I have had the car for 21years and had little trouble with it. I take good care of it, It gets waxed at least once a year. I bought it new for 20,100.00 It is a Honda accord 4 door xl, It is white and never repainted. Timing belt has been changed twice. I had the muffler replaced in 2001 by Midas and recently had the muffler replaced again in 2015, Was charged only for labor. It's a good running car and had little trouble with it all these years. I have 157000 miles on it and it still runs good. Had the air conditioner fluid, recharged a/c is great. My children and grandchildren have driven it from time to time. I wouldn't trade it , I am hoping and waiting to get to 25 years .

Where's the quality?

Almost six years ago I wrote a review here that was pretty positive about the Accord. Now, with years of ownership, I can state this isn't a car that can compare with Toyota. It is far inferior as my Accord has needed a head gasket repair, numerous suspension repairs, frequent alignments, electrical gremlins that have plagued it, and it still has issues every couple of months that are costly to fix. I keep thinking it will stop having problems but it just continues on...My four Celicas combined have not had the issues of my one Accord. I take great care of my cars and now question the quality of Honda. This car gets a failing grade. Update on 6/21/21016: Sold this heap to somebody who believed in Honda quality. Glad to be rid of it.

Bought my EX 2 door in Feb 2012, it had 38k on it, was garaged and babied at the dealership so it was like new...and 9 months later I still love the thing. Mileage, comfort and ride/handling along with reliability and durability were why I choose this particular year and model and so far, 10k miles or so, the car does not disappoint. I thought it would be too small and slow for a 6'+ 230 lb guy who prefers roomy musclecars but while it's almost too small for me...it's ok even on long trips and the acceleration is'nt too bad either. I put on a set of Continental Pro Contact Eco Plus which gave it a confident feel plus a new stereo head so...I'm happy as hell driving it. I'd buy it again

Makes a great first car.

I bought my '94 Accord EX 4 cyl auto in July 2007, with 91K miles on it, had it for 2.5 years and it was great. A few problems occured, like the A/C went out, I replaced the exhaust sytem, the battery and a couple tires. For a car of its age, I didn't think that was too bad. It ran wonderfully, never broke down and never stalled on me. Finally, though, in November of 2009, the heater core went out, causing a nasty mess of sticky smog to enter the car through the air vents, so I couldn't turn on the heat...during the winter, it was NOT fun. So, since the repair would have cost me over $1,000, I had to sell it. It was just too much. Overall, it was a great car and I highly reccommend it!

I love my honda, i have had it for 6 years, and it now has over 465k miles and only have had to do routine maintenance and minor things, never had a problem. Still runs and drives great has ice cold ac and still shifts and runs just like it did when i got it 6 years ago. I love taking it to the mountains and taking it camping and it has just always been a great family car. I will never trade it in no matter what... i will drive the car till it dies, then just install another motor once it does die, i always recommend Honda! I love my Honda!

This car right here was purchased by my cousin back in 95 it's jet black with the spoiler which makes it look that much cooler. this car now has 374,000 miles and, still running strong it still rides on the original suspension, axles, struts. and the only thing that has went wrong recently was the radiator and, blower motor and thermostat also went out but what can you complain about? over 300,00 miles and, Just now giving minor problems I have to say this was the best accord ever made if you can get one go for it because they are worth every dime!

I'm not sure what everyone else is raving about regarding how great and reliable this car is, because mine has been quite the opposite. I bought mine in 2007 with 98k miles on it from a friend who had just replaced the timing belt. Still, over the past 5 years, I have replaced more things on this car than I ever have on any of my other vehicles I've ever owned. I've owned 3 Hondas in the 90s, 2 Toyotas in the 90s, 2 Nissans 80s, a Volvo 90s, and a Pontiac 80s. This was the worst car out of all of them.

I bought a 1994 Accord LX coupe in November 2005. At the time, it had 177,000 miles on it - just getting broken in for a Honda. Had no hesitation about buying it. I kept it for 4 years, until I moved to Hawaii. In the 4 years that I had it, I had little problems. I burned the clutch up (I was new to 5 spds). I got some new brakes. I did have to replace the engine at about 220K (it was about $1000). That was about it. I sold it to my ex-boyfriend, who drove it for 2 more years until selling it. It was still running strong (and will do so for a while). Loved this car!!

Interior like new. Engine sounds and runs great. Good on tire mileage. I look forward to driving it till it quits.

Great car, purchased 12 years ago, never left me stranded at 360,000 miles. Very comfortable, very reliable, white paint still looks great, interior looks great. Very durable interior materials that really don't show any signs of wear at all, except maybe the floor mats. 5-speed is a must, original clutch after all these miles, shifts perfect. Recently replaced some wear and tear parts, radiator, stereo, ac compressor, timing belt (x2). Other than that it has never broke down, just maintenance. Although odometer stopped working about 3 weeks ago. About to get a new accord coupe, i'll probably cry when i sell her though. Best relationship I've ever had

I got my 1994 Accord on auction, it had 132,000 miles on it at the time, now the engine gave out due to a busted heater hose, I ran it hot, it had 482,000 miles on it, this baby just kept on ticking. This was my second 94 Honda, my first had 413,000 miles, then I donated it. They had a 4 cyl, great pick-up, and about 35 mpg, and smooth to drive, Honda lover forever.

Great car when you run it on cruise. I recently bought one with 120k miles on it, very clean from inside, runs great, like the sunroof, cruise, spoiler on the back, nice handling etc. This car is not a racing car and takes time to pick up but once on the road and in D4 (auto)it runs smooth and no hiccups. I like the way the car handling, is there any room for improvement? yes! They could have made the seats a little more comfortable, lumbar support and power driver seat is a steal. It's not a luxury car but if you need a daily commuter or A to B this is the best deal.I got an avg of 27 mpg on highway with a speed of 70-80 mph and city around 24. Fabric- seats '94 held themselves really well.

Trying to get one more.

Bought in 1999 with 65K miles. The odometer stopped on 259K, Tried to fix it so I can drive up to 300K. Engine is still running good, but the rust killing it, Patched it, passed the inspection. The clutch is original and no sign to give up. Starter has been replace 3 times and Exhaust 5 times, radiator 2 times and timing belt 2 times. Many many times the calipers and one time the rotors. Now you figure out the durability and performance of this car. People are ready to by it for 500. Wanna ride a car for long, you need to know little work too otherwise it may not be worth of keeping over 15 years. Feel sorry not able to put 300K miles and take a pictures, because it stopped.

Sad to see it go.

Bought this car with 70k miles 10 years ago, now time to upgrade it. If you're looking for a good budget car - assuming it's been maintained well - then you should consider this car. No major problems during ownership, standard maintenance, did rebuild trans, but wow, still kicking after all this time, and I'm hard on it.

This is the best car I have ever owned! After 15 years and LOTS of miles, it has had no major repairs, never left me stranded, and always been fun to drive. I don't baby my car, either - it has spent almost all of its time without a garage, and I take it places that other people take their 4WDs. It holds my bikes, my kayaks, my dogs, and camping gear (maybe not all at the same time). It has been perfect for an active lifestyle. It is my 4th Honda and, even though they have all been good, this is the best of the bunch. I am going to have a party for it when we roll over 300,000 - and expect the clutch to last far beyond that...

Love it after all these years!!!!!!

I keep my Honda mostly in the garage, as I am a commuter to a large city on a train that is walking distance. But my Accord, now 15 years old with 83K miles, still looks new, and runs new as well. I love it!! So much so that my wife thinks I'm a little crazy. But I still think that it is a good looking car, and has just enough options that it is simple, not complicated like newer models today. I will grow old with this one, and let my wife have the new SUV every four years.

After 20 years of buying new American cars, I could no longer afford a car payment. I purchased a 1994 Accord EX 5-sp with 217k miles for $1800.00. I spent $41.00 on a used tail light and touch-up paint. The car passed CA emissions with flying colors, and I drive it over 100 miles every day. It drives like I took it off the showroom floor. My last car was a new Chrysler SUV that cost 41k, and was on its 3rd transmission at 107k miles. I wish I had discovered Hondas sooner.

Excellently built automobile.

I have had my 1994 Honda Accord for 4 years, and yesterday, I traded it in at 181k miles (still running perfectly) for a 2007 Honda Civic. This accord was the best car I ever owned. I purchased it used as a car to get me through college, and it did that and so much more. It's great on gas and even after almost 16 years (car was built in 1993), still had no rattles, little road noise, and handles like a dream. The only reason I traded is because I wanted a newer car and fell in love with the new Civics. The 1994 is still running perfectly on the factory engine, transmission, and A/C!!! The best most reliable cars out there are Hondas! My '94 is more comfortable than a lot of brand new cars!

Best car ever!

I bought this car from my brother. He bought it from my sister who discards all new cars she buys at 100,000 miles. We snatch them up because there is always life left in them. This car has 220,000 miles and running strong. It has had a radiator and water pump/timing belt changed as well as a wheel cylinder. The motor still purrs like a kitten. The transmission shows a little sign of wear but still runs string and shifts easy. The interior has held up well to my rather large family (I am 6'6" 350 lbs). I love this car.

I own a 94 Accord EX 4 door automatic. This was my first car I've ever owned, and it will be the last car I ever own because I'm not getting rid of this thing for any reason. The engine is the most reliable thing on the earth. It fires up with no problem. I've tried to kill the engine before, but I found it impossible (I can't say the same thing about the trans because I'm on my 3rd one). It is a very slick looking car. Mine is red with aftermarket headlights and an oem rear wing spoiler. The stock rims look nice and sporty (thou they could be bigger) the car get great gas mileage. And the best part: VTEC!! It's not a super fast car, but it's not a super slow one either.

I bought this car as a commuter car. It's essentially a nicely styled economy car. The 4 cylinder VTEC is decent in power (compared to other 4 cylinders from this era), but it's no racecar (as many people like to drive these like one). The interior isn't all that comfortable. The controls are well laid out, with a huge backseat as far as coupes go. The interior benefits from this generation's extra width; I've owned an 89 Accord LX-i in the past and this comes across as quite spacious in comparison. Large trunk, well laid out engine compartment. Good mileage (I get around 28 but I drive mostly highway), fairly reliable. Rusts like crazy so keep the body clean.

Excelent handling and gas mileage.

The '94 Accord was a wonderful car. I had it for 10 years. Unfortunately I crashed it last November. It was a great car. When I crashed it it had 230,000 miles on it and still ran fine, we didn’t start it up for 5 months, and when we did it didn’t have a problem. It got terrific gas mileage. Edmunds report 22/28, but that’s ridiculous. I got 28/34, and one time on the free way going out of state I got 42 MPG, hondas are truly amazing with gas mileage. It was my first honda but since then I/my family has bought 5. I don't understand why people buy anything else. They are the best non-luxury car out there.

What do you expect? It's a honda!

I bought my 1994 Accord EX in April 1997 with around 40K miles. Today it has 264K miles. It has the same engine. I have not spent a lot of money in repairs on my car. Just your usual stuff, brakes, tires, oil changes every 3K-5K miles, one timing belt and pump, speedometer sensor about 2 weeks ago, new radiator. It is a 14 yr old car that has been good to me. I will keep this car as long as it runs. I hate a car payment and I'd rather fix this car than have a ridiculous monthly car payment, higher insurance and property taxes. This is my 2nd Honda Accord and it is the only car I will ever buy for the rest of my life and I will be 49 on July 10.

Only had a few minor repairs as far as the engine is concerned, but nothing major. Almost about to hit 200,000 miles on the odometer, which is equal to about 75,000 miles on most domestic vehicles. This car has proven to better than the 1999 Accord I purchased but ended up selling. It's always great to see another older model Honda on the roads, great advertisement.

Purchased new in 1993 - the first off of the lot. As of March, 2008 it has 136,000 on it - almost all city with a once-a-year or so long highway trip. Mileage VG 27 city, 30+ highway. Have replaced radiator (2x), starter (2x), CV half shafts, clutch slave and master cylinders, misc. relays, etc. Mechanically, it's never really let me down. My complaint is the paint -- the dreaded Honda clear-coat paint failure hit. It looks like C*!%. Roof, trunk, hood, etc. Honda won't cover any of it ("...normal wear and tear..."). So I'm supposed to justify $500-to-$1,000 for new paint on a car that's now worth $2,500. Despite my satisfaction otherwise, I don't plan on buying another Honda.

I love this car. First off, my history with it is important. It got me through high school and college, as well as six years delivering pizzas during that time. I treated my car about as bad as one could within reason. I was late with my maintenance, drove only 3 miles to school every day in Minnesota weather, and delivered pizzas, which is about as stop/go as it gets. It now has 220,000 on it and has barely had anything wrong with it. Given how poorly I've treated it, it's a wonder it's made it this far. I don't think I could get rid of it unless it started giving me persistent problems or something really expensive occurred. It still runs great though, so who knows how long it'll be.

Don't hate! This is probably the best car ever! One of the last Accords made-in and imported from Japan. After all these years, it still taunts most other vehicles on the road. Agile and spry. The least wiggle room on a busy highway just makes this 'jackrabbit' more fun! During the last 13yrs. of ownership, this Honda had only one major repair and was my fault for not heeding factory recall of 'front seal.' Time lapsed and I paid! It was a good opportunity to replace the timing belt, all seals and other rubber parts. Texas climate probably would have worn 'em out soon enough. Last week, it needed a $240 ignition switch. Ooh! Still gets 25-30mpg and rockets to 110mph. Who needs a hybrid?

This is a decent car with very few problems. With 138k miles, I have put on a timing belt, water pump and new seals to prevent sudden oil loss (honda recall item). The window regulator was replaced, too. It gets 28 mpg overall. It has a smooth but sporty ride and is quite fast for an automatic. The paint is oxidized a bit and there are some rust spots. I can depend on this car. It is pretty easy to work on as well. You'll enjoy this car.

Bought this car to get around after postgraduate study abroad and looking for jobs. Great mileage (24 city/34 highway). Looks like new except for a few chips and dings. Have driven all over with no complaints or problems. Will definitely buy another Accord Coupe once the job situation improves. Lifetime Honda devotee!

So far I've owned this car for over 3 years, and still have no major problems. I guess it's because i owned a troublesome 99 Ford Contour before this... good riddance! The Accord was number one in the FWD sedan category back in the days and can still be if modified correctly. Even though the stock engine makes almost no power, i managed to swap it with a 200hp DOHC prelude engine with a 5 speed, added a better sport-tuned suspension, upgraded brakes, and still didn't manage to break my bank account. Compared to the flabby ride it once was (still a lot better than other sedans back in its days) it's now a quick, maneuverable sports sedan! There's tons of after-market support for this car!

I love this car! It's my second Accord, and it's better than the old '83, which had rust from little driving. Instead of abrupt changes, the Honda body style evolves, so the car doesn't look 12 years old, even parked next to another Accord. I've had absolutely no trouble it. I feel safe and secure in my wagon, and I can haul a washing machine or camp out in the back if I must. The worst thing about this car was my friends' reactions. I sold a sports car for it, and they were stunned I went suburban wagon. That said, they all call when they need to move something or take a long trip! I agree with other writers, it's time for Honda to return this gem to the American market!

I got my white, LX 5-speed brand new at the age of 16. Twelve years and 335,000 miles later it still runs like the brand new. It has never once let me down or left me stranded. Have had to replace only a few things, only because some parts just have to wear out. Interior shows no signs of wear, the body and paint look brand new (have repainted hood and front bumper). Recently purchased a 2001 S2000 for sunny days, but I kept the Accord as a daily driver. Buying a older, well maintained Accord is a smart purchase for anyone!

I have been driving it for a few years, it has over 250k on it but the odometer wasn't working when I purchased it. I have put a couple thousand miles on it and have had one problem that was fixed cheap because I know a mechanic. The timing jumped when I was racing it (which should be expected at about 300k). It doesn't burn oil, gets great fuel economy and runs smoother than even some new cars, but has been getting rusty in the usual places(which I will have fixed soon). It had a cold air intake when I bought it and I can definately say it made a big difference over stock compared to specifications I have read online. Only complaint is rust...but for a car with about 300k, its expected.

My Accord is still going strong after the two years that I've had it. It now has 136,000 miles, and still no major mechanical problems. One power window went out, trim piece on driver's door broke off, power antenna stopped working, and one speaker has died. As of lately, the display on the original radio goes off and on. Putting my finger in the cassette slot and pulling out usually solves the problem. So far it has been worth the $5,000 I paid for it. I plan on driving it at least another year or so until I get a pay raise, then I'll get a newer Honda.

The car runs great at 94,000 miles but the drivers window had to be repaired 6 times the hand brake got stuck in they up position, the trans. got stuck in the drive position, each time the alarm is activated the radio asks for a security code - it is only suppose to do that when the battery dies and that happened about 5 times, the seats that fold down in the rear bounce back up, and the sunroof gets stuck periodicaly and theres nothing the dealership can do! Beware of this piece of junk!!

I purchased this car yesterday (10/7/2005) with the idea that I would drive it for 18 months then turn it over to my son when he turns 16. It has 138k miles on it and the most significant option is anti-lock breaks. The primary body problem is a small rust spot behind the driver's side rear wheel that should be easy to fix. The car looks very nice for being 11 years old. There are no tears in the fabric and the dash is not cracked. The body looks good except for the rust spot. The paint has held up well and is still glossy and the plastic trim has not faded. Car starts and runs well but transmission is a little rough. Pick up is not like my 6 cycl but I did not expect it to be.

Bought car with 204k. All parts seemed to be original, except radiator and timing belt. Car now has 220k on it and has been treated to a new clutch slave master cylinder to keep the pollution low in the driveway. New muffler at 215k replaced honda factory equipment. I know of at least 10 I have seen from this year which have exceeded 200k. Heard of a guy with over a million on his '94. Overall I am very impressed with this car. Even with the little 4 cylinder engine, just as reliable as Ford Triton V-10

This year model Accord is much better built than 1998-2002 body styles. I hope the latest rendition of the Accord goes back to their excellent build quality and premium interior materials. I bought this car used with 60,000 miles and have put over 100,000 (now reads 168,000) miles on it. I have used and abused this poor baby and it still treats me right. It's starting to show some wear and tear with using oil regularly, but what could I expect? Not many flaws with this Japanese masterpiece, other than one faulty oil seal leak. I would probably buy a new one if they are still made this good. Trust me: believe the hype! This is a great vehicle.

I bought this car in August of last year with 135k. I've had some problems out of it (clutch repair, timing belt, oil gasket leak), but nothing unexpected of an 11 year old car. The car is absolutely the most fun car I've ever driven. I have the 4 cyl with a manual tranny, and it's got some serious pickup. I find myself out accelerating a lot of other cars at red lights. THis car is fantastic on long trips (seating is somewhat uncomfortable after a while) and runs so smoothly. The handling alone is worth the buy. I've had this car on the ice and snow, and it's performed beautifully!

He has had nothing but good to say about the car and so far neither do I. Never been in shop besides routine fluid and filter changes. The gas mileage has been rather good, averaging 31 mpg, but got 38 mpg (!!!!) on a 120 mile round trip. Love the handling. Everything feels so solid, like it will hold up for another 20 years. Design inside and out don't look like 11 year old design. Looks as modern as it did in 94. Great job, Honda!!

This was the first Honda my family owned. My dad needed something to last long miles for his 60 mile one-way commute to work (all highway). He couldn't believe how much he got out of it by just doing oil changes and basic maintenance (rotating tires, fluid levels, etc.). I inherited the car during college (6 hours away) at 150,000 miles. That car went back and forth from Ohio to Illinois, to FL for a spring break, to New England for a summer, and got me through grad school for 2 years in Chicago...and it's still going at 269K miles!! Now I have to part with it since I don't need it living in the city. Do the preventive maintenance and Honda will take care of you! Excellent vehicle.

Got it with 60K and now with 140K it still runs 100%. With a 5-sp manual and the EX's V-Tec system you can really get exciting performance from this car; however, if you're looking for a fun/fast performer don't get an automatic. I still get 30+ MPG on the highway at 80+ MPH. Other than replacing the master clutch cylender at 70K, only routine maintenance.

It was a great driving vehicle, handled curves very well. On highway (manual) we got 35 mph, about 30 mph city. Used cruise a lot too. Started out with this car in San Diego and drove all over CA & AZ (94-98). Then took it to Italy with us (98-02) where it went all over Italy & parts of Europe; so reliable we didn't have to worry about it breaking down in little towns and hills of Europe. Returned to States in VA where teenager promptly totaled it along with his dad's Mustang. My brother wanted to sell me 99 Toyota Camry so he could buy something else. Camry just not the driving car the Accord is. I would buy another Honda in a heartbeat!

EX bought new in 1993, just crossed 144K. Replaced radiator and distributor cap in the last 3 years. An ABS part went bad under warranty, and AC compressor went out just out of warranty, dealer replaced for labor only. Otherwise over 11 years this car has been incredibly reliable. It has never ever leaked a drop of oil and has always done 22-25 mpg in town and just under 30mpg on the highway. Fit and finish is typical Honda quality. It's a fun car to drive, the VTEC motor lively, strong and responsive. Only real issue is the AC can't keep up on hot days, and the shocks/bushings tend to get noisy in the cold now. No rust anywhere yet, wax twice/year.

I bought a 5 speed manual brand new. Had some hassles negotiating the price, but it was worth it. I commute about 100 miles a day, and I didn't baby it. About half of the commute was highway, which I regularly drove at 80+ mph, and the other half was stop & go. By the time I gave it to my brother in 2002, it had about 236K miles. The only real problem I had was the original tires had to be replaced around 20K miles. Over 8 years, I replaced the muffler, timing belt (2-3 times) and the drive axles, all considered normal wear and tear or better. I washed it maybe once a year. Now that my brother babys it and cleaned it up, it looks brand new. It still has the original paint!

Bought the car with 221k miles on it. Previous owner had done nothing but std maint (tires, brakes, exhaust, tune-up, t-belt). I have put 23k more on it with only brakes and an alignment. Still the original clutch, struts, water pump, etc. with 239k miles...almost unbelievable?! Everything still works on the car (AC, all electric, etc.), and it does not have any rattles (even after a front end accident by previous owner). Doesn't use a drop of oil between changes, and I don't drive this car very easy. By far the best car I have owned, with my Maxima being very close behind. My main complaint with the '94 Honda is the rust problems with the rear wheel wells. However, I just decided to put some $$$ into fixing the rust since the car has been pretty reliable overall, and actually felt as fun to drive than a new one! In the 7 years I have owned it, have had two oil leaks (one reimbursed later due to recall), and have had to replace both window motors, clutch slave cylinder, and A/C condenser. Removed heat shield to get rid of the silly noise. Currently, the right door actuator keeps making a noise, the hood doesn't shut well, and in really hot humid weather sometimes doesn't start the first time.

I had a 1989 model and purchased the 1994 model in 1998. We are so proud of our purchase and yet more please with the reliability that we had through the lifetime with this wonderful car. I had minor repair issues throughout the 6 years we owned and never once would complain. Technology always breaks but for some reason not with a Honda. Very please and will stay within the Honda family of vehicles for our next purchase.

When I bought my Honda, it was 2yrs old. The car has been excellent. Very few things have gone wrong. It is now over 10yrs old with over 130,000 miles and I know that it will start every morning. Only problems areas have been the a/c and the cv joints. otherwise, I take it in for a tuneup every year and thats it. still put around 15k miles on it a year, and ov80mph on hiway

I've had this Honda for 5 years and added over 80,000 miles to its initial 59,000. Other than routine maintenance, the car has never had a problem starting or running--and working 80 hrs/week at all times of day/night in snow-country, I needed reliability! Gives an average of 24 MPG in highway with stop/go traffic. Reasonable acceleration (I have a V4), still looks sporty in 2004! Very smooth. Because of it I will always be a Honda fan.

Absolutely incredible reliability. Zero unexpected repairs, only routine maintainance (oil chges, filters, bulbs timing belts, etc.) in over 365,000 miles. Starts better than my wife's new Accord, and drives like the day I bought it; cloth seats show no wear. 2 failures in all this time: cassette player eats tapes so it now holds my CD adapter, and the electric antenna mast needed to be replaced ($25.). I kept it away from local Honda garage which has a reputation for creating problems. This has also been my experience with my daughters '93 Accord which has not been as trouble free (bought used).

I bought this car as 2nd car to not have to drive truck all time. You just can't beat a Honda Accord. 10 years old and dash and instrument panel is modern, excellent quality, and looks good. excellent 5 speed shifting. engine runs like new. very good handling/ride compromise. cold a/c. great gas mileage. still looks hot even at 10!!! NO American make of same age could even come close to the attributes of the Accord!! Feel like the car has a lot of years left.

Owned the car for 10 years and bought new. Extremely reliable, have 195k miles and still going with original motor and transmission. Other than maintenance, replaced master cylinder, 1/2 shaft axel, radiator, and muffler. With all of these in the last 5,000 miles. 4 cylinder VTEC is adequate but V6 would solve underpower issue at times. A/C was first under new refrigerant...only area of car that is not properly designed.

I bought my accord new and have put over 200,000 miles on it since college. It has been extremely reliable with a very concerning exception. The lower ball joint in front end has failed 3 times causing the wheel to disengage and the car to skid off the road in a shower of sparks. It has happened on both the right and left front ends. Honda corp and the various mechanics involved couldn't pinpoint a cause. I have never abused the car and I am the only driver. Other than that, I haven't replaced anything other than tires, batteries, brakes, and pipes. It has it's original clutch!

Owning an Accord is a pleasure. It is reliable, comfortable, and inexpensive to own. You can pile on the miles, and it just gets worn in like a first baseman's mit. The styling does not get tiresome, though it won't win too many beauty contests. The inside is comfortable, roomy, and durable. If you are looking for a trustworthy car, look to the Accord.

I've had this car less than 2 years. I bought it used with only 84,000 miles on it. Well, I figured it would last me a while, but I'm trading it. I've had problems from the start, one after another. And some of the problems are ones that are common with all ones of this year, and other ones are just crazy. Today, I was driving on the highway, and AGAIN, the tachometer started jumping and around and the car would turn off and on, ON THE HIGHWAY. And this is only one of the several problems totalling so far over $1700, and I haven't gotten this problem fixed yet. What am I to do, probably be a little weary of any other Honda purchase in the future.

My dad bought me this car for highschool and I absolutely loved it. The lady we bought it from either didn't take very good care of it (maintence- oil, transmission fluid*) and/or mine was put together on a Friday and finished on a Monday. We had it for roughly a year and the transmission went out. So, take care of your accord. But other then that it was just minor things. We bought it with 94K and I've put 40k on it, and haven't had any problems. This year it is actually being passed on to my brother. He wasn't wanting a hand-me- down, but changed his mind when I modified it a bit with lights and an intake. But I definately recommend buying an Accord.

Purchased new and passed on to my daughter in 2000; still going strong. Smooth, easy shifting 5-spd trans makes it fun to drive. Great acceleration for a 4-cyl. Interior room and trunk space great, comfortable for 4 adults, acceptable for 5. But the A/C has never worked well, and has sucked up a lot of money.

I bought this car used from a very honest lady who even told me the A/C needed to be charged and the valve cover gasket needed replacement. I have driven this car for a couple of years, and outside: oil changes, valve adjustment and gasket (100 bucks), and charging the A/C (50 bucks) the car has been ultra reliable. The even more surprising thing is that the car is still fun to drive. It rides ultra smooth and is much faster than it feels. I am often at 80 mph on the freeway and don't even notice except for all of the cars I am passing up.

I purchased this car in Jan. 2002. I was hesitant about buying the eight year old car from a private seller. But to my surprise, the ride of the car is smooth (even though it is a four cylinder) and has given me no problems. What helped is that the prior owner routinely kept up the maintenance. The look of the Honda is a classic--sleek and smooth and still can compete with the modern cars of today. In addition, I really like the gas mileage.

Bought what was literally the first '94 EX 5-speed on the dealers lot. It felt weird to drive it around and not see another one on the road for what seemed to be months. Its been used primarily as a commuter, with a few long (2,000 mile) family and business trips thrown in. The Honda has never been less than sterling. Good power, great handling, fine ride, comfortable. Only significant problems have been a radiator failure (fixed under warranty) and a starter failure. Very few other issues, all of which were/are inconsequential. Overall, its been so good that I bought a second one for my teenage son (who is customizing it big time!).

After my last repair on our 97 Sable I decided to sell it and get a Honda. My wife has had great reliability on her 98 civic but I found the civic to small for me. I wanted a wagon and a Honda so I bought used a one owner EX wgn w/ 60K miles. My first fuel check showed 29.3 mpg in town ! It is fun to drive, easy to park and the cargo space with the seats down is very large (63 cu ft). I'm glad I bought this car, I enjoy the CD/tape system as well as the moon roof. This car is a "keeper" as I intend to keep it on the road as long as as I can.

I bought my Honda Accord in 99. I have no problem with the car design, interior, and performance etc., I love the car so much I invested almost $20,000 to make the car look better and faster. I can't wait to get the Honda Accord 2003 Coupe. Honda is an excellent automobile.

I've had two '94 Accords and both had similar and dissimilar problems. First the transmission is the worst I have ever felt in my life. Both Accords I bought had over 100k miles when I bought them. They both had a/c problems. The first one never got cold, the second was cold until the evaporator core busted ($700 problem if Honda does the work). The first one also had a mysterious voltage problem that dimmed the lights at night like the battery was dying. The second one won't start intermittently. The ride quality/handling was sloppy in both cars. Maintenace is expensive - for ex. timing belt and brake rotors are headaches compared to most cars.

My car is 98000 miles now. The engine rattles very loud, (very annoying)... Steering is very light (easy to loose control).. but overall, car is very reliable..

This car has a wonderful appearance and the VTEC engine provides more than ample acceleration on a 0-60. The cornering is precise and the interior features are well placed. I'm sure this Honda will go another 100k miles like the rest...

Bought my 94 DX 4dr. new, now have 74K mi. Reliability good -- would be excellent if it weren't for Y2K. That year, the door handle broke off on an icy day; the starter quit; and oil seal leak nearly killed it forever. Honda recalled for that problem in 2001, but it took American Honda about 8 months to reimburse me for my repair. Reasonably comfortable, good mileage. Too reliable, though. It's so deadly dull that I'd love to trade it in for something that doesn't scream "Daddy car!", but I can't justify a new car payment when this will probably last another 100K.

I have had this car for almost one year now and it has never given me any problems. It is very roomy and is great for loading and unloading my kids. The Honda Accord station Wagon is a good vehicle to use for travel it has a very high gas milage and is very spacious. I haven't had to do any work to my honda since I have had it except for normal car wear and tair. They are very dependable and trustworthy cars.

This car has the crudest, roughest automatic transmission I have ever experienced, rough enough to spill your morning coffee if you happen to be sipping while it is shifting. Reliability is atrocious. At 27,000 miles the temperature control knob stopped operating. At 35,000 miles the driver's door window fell into the door frame and would not roll up. There was an exhaust system rattle from underneath the passenger compartment the entire time I owned the car. At 65,000 miles the ABS computer module failed to the tune of $800. At 70,000 miles the odometer stoppped working. My 3rd and last Honda product.

It has good looks and interior. However, while the car is quick, it doesn't provide driving fun as I have to slow down upon corners due to its imprecise steering and mediocare suspension (not as good as my 93 Mazda 626ES). Reliablity? Good for the first 5 years but only ok at 57,500 miles (serviced regularly). Quite a few rattles, silly alarm often cut off my fuel suddenly in the middle of a highway (dangerous), right headlight burnt out twice per year, engine stalled a few times and master cylinder of my power brakes failed. But according to the many nice reviews here, maybe I am the only one who got a lemon.

I bought my Honda Accord straight off the dealer lot with 5 miles on it and now I have over 170,000. What a truly superb automobile. I have had only few problems with the car. It still has about 98% of it’s original parts. The leather seats and the interior have held up much better than the Toyota I have before it.

ALWAYS reliable and needs very little maintenance in all these years. The only critism was wear of the leather driver seat. It looks good both in and outside, even now.

I bought this car with 104,000 miles on it. It now has 120 and is running perfect. It is amazing to see a car with that kind of miles running so well. Honda makes a great vehicle, and offers the best customer service I have ever experienced. For being an 8 year-old car, I cannot think of another 94' vehicle out there that could even come close to matching this car's performance/reliability and most important looks/styling.

This car has been extremely reliable and very low cost to maintain. The air conditioning has been the only repair of any significance and that is to be expected on an 8-year old car. Always starts and runs smoothly. Handles like a sports car yet will carry a family. I looked into a Ford Taurus at the time and decided to buy the Honda. Boy, am I glad I did. The Taurus was like driving a boat!

This has been one of the most reliable cars I have ever owned. The car runs and sounds rock solid. The fit and finish are as they were the day I drove it off of the lot. All 98,000 miles I have put on it have been a real pleasure. I guess that goes to show you what a quality made car can be like if you follow through on all of the scheduled maintenances. Honda makes very fine vehicles!
