What could be the reason my Chevrolet HHR's speakers are not functioning properly?

In most cases, the speakers in a Chevrolet HHR should provide many years of great performance, sometimes even outperforming aftermarket systems with the factory option alone. However, like all things, they may stop working due to a few common reasons. If the speakers only work intermittently, it's likely due to a short or damaged wire, which can be challenging to identify. It could also be a loose connection, which is easier to fix. Another potential issue is water entering the speakers, possibly from windows being left open or leaky seals, causing no sound at all. If none of your speakers are working, it may be a blown fuse or in the worst-case scenario, a malfunctioning head unit. While less common, it's not impossible.

Issues with the speakers in your Chevy HHR typically stem from the speakers themselves, due to water seeping into the door space.

They are affordable speakers for the back door of my car. They got wet from rain or when the car was washed. You can purchase water guards to protect the new speakers.
