If you're wondering why your 2013 Ford Edge key fob has stopped working, there are a few possible reasons I can suggest. One common issue is a dead battery in the key fob, which is relatively easy to replace in just under 5 minutes. However, if changing the battery doesn't fix the problem, it may be due to the key fob becoming unpaired with the vehicle, which is a known issue with Ford models. In that case, it's recommended to take the key fob to the dealership to have it paired back with the vehicle.
The primary problems with the 2013 Ford Edge and its remote key are the battery dying and the key losing connection with the car.
If your key fob doesn't work with the buttons but functions when you use the key and the car still starts, here's what worked for me: First, ensure that the battery has at least 3 volts. If that doesn't fix the issue, try cleaning the battery contacts with a pencil eraser. Also, clean the front part of the battery inside the fob, and there are 4 small prongs below the battery that touch the circuit board. Use the eraser to clean both the prongs and the circuit board. I had 2 fobs, both stopped working except when near the console. After cleaning the contacts as described, both fobs started working again.
How much does it cost to connect Bluetooth to a 2013 Ford Edge?
I recently switched mine not too long ago, and as I stepped out of my vehicle to enter a shop, I pressed the lock button. It began clicking with my headlights flashing and the horn softly beeping repeatedly.
