My parents got this car in 1995 with 15k miles on it and the engine hasn't broken down since, with 80k more miles on it. its confortable, looks sporty, has alot of room, i've fit 6 passengers in it semi- comfortably, and its pretty reliable. always starts up easily. the only problems i have with this car is the air conditioning broke, the knobs wore out pretty bad, and the radio and clock screen doesn't work anymore. otherwise, the car is pretty good. it goes when you put the pedal down, you can take turns pretty hard, and its easy to drive

Bought new. Had electrical problems for a number of years and then they seemed to fade away. Great engine, 3.1, but a troubled trans. Replaced it at least twice. I like the lines on the car. It still doesn't look all that dated.

Rust from the fuel pump to the gas tank

My biggest headache with the car is the rust. I bought it at 101K miles. I've had to replace the gas tank, the fuel pump, the filler neck, and have it painted at the gas door area due to rusting. My mechanic was replacing the rear struts and rusted bolts and parts were falling off from rust. I've replaced the rotors twice in 1 year. When I first got the car Midas informed me GM/Pontiac don't stand behind their brakes. The driver window stop working the window switch is $100. The hardware on the doors for the windows fell apart. My daughter cut her leg getting out the car from the rusted metal on the side of car beneath the windows. I checked with GM for a recall on this car.

Been a very good car overall

Owned since new. Overall this car has been without any serious or major problems. It now has 200,000 miles and it has trany issues (x2). However, the engine still runs great. Great fuel mileage too. The interior is starting to show its age but even living up north the last ten years, the car has no rust. I am going to fix the trans and take my chances. Parts are everywhere for these cars. My only complaints, which seem to be wide spread, are that the cup holders are only good to put change in. The knobs for the air, etc., wear out easy and are 17 bucks+ apiece. And don't ever think you can change the battery out in a few minutes. Theft protection my butt, poor engineering.

Best car ever owned. 240,000 miles. Bought at 60,000 mi. 31 mpg hwy. 2 tuneups as owner. Only repairs- brakes and tires and oil changes as expected. 1 headlight. Too bad GM got rid of pontiac and saturns. They are indestructable. still tight like new. even fabric looks like new. Not afraid to jump in and go long distances anywhere. Only problem is a deer tried to get a ride. Took out passenger door. Still picking glass from car.

Rides comfortably, 3.1 engine mpg is 22 in city and 30 on the road. Reaching the battery is a hassle. Problem with power window motors and door linkage, otherwise it has been reliable. Engine tends to be noisy.

I bought this car in 2004 when my 95 sunfire had a cracked head so that i could use it until sunfire was fixed! The Vehicle had 186,000 miles on it all highway miles from a guy who drove from Michigan to Georgia and back alot! it needed Rear Struts when I bought it and then just the usual Oil changes and stuff since, I did replace the Fuel Pump in 2006! but nothing major! I now have 260,000+ miles on this Vehicle and it still runs and drives great I drive about 15 miles one way to work mostly City with a little highway miles and still Avg 24 MPG, as you can tell I decided to keep this car and never fixed the Sunfire, Handles wonderfully in all weather and is fun to drive! Stylish looks also!

I bought this in 2003 with about 50K miles, and have since added 40K. there has been NO major repairs, just a replaced battery, replaced front and rear brakes/rotors one time each and a new starter pack. The car runs great and handles ideally in inclement weather

This Grand Prix does great out on the open road. It drives great and gets abound 30 mpg on the highway. I enjoy driving it. The car has held up good as the previous owner abused and neglected it. I bought it with leaking intake gaskets and replaced them myself (A person gets very good at this if they own almost any GM car). At 130k it still runs strong.

I bought this car off the showroom floor and have had it for 11 years. It is still to this day, sleek, fast, and hugs the road. It handles great in snow, rain, and perfect for taking corners fast in optimal weather! I have contemplated buying a new car, but I have yet to find one that looks as sporty, classy, and built for comfort as my Grand Prix. I have had to work on the transmission, but all in all, this car has been very reliable.

Pontiac should go out of business along with the olds. These cars are junk! I bought this car with 30,000 miles in 1996 and nothing but problems since, replaced the brakes 4 times, the turn signal switch 2 times, smokes more than i do! Has a rattle noise from god knows where, and i rarely drive this peice of crap! mostly sits in the garage waiting for repairs! weak 6 banger, should have never purchased it! Never again buy american car.

My dad bought our '94 Grand Prix SE from a friend at work (him and his friend are mechanics) for $500. After putting in about $500 worth of parts, the car runs fantastic. He had to replace the turn signal (it wouldn't click into place, you would have to hold it down while turning left), the starter (expensive key included), all the hoses, belts, plugs, wires, and the brakes. After all the basic repairs were done, the 180k mile Grand Prix was running strong, and still is. The car's steering is great, ABS, just an overall nice car to drive. The great thing about Pontiac is the replacement parts are CHEAP. Cars break down, but with basic maintenance you can reduce that chance...

The 94 pontiac grand prix I own was purchased from a family member. They are sorry now that they sold the blue comet. This car rides and looks new. It is garaged and kept warm and dry just like my pets. My pontiac runs well and still gets over 20 miles to the gallon on regular gas. It has amazing power and get up and go and it has the standard 3.1 six! I have had occasion to use the total power of the car and it surprises everyone. The handling is close to the bone and steady through all types of weather and road conditions. The styling is still hot and people still look and wonder what new car this is. I was coming back from Atlantic City and played tag with another 94 it was great fun!

Drove the car for 9 yrs full of repairs. Battery in aweful position, with the alternator regularly goin out. Got to 140k miles and engine went out. Very poorly constructed. Dont suggest the 3.1L model, known for engine problems. Resale is aweful after I tried selling it. Needless to say she's now in a junkyard.

Bought this car new in '94 as my first car and still driving it. The GP is a good choice for someone who wants a Mustang kind of car but needs something more practical. Though the GP is not a "true" sports car, its sporty enough for most people who are willing to trade off tire burning rear wheel drive muscle car performance for a car that performs not as good as a Mustang or Camaro but still pretty fast, does well in snow and has a useable back seat and trunk. That said, build quality on these cars is TERRIBLE.

Now pushing 110K have had normal issues; plugs, brake shoes ,rear struts, battery and tires. Only items that were out of normal maintenance was the master cyc. failure and L/R caliper, which hung up and had to be replace. For an American made car it's been a good one. Mileage has been consistent 25-26 MPG. Just now starting to use quart every 1,500 miles (has had oil changed every 3-4K). Really don't want to get another car because I know I won't get one as good as this one has been but know I can't go on too much longer before starter, alternator,cv joints,a/c and expensive stuff starts going. Still maybe better than getting a new car and depreciation.

Bought my SE new in 94 and still running great with 102K on it. It has went through 3 batteries and 2 alternators, but that has been the only expense other than normal maintence. The gas mileage has dropped to 20mpg (city only), have had tune up, but mileage did not improve. I am keeping this car till the wheels fall off or it becomes unrealiable, so far that is not the case.

This car has treated me ok so far. I bought it about 6 months ago and put about 10,000 miles on it already. Now at 110,000 miles, i realize alot of its faults. It does have great handleing but the stiff suspension is very harsh. The 24 valve engine is quick, but not until at least 4,000 rpm. The 4 wheel disc brakes are always wearing out and squeaking. The cup holders are useless, and knobs and levers keep falling apart. The car also should come standard with a manual. Besides all this I love the looks and both the front and back seats are comfortable. The engine loves to race but needs a ton a maintnence.

My wife bought this GP new in '94. We've put 134,000 miles on it nad have had only a few problems. We've taken it to Pigeon Forge, Orlando and New York City. Smooth drive, good looks, more than adequate power and decent gas mileage. On the down side: Most replacements/repairs require removal of significant portions of the vehicle to access the specific part(s). The battery is a good example. Fortunately, it hasn't needed that many repairs!

The car has 162,000 miles. The only non- maintenance repair has been an alternator at 150,000 miles. The only complaint is that the car eats brakes, which probably has a lot to do with my personal driving habits. I have never been nice to this car I drive it hard and it still performs like the day I bought it. It will be a sad day when I part with this vehicle.

This car is better than i thought it would be. When i first started looking for a grand prix i was looking for the 3.4ltr. After I could only really find 3.1ltr I decided to drive one. To my surprise this car has an amazing kick. I was happy that this was the 94 so it had the larger 3.1. This car is comfortable as well as fast so i save on my insurance. I recommend this to someone looking for performance for cheap

Very comfortable car. Nice highway driving. Gas mileage is not the best, but not outragouse for a 6 cyl in a car of this weight. Had to replace the "low profile" headlamps serval times. They cost over $30 each! I want to know who retired early on that design! Terrible quality. Exhaust manifold had to be replace in the first six months!

I purchased this car two years ago this month with 83000 miles on it. The most major thing to happen was the transmission went out at 90k, costing almost two grand to fix. Other than that, only routine maintainence needed. A nice car; even though my paint job is scratched and faded, I still get comments on how nice it looks. Power is quite decent. All in all, considering the abuse I deal my car, it holds up exceptionally.

I bought this car used with 25K miles, and now have about 115K on it over the span of 8 yrs. I feel I can't complain - I've only had new batteries & alternator put in, and brakes. It still runs smooth and people who get to ride in it with me are usually surprised at the comfort. I intend to run the car until it won't run no more! I've had more luck with this car than with my previous ones (Olds Calais & Chrysler LeBaron).

I love this car. I have had it almost a year and never had any trobles. I have the GTP package. So the leather and the sunroof are a big bonus.
