The 2004 Honda Accord ECT sensor is located on the coolant pipe underneath the air intake pipe near the cylinder head. Its purpose is to measure the temperature of the engine coolant as it flows out of the engine and returns to the radiator for cooling. If this sensor malfunctions, it can trigger a check engine light on your dashboard because it loses connection with the ECU. You may also observe that your temperature gauge displays either no reading or maximum heat, depending on the issue. If you experience such problems, it is advisable to replace the sensor promptly to help you monitor your engine and prevent overheating.
