For the 2016 Toyota Corolla, you have the option of using either FMVSS No.116 DOT 3 or SAEJ1703 brake fluid. Although these are different grades of DOT 3 fluid and recommended, feel free to choose any DOT 3 brake fluid you prefer. Checking your brake fluid level is easy. Find the reservoir near the engine by the windshield. It has markers for the minimum and maximum levels – make sure to fill it up to the maximum line. If you notice the level dropping consistently, it could indicate a leak. Get your vehicle serviced promptly in such a case.
