In a 2005 Ford Freestyle, the throttle position sensor is situated on the throttle body. This sensor gauges the gas pedal input to inform the throttle body on how much it should open based on the pedal input. If the throttle position sensor is malfunctioning, you may experience delays in throttle response and acceleration. Your engine might also run unevenly if it is not receiving sufficient fuel from the throttle body. Typically, when the throttle position sensor fails, a check engine light will illuminate on the dashboard to indicate that the ECU has lost connection with it and requires replacement.
