I understand that you may not be attempting the foot gesture to open the trunk of your Nissan X Trail using the key fob in your pocket. It's worth giving it a try to see if it works. If the trunk is not opening, it's likely due to a weak or dead battery in your keyless entry fob. To fix this, replace the battery with a 3-volt compatible one. If that doesn't work, then you should check the fuse that controls the trunk latch release, inspect the wiring, and examine the button mechanism for any issues. Sometimes, if the trunk has not been used for a while, rust can cause it to stick, in which case using WD-40 can help loosen it up.
My 2018 Nissan Xtrail's trunk won't open when I press the button inside, but it does open when I use the key. Now the key isn't working either. Can you assist me with this issue?
I'm dealing with the exact same issue - the button on the trunk and the dashboard button won't work, but the key's auto button still functions. Any advice on how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.
Hello, there is a power switch located inside next to the steering wheel that can be used to turn the device on or off.
The button located near the driver's knee in the car was accidentally turned off on my end.
Hello, there is a power door on/off switch located inside near the steering wheel.
The 2019 Nissan X trail's trunk button becomes unresponsive because the key fob battery dies.
I accidentally switched off the power door control with my knee while exiting the car, but turning it back on resolved the problem for me.
Thanks, guys! I'm about to make an appointment with the auto electrician to get the button fixed. What a silly location for it.
Hello, there is a power door on/off switch located inside next to the steering wheel.
If the Xtrail's starter battery is running low, it seems that non-essential features like the electronic trunk opener are deactivated to conserve power. Taking the car for a long drive or charging the battery overnight will restore it to normal functioning.
Resolution for trunk problem. I own a 2018 X Trail and the trunk would only open by pressing the button on the trunk itself and manually lifting it up, same for closing. Despite trying multiple solutions without success, my mechanic was unable to resolve the issue. However, he managed to fix it by forcibly opening the trunk all the way and then closing it completely, which somehow reset the system. Following this, everything functioned flawlessly. Give this a try as it is a no-cost solution.
Could someone please assist me? The back door on my 2018 model only responds to the key for opening and closing. This problem arose out of nowhere, and I haven't been able to find any answers online.
My 2021 X Trail Ti has a malfunction with the tailgate button on the dashboard and the one on the tailgate itself. However, it does work with the key fob and the manual button on the outside of the boot door. Do you have any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
I accidentally hit the power door button with my knee.
