took me two years to figure out a weird transmission slip-like condition, but I haven't had any major repair issues to deal with at all. Four times a year, we take a road trip to Vegas, and I can't imagine being more comfortable. A true winner with plenty of get-up-and-go.

This has been the most amazing car we have ever owned! Sad to say, the head just blew and we decided to replace it.....at 316,000+ miles. Six months ago, we had to replace the tranny...*sigh*. Aside from that, the only other problem was that the evil yellow light of death came on at about 150,000 miles, and never went off. We just bought a '97 Cougar with 47,000 miles, and the inside is similar but I doubt it will replace the T-bird in our hearts *sniffle.* WHY did Ford discontinue this car???

My Super Coupe cruises at speeds well over the dollar mark silently and with seemingly no effort. It feels like it's concealing a huge V8 under the hood when the clutch engages; but then that's the beauty of its supercharged and intercooled 3.8L V6. Handling is remarkably neutral and predictable but the ride is a little stiff and bumpy over rough roads. The power-lumber and power-side-bolster seats and are very comfortable, even on long drives. It’s difficult to think of many complaints. There are a few minor squeaks and rattles and the interior materials don't win any raves. But I still look forward to getting behind the wheel every time.

I purchased this car new with the V8 and all the options. The car has performed well over the last seven (7) years. The 4.6 liter has plenty of power and so far no problems. This is a great American coupe that Ford should be proud of.

I received this car for little money and it needed some preventive maintaince done to it which was long over due and neglected by previous owner. I am still having trouble with the transmission but will fix it once and for all real soon with the help and advice of a good qualified mechanic.

o gosh, ford. there ya go, that explains it. Where do i start? i have had SSOO many problems with this car. The TRANNY, electrical problems, lights burn out constantly, stalling of engine, overheating of engine, tranny fell out, trucks space limited, poor sound system, 1 wheel came off driving at 55 mph, not good pick up, is that enough to turn you away from this car? trust me dont buy one. It has spent weeks in the shop. its a peice of crap. dont put your money down the drain!

At just under 79000 miles I lost the head gasket and had scoring on the crank and cam. With the Best Care Warranty, I now have a new engine and should get another 200,000 miles out of this car. This car is an ideal drive for any distance. My monthly trips across the Plains (750miles) is a pleasure except that I have no place for my coffee cup. The 3.8L engine runs solid and steady with a surprising great gas milage of better than 34 mpg.

This is my favorite car of any that I've owned. I bought this bird new in 94 and have been very happy with it. With the exception of a dealer that could not figure out a brake issue when it was new I've had no problems with it at all. This car is a highway cruiser and seems to be happy around 85mph. I can't part with it. I only drive it just to keep it running now, 3000 miles annually.

I love my T-Bird

I feel the T-Bird is one of the best cars manufactured. I suppose that's why it has been around for nearly half a century. The only real complaint I have, again, is the positioning of the cup holders. Luckily that has been enhanced on the newer models. At 110,000 miles my car has never left me stranded and has only been in the shop for one minor problem (shy of maintanence items). I've driven this car HARD since it was new. As long as you change the oil it will last you. THE BEST NEVER REST.

Pretty pearl paint has numerous imperfections, front cap was so shoddily mounted that factory bra wouldn't fit! Next problem was the transmission, it came up for recall. Since that time, it has had 3 complete rebuilds. Ford caught 2 of them under warranty and I paid for the last one. The V8 is a decent motor, too bad it was backed up by such a dog transmission. However, when everything is working right, it is a blast to drive. Still love the styling, almost a direct knockoff of a BMW 6 series coupe! Leather seats are supportive, have held up well, Moonroof has never leaked. The car is a Jeckyl/Hyde. My better idea? NO MORE FORDS!!!

I bought my 95 t-bird used for $3000. It had 113k on it then. I travel 42 miles one way to work, 84 total per day. I have a family of 5. It has been dependable and really has the kick when you need it. It handles like a dream. I have put some hard miles on it, and she still does not hesitate. I have more than got my money's worth out of this car, and will feel like a part of the family is gone when I trade her in. This car was the best investment I had ever made. The only flaw that I found was the seat, if ever moved, was very hard to get back right and would make my back ache a little, but nothing that could not be overlooked by the fun of the drive.

I love my T-bird

I bought this car used in late 2000, it had 84k on it then and now has 112k. The 4.6L is a great motor, good power and milage concidering it's a V8. I like the handling, my has the traction control and it is my daily driver, even in the Winter. We do get snow in Wisconsin, I added 4 Dunlop snows and I can go where ever I want. Only thing it needs is cup holders. I wish Ford was still making them.

The car has been pretty much flawless.I had to replace the torque converter at 50,000, it felt like you driving over a cattle guard when it shifted. The car now has 105,000 miles on it and still starts perfectly, and uses no oil and has no oil leaks.

I bought this car brand new after a LOT of research on different cars. I have put 143,000 HARD miles on it, and it hasn't had a single major problem. I was thinking about getting a new car, but I just couldn't let the tbird go. When I do get another car, I'll keep the tbird for a daily driver (to work etc.). I don't know what others have to say, but I am very happy with this car! On a daily basis I punish it, and it keeps coming back for more!!
