In 2010, the Subaru Forester requires dexron iii power steering fluid. To replace the fluid, start by finding the clear plastic container under the hood near the window. Use a pump to remove all the fluid from the container. When the fluid level is low, turn the steering wheel all the way to one side and then the other to allow the fluid in the wheel to drain into the container; remove this fluid as well. Once the container is empty, refill it to the full line without overfilling. It may take a bit of driving for the steering wheel to loosen up, so test it by driving for around 20 minutes to ensure the procedure was successful.
