It is recommended for the 2008 GMC Acadia to use a mixture of DEX-COOL antifreeze and 50% water in the coolant. This mixture should last for 5 years or 150,000 miles in most cases. If you find that you are losing coolant faster than that, there may be a leak in your system and you should have it inspected. To check your coolant levels, look at the clear coolant reservoir with a black cap. There should be markings for minimum and maximum levels. If the level is below the minimum line, add more coolant until it reaches the maximum level.
