In the 2012 Chevy Equinox, the coolant temperature sensor is located in the engine bay. To find it, open the hood of your vehicle and use the prop arm on the passenger side to keep it secure. Then, check near the back of the engine block, between the hoses going to the heater core. You'll spot the coolant temperature sensor there. If it's malfunctioning, you'll need to replace it, which could range from $23 to $58 for a new one.
The coolant temperature sensor for the 2012 Chevy Equinox can be found towards the rear of the engine, nestled between the heater core hoses.
