This sensor is a crucial component of the fuel management system in your vehicle, responsible for ensuring the right mixture of air and fuel reaches the engine. It provides a direct signal to the fuel injection system regarding the engine's power requirements. A faulty TPS can cause the throttle body to malfunction, either staying closed or failing to close properly, posing a serious problem. If the throttle remains shut, your engine will not receive air and will fail to start.
In a 2018 Hyundai Accent, a faulty throttle position sensor can lead to issues like diminished power during acceleration, rough idling, and difficulties shifting gears. These complications may arise from a defective throttle position sensor in various car models, resulting in similar symptoms.
