There are multiple reasons why an Audi Q5 backup camera might stop functioning. One common cause is a blown fuse. If the fuse for the backup camera shorts out and blows, it needs to be replaced before the camera will work again. Another possibility is that the camera is functioning but the display in the car is not working due to either a loose cable or needing a reset. To troubleshoot, you can try resetting the display to see if it restores the camera view or check the cables to ensure they are properly connected. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to seek assistance from a technician.
Typically, when the backup camera in the Q5 malfunctions, it is often caused by a blown fuse or a problem with the wiring system.
This situation occurred to me when I inputted my home address into the navigation system, made a pit stop, and kept my Bluetooth on for music. As I was trying to back out of my parking spot, the rearview camera didn't display the usual view. I turned off my Bluetooth, reprogrammed the navigation, restarted the car, but the camera still didn't work. Strangely, it started functioning again when I arrived home. I realized there is no manual option to display the rearview camera.
