If the blind spot monitoring system on your Lexus RX350 isn't functioning, it is likely due to a malfunctioning sensor. This system relies on sensors positioned throughout the vehicle to alert you with a light when a vehicle is in your blind spot. If any of these sensors are faulty, the system may not operate correctly. Using a dealership scan tool, you can assess the system for any detected issues. Additionally, try cleaning the sensors, including those located on the side view mirrors, to potentially resolve the issue.
Can you simply switch out the sensors, or do you have to replace the whole thing? My system has failed three times already, but after I clean the sensors and restart the BSM, the monitoring starts working again for a few days.
If the blind spot monitor on a Lexus RX 350 isn't functioning, it probably indicates a problem with either the sensor or the wiring.
In 2023, my Lexus had intermittent issues where the driver side monitor wouldn't work when I used the remote start feature, but it worked fine when I started the car without using the remote. After taking it to Lexus, they discovered a glitch in the electrical system related to the remote start. Despite my service manager being unsure of the issue, they reached out to Lexus in the US for assistance, and it turns out that Lexus is currently working on resolving the problem.
