The 2005 Dodge Dakota's transfer case control is not a separate module. Instead, it runs off the front control module (FCM) which includes the necessary software to manage the electric shift transfer cases. For those interested, the FCM can be found in the front right corner of the engine compartment. It is connected to the power distribution center, creating the integrated power module (IPM). The IPM is directly linked to the battery for circuit protection and electrical power supply to all Dakota components, including the transfer case. So, if you locate the battery, you'll be close to finding the front control module in the same area.
In the 2005 Dodge Dakota, the transmission control module is situated inside the transmission towards the back of the casing beneath the end cover.
