The MAP sensor on your 2003 Honda CR-V is situated on the throttle body assembly towards the back of the intake manifold. It is a small plastic component secured by two bolts, with a wiring connection to the engine harness. Replacing it is simple and the part can go bad over time. A new one, like the Spectra Premium 3 Terminal MAP Sensor (Part #MP118) from AutoZone, will cost you between $50 and $70. Signs of a failing sensor include increased fuel consumption, reduced power, and possible emission test failure. You can easily swap out the sensor yourself without needing to pay for labor.
