If the USB port on a 2016 Ford F-150 stops working after a recent battery disconnection, it might have been shorted due to a faulty cable connection if Apple CarPlay is also not working. In this case, Ford SYNC will cut off power to the port. To fix this issue, do a master reset of Ford's SYNC system by going through the main menu on the central display. After initiating a factory reset, turn the truck on and off to complete the calibration process. The SYNC fuse, which is a 15-amp plug labeled #2, can be found on the right side of the instrument panel. Sometimes, the ports may need replacement, requiring a new USB outlet installation. The most likely culprit could be loose or shorted electrical connections behind the radio head unit. It's advisable to have a professional inspect the radio's wiring harnesses and connections for any faults.
Does the USB port have lights?
It seems like there is probably a faulty receiver in the USB port, so you'll have to replace it with a new one.
