In the 2010 AudiQ5, the cooling system is specifically designed to utilize a G12++ ethylene glycol-based coolant with a silicon stabilizer. You won't typically need to service the coolant system on the Q5 as it is sealed. However, if you observe rising temperatures, it's recommended to check the coolant level. If needed, add enough coolant to keep the level between the "MIN" and "Max" marks on the coolant overflow reservoir. Avoid overfilling above the "MAX" mark to prevent excess coolant from being released through the pressure relief valve when the engine heats up. This coolant not only safeguards the engine from overheating but also ensures it won't freeze in winter.
The 2010 Audi A5 needs to use Audi/VW coolant that is approved as either G12 or G13.
