In a 2005 Ford 500, you can locate the MAP sensor on the intake near the throttle body. This sensor is inserted into the side of the intake and has wires connected to it. If you need to replace it, this is the component you should look for. The MAP sensor, which stands for mass air pressure, monitors the air pressure both within the engine and based on the elevation you are driving at. By measuring this pressure, it determines the correct amount of air and fuel required to keep the engine functioning smoothly. If you observe that your vehicle is running roughly, it could indicate an issue with the MAP sensor providing incorrect data to the engine control unit (ECU).
