This engine requires synthetic 5W-30 motor oil, but in cold climates, it is recommended to use 10W-30 oil to prevent engine lock-up. The oil capacity is 4.2 US quarts with the filter and 4.6 US quarts without. The oil drain plug has a 16mm head size and should be removed with 32 ft-lbs of torque.
