To replace the Kia PSF 4 power steering fluid, you need to find the PSF-4 type. Start by locating the clear plastic container under the hood, near the window. Use a pump to remove all the fluid from the container. Once the fluid is low, turn the steering wheel all the way left and then all the way right to drain the fluid from the system. Empty the fluid from the container as well. When the container is empty, refill it up to the full line without overfilling. It may take some time for the steering wheel to adjust, so drive for about 20 minutes to ensure the job is done correctly.

Your Kia car is meant to utilize Dexron II ATF automatic transmission fluid in its power steering system.

The previous response is completely incorrect! The translucent plastic container next to the window is the reservoir for brake fluid. The power steering pump is typically situated towards the front and serves as a reservoir for fluid as well. Make sure to check the cap for the correct type of fluid. In case of emergencies, only use alternate fluids! For my 2005 KIA AMANTI, I use PSF-4 fluid. To replace or change the fluid, with the engine off, first pump or siphon out all the fluid from the pump. Then, refill the pump to the appropriate level. Start your car and slowly turn the steering wheel all the way to the left and right multiple times. Turn off the engine. Repeat the first step two to three times to flush out the old fluid. Always ensure the pump is full before turning the steering wheel to avoid introducing air into the system.
