If you own a 2002 Chevy Tahoe, the type of coolant it uses is Dex-Cool antifreeze. To change the coolant, start by locating the radiator under the hood. The radiator is situated at the front of the engine compartment and has a clear or black plastic container attached to it, which is the coolant reservoir. The reservoir will have a drain plug and a fill plug, as well as a dipstick that allows you to measure the coolant level. If you're just topping off the coolant, check the level and add more as needed. For a complete coolant flush, open the drain plug and let the old fluid flow out into a bucket, adding water to help with the flushing process. Once the fluid runs clear, close the drain plug and refill the reservoir up to the recommended level indicated by the dipstick. Finally, reseal the reservoir with the cap.
