If your Kia Optima's touchscreen is not working, the issue could be due to various reasons. The way the screen is malfunctioning can help identify the underlying problem. If you see no display or a solid black or blue screen, it could indicate different issues. A black screen usually points to a problem with the head unit or its wiring, whereas a blue screen suggests software problems that require dealer assistance for reprogramming. If the screen is not responding to touch inputs, it may be a damaged digitizer located behind the display screen, possibly showing physical damage. In the case of the touchscreen being improperly calibrated, replacing the unit might be necessary since recalibration is not an option. While this is not a common issue for Kia, similar problems led to recalls for Toyota vehicles.
If the touchscreen in your Kia Optima isn't functioning, it could be due to a loose cable beneath the dashboard or necessitate a software reset.

The issue with KIA Optima vehicles from 2018 is a common one where simply replacing the touch screen film will not fix it. This issue is primarily related to the motherboard software, making it difficult to resolve as software updates require confirmation on the touch screen itself. I'm facing this issue and will update you if I am able to find a solution.
