If the climate control system in a 2003 Chevy Silverado is malfunctioning, there are a few potential causes. The first possibility is that either the fan motor or the connecting wire has been damaged. Another potential issue could be a burnt-out heater core. In either case, the problem may be due to a blown fuse. To access the fuse box, locate a small seam or crack to the left of the steering wheel on the dashboard. Use a screwdriver or prybar to open this panel. Inside, you will find a series of fuses. The back of the panel should display a diagram indicating the purpose of each fuse. If not, you can refer to the vehicle's owner's manual for this information. Once you identify the faulty fuse, simply remove it. Check for a thin metal strip connecting the two raised sections of the fuse. If this strip is broken, the fuse is defective and needs to be replaced. If the strip is intact, the fuse is still functional and can be reinserted. Replacement fuses are relatively inexpensive, typically costing around 10 dollars.
