If the GMC Terrain's backup camera isn't functioning, there are a few common reasons to consider. The most straightforward thing to troubleshoot is the camera itself. Head to the rear of the vehicle and inspect for any damage, such as a cracked lens or other visible physical issues, which can indicate the problem. If the camera appears intact, the next step is to check the fuse box located on the left side of the steering wheel panel. If the fuse related to the camera or heads-up display is blown, it will need to be replaced. In the event that neither the camera nor the fuse is the cause, there could be a problem with the wiring connecting the camera to the display. Identifying this issue may be challenging, involving tracing and inspecting numerous wires.
A few typical causes for the malfunction of the GMC Terrain rearview camera include a blown fuse, faulty switch or wiring, or a weak connection. Since cameras rely on electronics, a software error could also be responsible for a screen that is blank or only displays the backup guidelines without showing any image.
Camera work is good, but the guidelines are complete.
I have a functioning backup camera and I am unsure about where the view appears - is it on the front rearview mirror, radio display, or somewhere else?
Reach out to Mark’s 2019 car, which currently has 28,895 miles on it. The factory warranty has expired, but I have an extended warranty. Despite not driving the car much and relying on the backup like a machine, I am puzzled by the mileage discrepancy and the issue with the blue line on the light blue screen. I suspect there might be a recall on it. Please provide feedback and assistance. Thank you.
The screen is showing a blue background with the parking assistance lines displayed. Do you have any suggestions or thoughts on what to do next?
I'm facing the same issue with my GMC Terrain when my backup camera screen keeps flickering, especially in cold weather.
My screen is acting up like yours, David. Looks like I'll have to head to the dealership and pay up since it's no longer covered by warranty.
