If you drive a Volkswagen, you may notice various codes and lights appearing on your dashboard occasionally. Normally, these indicators suggest it's time for regular maintenance or that your vehicle has detected issues like low oil or fluids or blown fuses. However, if you see trouble code 00446, it means the voltage has fallen below the lower limit. This is referred to as "Function Limitation due to Under-Voltage" in the owner's manual. To address this, you should inspect the fuse box located along the front of your engine bay for any blown fuses. Replacing a faulty fuse can range from $13 to $53 for the part alone.
The VW code 00446 is showing a Function Limitation caused by Under-Voltage: Lower Limit Has Been Surpassed.
How about a faulty alternator?
It doesn't indicate which fuse is blown because it's not labeled, causing the fan to remain on.
