This is a good classic Cadillac. You can comfortably fit 5 adults and have enough trunk space to accommodate them with a short road trip too. It's an original classic design; not like any of the previous designs, nor any designs to come in future years. It has that Italian look and feel to it, not boxy like in the past. The interior is luxury and spacey, great leg room in front and rear (I'm 6'2"). If you bought this car new, took care of it, you'd still be driving a new car today - it doesn't seem to age; the original paint and coatings are holding up and looking very new. Enough torque to conquer any hill (even Tioga pass in Yosemite), enough power to do your passing with ease. Trucks will be no problem on the road; your the "King of the Road." It looks and feels like a new car, though it is over 20 years old. The engine and interior are showing some wear, as expected of any car approaching 100,000 miles and over 20 years of use. However, the paint job looks brand new, and the transmission still shifts smoothly, and there is no lack in power. Take care of it, fix it up if you buy it used, and drive it. Stop your complaining; this is a classic luxury car. The design would be seen for only 3 years, 1994 and 1996. This would be the last year for the base model with the 4.9l and 285 ft/lbs of torque. Some people like torque, others want horsepower - in 1997 Cadillac once again went boxy. In 2000 the whole car was redesigned. Today the Cadi is not a luxury car, nor a sports car, it's confused about being a Mercedes or BMW. My '95 is just a Cadillac. The best use for this car is long road trips.

If my Cadi was a ladi, I'd be sure to marry her..

It's big, but she wears her size well, and is suprizingly very easy to drive. Although a large and heavy car, the Cadi has plenty get up to get through traffic. You will never feel like you're driving a tank, bus, or bohemout like some joke. No, you will know classy first hand and her name is Deville. And believe me, you don't have to be a dinosaur to enjoy the feeling she gives; my first car was a Coupe Deville and my current is a sedan. ...I'm just 37 and this makes 4 so far.

Not worth it!

This '95 was a pretty lady that turned on me! This car is horrible. I bought car with 95,000 miles, drove it for about 2,000 miles, and ever since it's spent more time in the shop than on the road. The reliability is on par with a 1970's snowmobile. I spent $600 replacing transmission solenoids, $300 on a starter, fixed a broken engine mount, a rusted metal coolant line, and now my mechanic can't get the Service Ride Control message to go away, leaving me stuck with a car that's worth $1,000 or putting another $1,000 into modifying the air suspension. It's just a bad choice that's led to a terrible experience. I wouldn't do it again!

I am so spoiled by the ride of this car. So smooth, so easy to handle. So quiet a whisper can be heard. Very stylish and somewhat timeless exterior. I felt so safe inside that car. In 10 years it never let me down. Only replaced ac fan. Had minor problem with abs system which fixed itself if I turned car off and restarted it, that's all. In ten years! Hardly used oil reasonable gas mileage. I sold it to buy new cts. Big mistake, no problems with cts but really noisy ride and uncomfortable. Kept thinking I'd get used to it but alas, . I miss my old caddie every day which is why I'm here on this site checking reviews on the 2002 dts.

I love mine very few problems with it. I paid 5000 dollars for it used with only 28k miles on it and it was the best money I could spend it gets me to and from my work and two jobs I also use it for leisure travel on occasion and with all the time I spend in a car it starts to hurt my back in this car I rarely fell discomfort even after many hours. the only real down fall is when gas went up to 5 dollars a gallon and it cost me $120 a tank to fill it up, I can't say enough about how much I love mine

Been a Caddy guy for 10 years. Car runs great, but in two years I changed the alternator twice, the water pump twice and now its the a/c compressor and the heater core needs to be replaced. Car has been nickel and diming me, but when it is running, it runs great.

I bought this car almost 10 years ago used and I am very happy with the service life of this model car. This car is solid throughout. It looked great back then and it still does today. The finish on the car is still lustrous. The interior is also holding up. No crumbling of any kind like the Cadillacs of the past just normal wear and tear.

Bought my DeVille, my 5th Cadillac, with a few miles on it. I am always on the road for work. Now it has a whopping 293,000 miles on it and is still going strong. I replaced the AC compressor and needed a new transmission at 134,000 miles (which was my own fault). I have not had any other problems. Two different dealers told me people were reluctant to trade in their '95. I love this car. I have no plans to sell it.

My 1995 Cadillac DeVille is the most reliable car that I have ever owned. I have never had any problems with mine and it gets good gas milage for a big V8. This is a very comfortable car with great styling.

I purchased this car as it was coming off a lease program and paid $20,000 for it. It is the best car that I ever had; I wish I had gotten the extended warranty though. The a/c went two years ago and it took four compressors to get one to work; that and a valve, one set of brakes and one set of tires in ten years, plus regular oil changes. Now I drive it only during the summer in CT. It still gets 20-22 mpg, is quiet, comfortable, easy to handle, and powerful. It costs $50+ to fill it up but it's worth it. You do get what you pay for. iot has a superb sound, great dashboard and message center. I love this car, hate will to part with it. Everything else out there is junk in comparison.

I bought my Cadillac DeVille when it was a year and a half old. I replaced the fuel pump for $700 and the blower motor for $500. I think it was better when the fuel pump was on the side of the motor and rode on the cam (it was bad enginnering to install it on top of the fuel tank). I took this car to New York twice and averaged 26 miles per gallon. I have never touched the air condition system, it always blows ice cold, and that is saying something for here in Florida because I use it almost everyday.

This car was my 2nd Cadillac. Very few problems. Motor ran strong from 58k to 133k, when I sold it. My only nagging problem were the front shocks. Replacement was very expensive, so I had my mechanic insert a bypass to the computer in the trunk and install conventional Monroe shocks. Car was great in the snow. I was sorry I sold it.

I bought this car in 1997 with 24,000 miles as a lease trade in. It is by far, the best car I have ever owned. On the highwayI average 26-28 mpg and around town about 20 mpg. The Northstar engine can't be beat. The interior luxury and comfortable drive makes long distance driving a pleasure. In 8 years of ownweship, the car has been in for minor repairs only twice. We do , however, change the oil every 3000 miles and do the required maintenance that Cadillac suggests. I only hope my next car will give us the same comfort, service, fuel economy and joy of driving that this car has given us.

We bought our '95 in 1999 with approx 50K miles on it. (We were in a potentionlly dangerous wreck in an earlier model and all four of us had not a scratch. It sold me on keeping a Cadillac as our family car.) I've driven it for four years and it now has 150K. Aside from normal wear and tear, it was reliable. We are upgrading to an SUV as we are expecting another child, but would gladly purchase another Cadillac in years to come. Even with high milage, the resale value is good. We paid cash originally, so we got four years and 100K miles in a luxury car for just about $10,000.

I have had two '95's and my father in law has had 2. We both had each one to a minimum 170,000 miles. We both are in sales and for my money there isn't a better car. I am looking into a '98 now. But I will run this one until I drop the transmission. That is the one major repair that you will have with the car, sometime between 160,000 and 200,000. On all of ours except the one I have now @ 170,000.

Luxury, style, performance, and reliable all in one. The power sun/moon roof is delightful. The eleven speaker audio system is unbeatable. All the features one could ever want with 8-10 way adjustable seating and so much leg room. Leather interior is so confortable on long trips. What a great road car. It will be hard to trade it in someday.

Bought it with 78k miles, in nice shape. Unfortunaltely had to have air suspension (struts) and starter engine replaced. Thereafter - fun to ride. One of the few real American Cars left, although w/ front-wheel drive it's safe enough for Cleveland winters. Agreed - controls for A/C could be better, also the performance of the 4.9ltr 200hp engine, however heating and cooling is fast and this is a car for cruising anyway. Roomy, safe and comfy. Towncars do not have the flat trunk, nor the front wheel drive.

Bought my Cadillac from a Jaguar/BMW/Mercedes Dealer on a trade from a little old lady who bought a new Jaguar convertible. Of course, the dealership didn't want an American car so I got it for a steal. I've owned Fleetwoods, Sevilles, Lincoln Town Cars, Continentals and Mercedes coupes and this is the best all around vehicle that I've owned/driven. Maintenance is very low. Other than tires, a battery, brakes and a minor exhaust job, I have had no problems. Change the oil every 3K and you'll get about 22 mpg on the hiway, average about 20. Not bad for a high end luxury ride with a 4.9L engine.

I had a 1991 that stalled while I was driving it so I traded it in with 65,000 miles to buy the 1995 as no one could repair the hazzardous problem. The 1995 deville did the exact same thing at 73,000 miles and it stalled while your driving it at highway and local speeds. This is a hazzard that all cars should be recalled. Horrible cars that look great. Buy a Lincoln towncar, they go forever and are safer cars.

I dont even like to go fast its too expensive. and forget paking in compact.Paint job sucks the entire hood is full of dings from rocks.

Bought my Deville with less than 20K miles on it from a Jaguar dealership through a recent trade. I use it as a commuter car, driving mostly highway miles, and get approximately 23 miles per gallon with a 5.0 engine. Other than tires and oil changes and a recent brake job, I have had no other problems. It drives as if you are gliding on air and it's quiet and comfortable leather. I have had Caddy's in the past...Sevilles, Broughams, Fleetwoods but this one tops them all for reliability and comfort. I highly recommend this vehicle.
