The warning message for high engine coolant temperature in a Ford F-150 is probably due to a malfunctioning sensor or actual overheating. If it's the latter, you can temporarily address the issue by turning off the air conditioner to reduce engine load. Turning on the heater will help dissipate some heat into the car cabin, allowing you to drive slowly home. If these steps don't work, try parking the car and revving the engine to activate the radiator fan, and also check under the hood for any visible issues.
I put in a new temperature sensor, but I'm still getting the same message about the coolant being too hot.
The reason why the engine coolant in the Ford F150 is overheating is due to a defective coolant sensor.
