Possible causes for the malfunction of the USB port in the Ford Edge include damage to the port, a faulty device, or problems with the infotainment system. To troubleshoot, try using a different device to determine if the issue is with the port itself. If none of the devices work, it could indicate a blown fuse. Users in online car communities have mentioned problems with the port being loose, leading to an unstable connection when a device is inserted. Make sure to check for any debris that could be obstructing a proper connection in the port.

To repair a malfunctioning USB port in a Ford Edge, you can follow these steps: Begin by removing the trim cover of the fuse box located inside the car near the driver side door and parking brake. Slide the unlock lever to the right and then pull off the cover by grabbing it from the top and pulling towards you. Next, remove the fuse box cover by squeezing the two latches on the sides and pulling it off. Find the appropriate fuse on the leftmost column, which is the third one from the top. Use the fuse-grabber tool inside the fuse cover to carefully remove the fuse. Insert the fuse back in place and then put back the fuse-grabber tool. Finally, close both covers securely.
