The block heater for a Ford Explorer is located at the base of the engine block. The cable for connecting it can be found in a few different places, usually installed by the dealership. Look under the front left and right sides of the bumper, or near the fuse panel at the rear of the engine. It will have the standard 3-prong design, similar to a house outlet, so you'll need an extension cord to plug it in.
