The auto stop/start function in the Jeep Renegade is controlled by the car's electronic control module (ECM), which sends commands to the various parts of the vehicle. If the auto stop/start system isn't functioning correctly, the issue likely lies with the ECM itself or the wiring that activates this function. If other car features like the digital navigation system are working fine, then the problem is probably related to the wiring. Sometimes, the system may stop working due to a low battery. To resolve this, refer to the owner's manual to follow the wiring schematics. Check and secure the connections, and reinforce them if needed to restore the auto stop/start feature.
I've had my Jeep Renegade for a month now. I've taken it in four times to fix an issue with the start/stop function. The first time, they suggested driving it more to see if that helps, but it didn't work. The second time, they claimed to have replaced the battery, but that fix only lasted for four minutes. After that, they changed the battery again and dealt with a front-end collision app. The whole process took six hours.
The on and off function is controlled by a small computer connected via wires, not by the wires themselves.
The Jeep Renegade's auto stop system relies on its wiring to work properly. If the wires are faulty or if the battery is low, the system won't activate as intended.
