For the 2007 Dodge Nitro, use 1 gallon of Prestone yellow 50/50 coolant/antifreeze. It is recommended to replace the engine coolant every 100,000 miles or every ten years. Over time, the coolant loses its ability to protect against corrosion and lubricate the system. Corrosion from old coolant can damage the radiator, leading to rust in the engine. Look out for signs such as coolant leaks, strange engine noises, the smell of antifreeze, or easy overheating as indicators that a radiator flush may be needed soon.

Zerex G-05 is ideal for using with nitro engines, but I prefer not to mix it with any color except yellow. The nitro engine requires HOAT antifreeze, and Zerex G-05 is the top choice for that. I make sure to flush and refill my antifreeze every three years.
