For some people, a problem with non-functioning tail lights in their Mazda CX5 could be caused by a variety of issues such as a faulty fuse, a blown bulb, damaged wiring, or other electrical problems. To determine the cause, start by examining the tail light fuse located in the fuse panel. Next, inspect the turn signal and then check the bulbs to ensure they are all in good condition. If everything still seems fine after those checks, you will need to examine the wire connections that run to the back of the car. In order to access and inspect these connections and wiring harness for any shorts or damage, you may need to remove certain parts of the tail light assembly.
A blown fuse or a burnt-out bulb can make the tail lights stop working on the Mazda CX5.
