This sensor is responsible for monitoring the coolant's temperature to prevent the engine from overheating. It also alerts you when it's time to replace the coolant. To change the coolant, begin by locating the radiator under the hood in front of the engine compartment, with a plastic reservoir attached to it. This reservoir features a drain plug, fill plug, and dipstick. Check the coolant level and top up if needed. If flushing the system, open the drain plug and allow old coolant to flow out into a bucket. You can add water to the reservoir to aid the process. Once the water runs clear, close the drain plug, fill the reservoir to the appropriate level indicated on the dipstick, and replace the cap.
